  1. Given the widespread use of hostile bots on Twitch right now by bad actors, particularly those targeting LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities, it would be great if we could have a RegEx pattern block/ban/follow restriction option. A number of the accounts being spun up for the purpose of harassing and stealing the identities of streamers have consistent name patterns, and being able to issue a regex block/ban on those patterns would be useful.

This sort of feature would obviously be something that streamers would have to use at their own risk. Overly inclusive block/ban patterns could potentially limit legitimate viewers. But…

  2. Recently in the twitch community, there has been a rise of hot tub streamers also known as the "Hot Tub Meta". This has been a very controversial issue but I'm going to give my thoughts on the issue and hopefully twitch will do something about this. On twitch TOS it's stated "Content or camera focus on breasts, buttocks, or pelvic region, including poses that deliberately highlight these elements". This means any sort of content that deliberately does these would be against TOS. Now when we look at how the Hot Tub Meta we can see that it's unhealthy and unfair…

  3. Sponsored gambling streams should not be allowed on Twitch because of Twitch's policies and sponsored gambling streams effects.

On the twitch safety center it states that community comes first and safety is personal. Allowing sponsored gambling steams on twitch goes against these policies by not first helping the community but rather turning a blind eye to them, and not the safety of those viewers as they are being exploited for profit.

Not allowing sponsored gambling steams will stop exportation of viewers for profit. The website pays the content creator to gamble on their gambling platform. They do this to get…

  4. I have seen so many ridiculous emotes get removed. Middle fingers, a butt shaking, dancing are not offensive and it is absolutely childish to ban an emote that is literally just pixels showing things that every iPhone and Android have (the middle finger)

  5. When a streamer is suspended or banned, that streamer has no idea what the actual violation was and when it took place.

The violation is too vague and doesn't offer any specific details to the streamer and they have no idea when the specific violation took place. This is something streamers need so they don't make the same mistake again. If the TOS and Community Violations are being clarified, the same should go for the reason why a streamer was banned.

A clearer understanding of the rules should come with a clearer understanding of when a violation occurred and will…

  6. It would be great if new users were required to fill out a CAPTCHA before making an account. It would help get rid of all the fake engagement and prevent mass of bot accounts from being made.

Twitch use to have it in 2017, but it appears to be gone now - its unclear if removing CAPTCHA from account creation was intentional or accident.

  7. Channel-following bot attacks seem to be back again. It is quite upsetting when content creators are streaming wether talking with the chat or just playing while they tell viewers how they feel when all of a sudden a bunch of notifications with pretty weird names pop up.

Streamers and viewers know that it is quite difficult to control these attacks considering that they are done every day, at any time. Despite the fact that there are some tools that in one way or another allow us to remove these bots, many of us believe that it would be better to…

  8. Ban appeals shouldn't be so one-sided
Currently, my understanding of the appeal system when banned from chat is:
    - users are not told why you are banned, but you get to see the last 5 messages you sent.
    - users only get a small number of characters for their unban appeal, which may not be enough.
    - users are not told if OR WHY their appeal is denied
    - mods cannot ask for clarification since they cannot respond to the appeal, and vise versa.

Since banned users cannot see who chat users are, banned users have to ask moderators to…

  9. Have you considered making a deal with music licensing companies (BMI, ASCAP, etc) to allow streamers permission to use their catalogs if we opt to pay them (or you?) a small monthly fee for this right/service?

  10. Stricter gambling rules. Make gambling accessible to users that have proven to be 18 or older. Make "gambling" category in twitch unaccessible to users that havent proven their age with valid ID. Streamers who gamble in different category receive temporary or permanent ban. Gambling has been raising concern over the years in Twitch. This ia an idea how to restrict under age users from watching gambling streams and how Twitch could strengthen their gambling rules.

  11. Problem: Platforms give verification badges to automated bot accounts that are not real people and thus cannot sign mobile contracts. This leads to confusion and misleading of users and questions the authenticity of actually verified accounts.

Proposed solution: Platforms should have clear and transparent policies for awarding verification badges and ensure that only real people with a mobile contract are verified. Clear distinctions should be made between real people and automated bot accounts, e.g. by using different symbols or colours for verification badges.

Platforms should also ensure that automated bot accounts cannot be confused with verified accounts. One possibility would…

  13. Protect streamers from false copyright claims. We don't want this to become like Youtube where anyone can just claim your content without any repercussions.

There are hundreds of fake accounts stealing music from video games and voicing rap over it, posting it as original content and then claiming the original video game music as their own whenever it is played on a stream.

Countering it takes entering your full name and address. No way anybody is gonna appeal those muted vods or copyright claims by submitting that info.

  15. Recently (coinciding with the Helix Raids API being released in open beta), the rate limit on "Raid Now" has been increased to 10 per 10 minutes.

Previously this was set to 3 per 30 minutes (and was even abused by hate raiders who found a bypass for this rate limit; now, such a bypass isn't even necessary as a malicious user can do 60 raids per hour instead of just 6).

There is no normal use case I can think of that justifies this high of a rate limit, and it is ripe for abuse: trolls can create accounts…

  16. The hacking and/or hijacking of accounts for malicious purposes has been a known and happened issue on Twitch and is apparently detrimental for the safety of all users, either with accounts hacked or affected by subsequent malicious activities such as fraud or hate spam.
So, it would be good to have more active methods for users to report accounts that start to have suspicious activities, other than passively remind everyone to protect their own accounts.

Recently on a channel where I work as a moderator, there was a user who had been talking normally in the chat for several months…

  17. Please add a feature that allows the Streamer to manually remove followers. Banning a user doesn't remove them from your followers list anymore. Users are still able to receive notifications of all of your activity, or in the case of stalkers and ban evaders, they just create new accounts to follow you around to receive these notifications and keep tabs on you.

  18. Hello,

I recetnly found my twitch content (my VODs) on youtube uploaded not by me and it seems i am not the only one.

Is there anything twitch could provide to help getting that content down? I already filed a copyright strike. One of my problems is that some of the VODs are not up on my channel anymore.

I can also not see any option to contact the support with this question. maybe a short answer (no matter if it is "we cannot help" or "do this") would be helpfull in the FAQ.

  19. I was recently suspended with the option to appeal. Problem is, I can’t appeal something if I can’t see what I was suspended for.

I was not sent any proof of what I was suspended for. How am I supposed to appeal something if I am not given proof of what happened?

For example “You are suspended. Appeal here.”

“Appeal what? What did I do that needs to be appealed?”

Was there a legit nip slip that obviously does not warrant an appeal? Cheap clothing can sometimes be too thin. Is there a particular outfit I was wearing that was…

  20. Vtubers and others who wish to hide potential past lives or the like often post such rules in their channels, which are almost always ignored by others who don't care about the legitimate reasons for wanting to start anew or not have any of their information be leaked online. At least the ability to send a private warning to other users for flagrant breaches of privacy and then a ban request if they continue to ignore it would be much appreciated.
