4. Mobile App: STOP AUTO CHANGING VIDEO BITRATE (at least OPTION to DISABLE AUTO changes)

   Recently, the mobile iOS app has been automatically changing the video bitrate.

   To not burn through my data plan, I keep it at a certain lower bitrate.

   Also, aren't you trying to keep you costs low?

   So why the F*** did you, multiple times in the last few days, automatically switch it UP to higher bitrates?

   And there's NO OPTION to DISABLE it.

   Keep the function, some people will like it, just give an option to disable it please.

   I'm in a Racing League on F1 24 on Saturday's. The commentator streams the overview of the race and I stream my onboard with pedal cams. If I have his permission, can I put his stream in a picture-in-picture live on my stream? It's difficult to talk continuously while racing. Just curious if that would break any of the guidelines on content. Thank you for your time.

7. editor

   Please provide an option to restrict editors from uploading videos to our channel.

   While I appreciate the functionality of the editor role, I never want to give anyone the ability to upload content to my Twitch channel. A rogue editor could easily cause serious issues, including getting the streamer banned.

   I propose creating subdivisions within the editor role, allowing us to customize the permissions we grant editors, such as uploading videos, changing titles, or updating game categories.

   The current setup poses a significant safety risk.

8. Preventing Burner Account harrassment

   I've been getting bothered by burner accounts that follow me and use the points to spam their username, which is usually outrageously explicit, before I can manage to ban them.

   A solution I think would be nice would be to add an extra layer in verification to add the option of requiring an account be of a certain age for followers/ first time chatters IN ADDITION to the email/phone number verification. Instead of verified email OR an account older than (x), verified email AND an account older than (x). In addition from preventing chatting, we should prevent following AND ANY CHANNEL REDEMPTIONS.

   This would be plenty to stop the harassment I've been dealing with lately, and I believe this would also require minimal work to employ as it uses things twitch already has in its arsenal. This could be a big step in quality of life and stream moderation.

   Giving the streamers a chance to talk to someone, or show that it's a free use thing. when things get muted in video that shouldn't be. For example, audio from rights-free sources.. or rights-free downloads from YouTube or Facebook, that claim we can use them rights-free anywhere. is there any way to do this? we need more people in this field and not AI. please

11. Gaslighting, Logging, Context, Complaints.

    When someone is banned from Twitch, there needs to be a specific Twitch staff ID internally to help identify who issued the ban. If there is already a system in place, then when there are elevated concerns about the lack of absolute context, time, or statements made, the user SHOULD KNOW what it is.

    Just a few days ago, I found out what “Hawk Touh” means, and it’s just one of the thousands of random memes like “bing ****” or “pushing p” that appear and fade out of context. I find these memes irritating and nonsensical. Thanks to hindsight, I understood why I was banned again (after a month prior having been banned for absolutely no reason). These memes, often used without context, can be easily misunderstood, leading to unjust bans.

    The first time, it was for “Hateful Conduct.” Despite phone calls, emails, and attempted audits from third-party overseers, there was no update. The second time, due to the absurd nature of the ban on Twitch staff’s end, it was for “Unwarranted Sexual Advancements.” This time, I had logs. I sent them to the proper third-party auditors and included the Twitch staff CC in a more detailed follow-up email with far more context to the misguided ban. They responded on day 9 (the ban was only 7 days), stating they made a mistake and unbanned me, even though I was unbanned two days prior.

    Accountability: Twitch staff need to be investigated when there is such a heinous claim. This should not HAVE to happen through third-party means, given the context of an “unwarranted sexual advance.” Discussing assets with a developer to the point where StreamElements guided me in the proper direction to acquire the assets in that channel should not result in a ban. I gave them the case number of the Hateful Conduct ban a month prior in their feedback form. I see nothing come of it, just more stories of past issues that have no relevance today.

    This is an example of how terrible the system is. The lack of information in that Tweet by the disgruntled Twitch employee likely reflects the inadequacy of their internal system. This ambiguity in communication can cause unnecessary defense of inappropriate actions based on misunderstood contexts. The ambiguity IS THE ISSUE. The lack of evidence on Twitch staff’s end in my case is likely not reflective of the incident 4 years ago involving different staff. Today, it is NOT the case. There are no guidelines to hold accountability on Twitch for both the user and the staff.

    The takeaway is, without third-party programs that allowed me to log MY OWN chat records, we can’t contextualize our own memes that are unknown to everyone. Since these bans were “repealed,” I have no idea if that means the “Hateful Conduct” or the proven out-of-context “Sexual Advancement.” Knowing that, I had the mods send me my logs when I was unbanned in May, the last thing I said was “DDT was banned in the 1980s, I thought?” So I provided an epa.gov link to the staff and still have heard nothing.

    1.  Set up a system to find out how many strikes someone has for bans. I am assuming all of the bans were overturned but have ZERO way of knowing, as I only know they said “after looking into it” when I never stated anything about appealing the “Sexual Advancement” ban, since I found it imperative to understand the misuse of banning as I provided the evidence of what declared that ban and only provided the case number for the Hateful Conduct ban.
    2.  Compensation when back-to-back bans were PROVEN to be a mistake.
    3.  Third-party auditing that cannot be money-trailed (digital era is digital) to Twitch, involving no conflict of interest in the current matter on a case-by-case basis.
    4.  The loss of privileges to any Twitch staff who has wrongfully banned someone for twice the duration of the ban inflicted on the individuals.
    5.  Refocus the financials on other companies like Valve or just strictly leave Twitch to be linked as an option. The other opportunities for Prime Gaming are massive since 2014. Using Prime for other ventures has been profitable for Amazon, as stated. Twitch needs to refocus employee payments towards staff identified by the methods above and use their salaries to identify botnets, which are damaging ad revenue. Alternatively, develop an application that allows users to know what they said so it’s not “your word against something they can’t find since the account is nuked.”
    

    The level on which Twitch operates now is embarrassing. The fact that you can have current Twitch staff hand out similarly worded ban reasons, “and making a mistake” ONLY when I could provide evidence, is something Amazon among other affiliates and partners KNOW has been the terrible standard for a minute.

14. Feature request: All users must be logged in to view a channel/stream

    Please consider making it so that users must have an account and be logged in to view someone's channel/stream. Banning someone doesn't currently stop them from just logging out or going incognito to keep watching someone. This would make it harder for stalkers in particular to keep tabs on their victims.

16. Restrictions on Vtubers and women are a sexist, unfair, and gynophobia double standard

    It's sexist. Censorship and policing of v tubers and the like is policing fiction rather than real people and it's just the same misogyny. It's gynophobia. over polygons. Remember, not too long ago twitch had problems of abuse and misconduct with people that worked for them.

    That's the harm. that's the sexism. not v tubers. It's the treatment of the people making content on this site.

    That is what is harmful here.
    And this is not just about women. Notice I said people. I think we'd all be doing a lot better in this industry if we recognized that a company that shamelessly mistreats any single group of people is probably mistreating all their employees in some way, shape, or form.

    THAT is the harm. not chevage on polygons or "revealing clothing".

    Now, does this make sense? That this is all performative? This is all a smokescreen? We see you, Twitch. The fact that these employees are brave enough to actually go and file these complaints while twitch is on the run like this, mad props to them. We all know this is going on. We all know this is happening. That is where sexism is happening. The v-tubers on the screen, the cleavage on the woman, that's not hurting anybody. There are paintings and pictures in the real world that have some cleavage showing. You know, classic art. It's not hurting anybody.

    Twitch thinks it can pacify viewers and investors and advertisers toning down things and faceless women. They think they're doing something progressive. it's not.

    This is the kind of stuff that actually doesn't make things more female-friendly. It actually insults women's intelligence

    Twitch's censorship of women and their bodies and the like when they themselves had abusers on staff is not a good look. We can have gore and shooting games but some how we shun women's bodies in a very anti-feminist way? Let's get in to how disrespectful it is.

    Correct me if i'm wrong but i hear that "revealing clothing for V tubers is now going to be disallowed. Now if it's just to require a tag, and are equivalent to restrictions on real live people then this help suggestion is null. However. there is a very censorship happy push and a very corporate c-suite bigotry that is and has been harming women for over a decade now. It's no different than the measuring of skirts we had for "decency" when the Christians did it. or "she was asking for it".

    Instead of recognizing that the goal, the idea, the ideal we're supposed to be moving towards is that women—everybody—but in this case, women should be respected regardless of what they're wearing. Even if somebody does something awful, you still respect them as a human being.

    in the push to "stop objectification" you say You do not objectify anybody, which is what you do when you decide, "Oh, why don't we impose vtuber models to cover up?" It's bull.

    And this is why gamers push back against this stuff. It's not because they're all "Unga Bunga, me want *****." That's not what it is. It's that they recognize this stuff is all smoke and mirrors. 17. better content security and end-user control over extension-loading

    A security incident with my account recently convinces me twitch is very vulnerable to cross-site scripting. I therefore would like to constructively suggest:

    • motivating and applying proper content security policies to filter out untrusted 3th party dependencies; these seem to be completely missing right now?

    • giving the end user, the viewer, more control over which extensions are loaded on a stream independent of the streamer's configuration... i want to block all extensions from now on, but i can't easily?

    • maybe doing the threat modelling to exclude all CSRF related threats if not already done

    Where my proof is limited my analysis of the incident with my account suggests a bot was able to send messages from my account and browser session through cross-site scripting; implying either an insecure twitch 3th party dependency OR through an insecure extension.

    What happened is that last saturday, while lurking in a stream, i suddenly saw alot of messageboxes pop-up with a link in it. At the time I thought they were messages sent TO me, but with my account restored now i can see they were sent FROM my account somehow. My acccount was then disabled by twitch and has been reactivated meanwhile.

    Since I had 2-factor enabled it seems unlikely to me that this was just a case of stolen credentials.

    If twitch applies any meaningfull secure web best practices (same-site policy, CSRF tokens, ...); then it should also not be likely to be leaked session tokens.

    My browser is configured to allow HTTPs only (and i would expect twitch to set the corresponding configuration); I guess twitch TLS configuration could be insecure (e.g. TLS v2 instead of v3 with insecure settings)... but it seems far-fetched for a spam bot to go through the trouble of cracking even badly configured TLSv2 encryption to me? So a man-in-the-middle session hijack seems a bit far fetched to me here too.

    Additionally, immediately after it happened i wanted to create a new account to be able to let my favourite twitch people know i wasn't gonna be around or gift subs for a while... i couldn't from my IP, had to do that on VPN. The fact that twitch automatically blacklisted my IP after the incident suggests to me the spam did originate from my setup AND not from a remote setup that stole/hijacked my session.

    I like to think i'm not sloppy with security on my setup. My browser and virusscanner are up to date, browser config is reviewed and set as secure as possible, i always enable 2-factor. There were barely any extensions in my browser also (the most common adblocker and a google translate plugin).

    I think that the most likely way this happened is that through cross-site scripting a script was injected into my session, so either through an insecure twitch extension or an insecure twitch 3th party dependency. Most likely the script was directly sending the spam messages from my browser session.

    Whether you accept that conclusion or not, i do think it's reasonable to ask to evaluate if twitch is not all too vulnerable to cross-site scripting. It seems to me HTTP content-security-policy headers are not used; raising the question if any meaningful content-security-policy is applied at all? AND it does seem fair to me to give the end-user control over their security.. so twitch extensions on-stream should NEVER be enabled or even loaded by default without the end-user's permissions (independent of whether they need an acccount connection or not).

    My 2 cents.

    A security incident with my account recently convinces me twitch is very vulnerable to cross-site scripting. I therefore would like to constructively suggest:

    • motivating and applying proper content security policies to filter out untrusted 3th party dependencies; these seem to be completely missing right now?

    • giving the end user, the viewer, more control over which extensions are loaded on a stream independent of the streamer's configuration... i want to block all extensions from now on, but i can't easily?

    • maybe doing the threat modelling to exclude all CSRF related threats if not already done

18. Follow bot Twitch partner groups

    There are two Twitch groups that are filled with bots and fake streamers, almost all of them have over 2k followers, these groups send follow bots and hate raids.

    The twitch groups are Siedler and NaM

    There doesn't seem to be any way for a twitch group to be reported for bots or fake content, but there are groups out there specifically going against ToS and there's nothing we can do about it on this side. Please give us a way to send a twitch group Report so groups like these can be vetted and reprimanded. Thank you.

19. Better protections for streamers being labeled as bots

    I came across a scenario this week where a popular streamer (KevoKoala) was banned mid-stream for being labeled a bot account. The email he received sounds like he got mixed in with a bunch of accounts flagged as bots and mass banned.

    I feel like there should be protections in place for streamers where the flag is removed or at least sent to a human for review if they have over a certain number of subscriptions, average viewer count or followers. Something. There are plenty of qualifiers that can separate an active streamer's account from a malicious bot account. The fact that there are no protections for streamers in place is quite scary. This automated decision will impact his income as all of his subscriptions were automatically canceled and he has lost a major avenue of communication with his community. IF he can get this ban reversed, it could take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to be corrected and I doubt Twitch will compensate for the lost income during that time. As a streamer, I can't imagine taking that hit when things are already so tight. I feel like this could happen to any of us at any time and there is no protection in place against it or streamlined process in place for correcting the issue. I would hope that Twitch would prioritize getting these creators back online as fast as possible to reduce the amount of lost income for both parties involved.

    Requests:

    -Better bot detection or set of qualifiers that send bot bans to a human to review before possibly effecting creator's income.

    -Better appeal system for streamers who are falsely banned

    A specific videogame (Final Fantasy XIV) as an extensive catalog of in-game music and has had a consistent issue with certain tracks being claimed.

    According to the following article by the developer:
