1. Acceptable terms

   I would request a dialing back on the cracking down of supposed anti-Semitism via the use of the term Zionist/ism. Considering this is an ideology and not a wholesale description of all Jewish people, it seems fair game to allow. I understand the ADL has weighed in on this matter, but given that they seem incapable of acknowledging the ongoing genocide in Gaza I fail to see how they have an unbiased or constructive take on this matter. Almost the entirety of mainstream news sources have, what appears to me to be, a clear bias in favor of presenting Israel's actions as permissible. On Twitch there is (or was) actually a space for dissenting opinions that I thought was genuinely productive. Anti-Semitism, and for that matter any prejudice against a group of people, is unacceptable. Conflating anti-Semitism with calling out a settler colonial project in Israel is an overcorrection in my estimation. Thanks for reading.

2. Allow Content Label Warning Appeals

   We should be able to appeal ALL warnings! GIVE US A VOICE. AND if you're not going to let us appeal ALL warnings, you should at the very least clarify that on your community guidelines page what can be appealed and what cannot. It states that we can appeal enforcements, including suspensions AND warnings. Meanwhile, i've just been told we cannot appeal label warnings.
   Not only are classification labels sorta new (I hadn't even heard of it until after my warning), but I'm sure there's room for mistakes on your end, and we should be able to appeal, regardless. I do not agree with my specific warning for several reasons, but I also think for first time offenses, there should be no punishments. How is it a warning if there's consequences? It was clearly a SMALL mistake/oversight, and to be punished for that (losing emote permissions because now I have what i consider a strike on my account) is excessive.
   Also, fix your "sexual themed label" description because whatever I got my warning for at the literal beginning of my stream was NOT sxual themed. If you have an issue with fully clothed, body covered attires that can be considered sxy, clarify that before handing out confusing enforcements because sxy and sxual are two different concepts.

3. 2FA without revealing phone number

   I use half a dozen of websites with 2FA and I would use that for twitch too if I didn't have to reveal my phone number. Twitch is the only website that I know of which requires it and it is a huge STOP sign for me.

4. Hide channels from suggestions after banning them

   I believe it should be an idea to hide the channel (if that channel is streaming) from being suggested if that channel has been banned from your own channel because I banned The13thSeahawk recently from my channel yet he's being suggested by the algorithm whenever he's streaming. He has also banned me from his channel. If I clicked on his channel while I'm banned and my unban request was already used, it would tell me that I am permanently banned from his chat which would make it useless for me to visit The13thSeahawk's stream in the first place.

   If implemented, I wouldn't have to go onto the mobile app and say that I'm not interested in the channel. It would automatically hide all channels I have banned from my channel from being suggested.

5. Allow everyone over 18 to opt in/out of the content warning categories

   I have no issue with having content warnings if they are done well, but they are intrusive and not helpful if they are everywhere.
   If I am happy to watch specific content, the alert should allow you to have an option to opt out of getting this warning again.
   Or they could be added to the Twitch Notification settings panel, and allow opt in/out for each content type.

6. I cannot know whether or not I should appeal something without evidence of what actually happened.

   I was recently suspended with the option to appeal. Problem is, I can’t appeal something if I can’t see what I was suspended for.

   I was not sent any proof of what I was suspended for. How am I supposed to appeal something if I am not given proof of what happened?

   For example “You are suspended. Appeal here.”

   “Appeal what? What did I do that needs to be appealed?”

   Was there a legit nip slip that obviously does not warrant an appeal? Cheap clothing can sometimes be too thin. Is there a particular outfit I was wearing that was more transparent than I realized? Was it about transparency or nip slips at all or was it about something else entirely? Is it offensive to have hard nipples when it is cold?? Rock hard nipples can be seen THROUGH my bra and shirt and even my sweater… Is that a suspendible offense??

   Maybe I don’t actually NEED to appeal something after reviewing the evidence. But without evidence, THERE IS NOTHING TO APPEAL.

   I can’t tell what I was suspended for because I was not sent a screenshot or clip of the offensive outfit or action…

   Which outfit should I not wear again? Which position should I not make the mistake of moving into? How can I correct my outfits/actions when I don’t know which particular outfit/action caused the suspension?

   The suspension notification I received on Twitch when I tried to log in was too vague for me to be able to decide whether or not I need to appeal.

   Why was I not sent an email notification about this suspension, and when I sent an appeal saying “what even happened” why did I not receive an email notification that I had made an appeal??

   If I am able to see a clip or screenshot of what I was suspended for and I see that there had been something like a shadow in an inopportune place, or an actual stain on my shirt, I can appeal and say “hey that actually was not a nip slip but a shadow/stain.” But if I can see that there WAS ACTUALLY a nip slip or something other, I do not have a need to appeal because the evidence is there.

   I have streamed many videos with many outfits, but was suspended for “inappropriate outfit”.

   How do I know which outfit I should not wear again or which position I should not move into to prevent an accidental and unnoticed nip slip from happening again if I am not sent a clip or screenshot of the offense? Or maybe I’m completely on the wrong track and it was not a nip slip OR the outfit, but something I was not aware was offensive at all unless I am shown and told specifically what it was?

   Since the videos were deleted by Twitch, I cannot review them to see what happened. I may stream for fifteen hours in a day, and I don’t remember exactly what happened at what day or time without a screenshot or clip of the offensive video.

   You cannot make an appeal without evidence. You cannot offer to allow me to make an appeal without sending me evidence of what may or may not need to be appealed.

   This is simple law. The prosecutor needs to show proof that the offender offended or there is no case. The offender cannot plead guilty or not guilty to an offense without evidence of what the offense was. Without evidence there can be no plea.

   Currently, my understanding of the appeal system when banned from chat is:
   - users are not told why you are banned, but you get to see the last 5 messages you sent.
   - users only get a small number of characters for their unban appeal, which may not be enough.
   - users are not told if OR WHY their appeal is denied
   - mods cannot ask for clarification since they cannot respond to the appeal, and vise versa.

   Since banned users cannot see who chat users are, banned users have to ask moderators to contact them off-platform in order to actually have any discussion.
   Instead, appeals should be treated as a whisper between the user and a "moderation team" 'user' (ie, the responding moderator's user isn't revealed to the user).

8. Don't warn the chatter when their message wasn't sent due to moderation settings

   When a chatter sends a message containing a banned term, they are met with the following message:
   "Your message wasn't posted due to conflicts with the channel's moderation settings."

   If the chatter is a harassing chatter, they will most likely just find a way to get past the banned words filter.

   Example, in this scenario the word 'apple' is banned:
   -> Chatter: 'Man, I really love this apple!"
   <- Twitch: 'Your message wasn't posted due to conflicts with the channel's moderation settings.'
   -> Chatter (trying to get past the filter): 'Man, I really love this app1e!' (notice how app1e gets past the filter)

   The chatter will only try to get past the filter if they are aware that their message was withheld.

   I propose a new setting the streamer can use:
   -> Chatter: 'Man, I really love this apple!'
   <- [The message shows up on the harassing chatter's screen, but isn't sent to anyone else]

   The chatter now has no idea their message has been withheld, and the odds that he tries to get past the filter is significantly lower. Maybe the moderators even get a notification that someone has used the banned term, and can moderate accordingly.
   Sometimes, this could be an inconvenience because a chatter might've used a banned term in a positive context. To solve this, the streamer could apply this setting only to a subset of banned words with a prompt "Warn the chatter when their message was withheld? y/n" or something along those lines.

   This feature request is focused mainly on the banned terms filter, but the same issue arises with the automod withheld-message warning.

   When a chatter sends a message containing a banned term, they are met with the following message:
   "Your message wasn't posted due to conflicts with the channel's moderation settings."

9. PubSub full documentation

   PubSub official documentation only list very few of the topics actually available.
   It makes it "officially" not so useful compared to what it can actually do.

   Basically it could replace EventSub for most of the cases, and, being far easier to implement would open possibilities for many tools without inducing huge potential server costs.

   Is there any plan to document all these topics someday ? Will it remain "unofficial" ?

10. Auto-filter for accounts that have never streamed but more than a couple thousand followers

    Please check if the number of followers of a channel is realistic if that channel has NEVER streamed. Recently there is a spike of purchased followers used in hate-raids against LGBTQIA+ people. A lot of this could be automatically prevented or at least decreased in how bad it is by automatically putting channels with a high followercount despite never having streamed on a watchlist and not allowing them to raid until this is reviewed.

    Entendo que usuários diferentes precisam de durações de timeout diferentes, e durante uma transmissão movimentada é complicado ficar digitando nicks e durações diferentes de timeout.
    Vou sugerir dois recursos

    1 - Duração de timeout padrão
    Tem dias que a duração de timeout padrão é muito e tem dias que é pouco; adicionar um recurso que permita ao usuário escolher o tempo padrão do timeout ao clicar com o mouse ajudaria demais os moderadores e principalmente o streamer que não tem moderadores.

    2 - Recurso para configurar timeout gradativo ao clicar com o mouse
    Seria interessante adicionar um recurso que permitisse ao usuário ativar a opção de timeout gradativo, que iria aumentando automaticamente a duração do timeout conforme o usuário fosse clicando para dar timeout.

15. Creating restrictions to prevent racist, flaming and hate spam

    Hi guys, I'm new here but i'm quite angry for what happened just now to a friend of mine. She started streaming a few months ago and she is giving her all to provide her little audience with a fun, polite and interactive experience. Despite her devotion to these principles, some users in 2020 still enjoy entering chats in group only to flame, spam racist stuff and other forms of hate. I get that in some ways you can manage your chat to prevent this stuff to happen but for small streamers it's kinda hard to manage on their own. And this goes too far beyond the concept of "freedom of speech".

    In my opinion, some forms of restriction should be issued right when the user creates its own account (like terms of use)or by blocking the chat from even type stuff like that (like an active control of the text box). Maybe I'm not the first one to complain about this, but the fact that this is still a thing in 2020 is unacceptable. A simple ban from the chat doesn't prevent this: people can still move to other chats and give their worst once again. And as far as i know, this is a problem that interests also big streamers sometimes, so why should we let this stuff go on?

    THERE SEEMS TO BE A BUG, I CANNOT DISABLE THESE CONSTANT WATCH STREAK NOTIFICATIONS THAT NOBODY CARES ABOUT AND THAT NOBODY EVER ASKED FOR. ITS REALLY ANNOYING AND I HOPE THIS BUG IS FIXED VERY SOON.

17. Allow audio-only DJ streams on cellphones

    In the DJ Program FAQ it mentions "Additionally, viewers on mobile are able to watch DJ streams, except the option for Audio Only listening will be disabled due to program requirements." https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/dj-program-faq

    Please advocate to change this with the labels and/or if its solely Twitch's decision, please reverse this.

    I can understand the wobbly logic that led to this being part of the program (live sync'd audio with a visual performance; no jukeboxes; no radios. Therefore, dont allow audio-only streams) however in practice this does nothing to achieve those ends.

    Instead it eliminates community members from DJ streams.

    Instead it generates cellphone high data use for listeners that isn't serving a purpose for listeners. It doesn't force anyone to look at their phone.

    Instead it uses more power and resources on Twitch's servers to deliver unwanted video feeds.

    Streamers are still going to produce video content (ie static images) for radio channels that noone is going to watch. So it doesnt help with eliminating problem channels. Hey it might even HURT; if you monitored your metrics on DJ Program channels you could find an enforce the radios by the unusually high audio-only metric.

    Its anti-community, anti-environmental, pro-big-cellphone/ISP, and anti-streamer. Please change it.

    In the DJ Program FAQ it mentions "Additionally, viewers on mobile are able to watch DJ streams, except the option for Audio Only listening will be disabled due to program requirements." https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/dj-program-faq

    Please advocate to change this with the labels and/or if its solely Twitch's decision, please reverse this.

    I can understand the wobbly logic that led to this being part of the program (live sync'd audio with a visual performance; no jukeboxes; no radios. Therefore, dont allow audio-only streams) however in practice this does nothing to achieve those ends.

19. Twitch Clips Desynced since Update

    So for a few years I have downloaded clips for my partner and I, to make compilation videos each month to post on YouTube. I started noticing about 3 months ago that some of the clips are broken. The audio and video are completely desynced. It seems to have started around the time Twitch started pushing the Landscape and Portrait clip editor. I am fairly certain it is a bug in the system and not a problem with my download/video player. When I look in my Clips Manager at the broken clip, the Landscape and Portrait versions start a few seconds apart from each other.

    It was at first just a few clips, so I assumed it was something on my end, but it's been happening more and more lately. I've also had friends say that their clip players on the brb screen of their streams have desynced audio in newer clips.

20. TOS clarifications, hiding, and image-based guidelines

    Firstly, let me clarify to you that I enjoy artistic nudity and am not a puritanical person. I also want to clarify that some people who didn't deserve to get banned got banned today who didn't draw any genitalia and who abided by the new TOS, and that you need to fix your accounting.

    However, this is regarding the "opening of Pandora's Box" that you have willed over the course of a singular day.

    Whether I like their art or not, the "sexual content" warning isn't sufficient, there absolutely needs to be (1) a censored thumbnail for 18+ streams (such as the drawing of NSFW art, as well as (2) two separate categories hidden from view and turned off from default view for minors. These would include a NSFW art subdivision and "tasteful nudity" subdivision.

    There are obviously still risks with this, but this is better than going into the situation with a half-baked plan. (3) Ideally, they should require credit card verification or some other form of ID, but if that's not possible, even having the other two is fine.

    From what I can surmise just glancing on my homepage yesterday, your algorithm doesn't launch mass suppression like Twitter and it certainly doesn't prevent minors from seeing this content, at least in the thumbnails. I can tell you this as a certainty because some people (not minors) from my Discord have already complained to me about this, that you can see it without any account.

    Let me give you the long and short of if: If the media frenzy is any indication, it's only a matter of time before Twitch has some articles written on it by neurotic journalists regarding its failure to protect children. This might even result in Twitch getting restricted in other countries in the future. That is, unless you put up appropriate safeguards

    You need to commit to the three recommendations above or immediately roll back your ToS change until it can be properly implemented, headache as that may be. This is not calling for a blanket ban, it is calling for sanity. You are risking the realization of the slippery slope. I think this art should be allowed to stay if at the very least it is properly separated into a different category that only shows up for a certain age range, there is thumbnail censorship on top of the warning, and ideally (I know this one is difficult to implement and more of an ideal) age verification.

    You are a gaming platform, not DeviantArt or NewGrounds. Have some integrity and actually plan these things out.

    In addition to the above three points, please also stipulate clearly and explicitly (and not imply) that artistic nudity does not include (1) sexual *********** or (2), masturbation. This has been a topic of contention in every stream that I have visited yesterday and it needs to be dealt with. You should also have images of what is and isn't allowed in a cartoon format for creators, just the outlines of two oversimplified characters having sex, same as the ones you could find on Healthline.

    For non-18+ drawing streams, I believe you should also clarify that drawing characters without any nipples or genitalia as part of the drawing process when first outlining, sketching, or coloring is fine. That's probably the lion's share of complaints from SFW artists anyways.
