  1. As we know, ads are common on any platform and I understand they're a primary source of income. Generated for both parties (twitch, and content creators) and is evenly split between both parties. However, sometimes these ads are intrusive and lead to a reduction in viewer retention.

While the viewers suffer from advertisements but also streamers, streamers stream for 4 hours a day, sometimes every day, and some stream more. That's a part-time job, and some aren't gaining anything out of it. I, myself am a streamer and try to stream 5 days a week, but I find it very…

  2. I've used streamlink for the past few years now. As of the past couple weeks. It is now plagued with purple screens that do not resume the stream or crash the player in the case of vlc media player. There is only one streamer I can now watch through streamlink since they do not play ads.

I prefer to use streamlink because of its simplicity and light weight. Most of the time I'm doing something in my other monitor like playing a game. I don't want a web page slowing down my computer like the twitch site does.

    Or even…

  3. I like supporting streamers. I recently discovered a streamer was suspended for a week, yet my subscription still counts down, yet no content. If a streamer is suspended for a week, a subscription should be paused for that period, and resumed when they are back. OR have an option to pause

  4. The new monetization features boosting and super chats both have 70/30 splits.

Gifting a large amount of subscriptions is a standard way of supporting your favorite streamer, and right now, that would be disincentivized.

The best way to fix this utilizes Tier 2 & Tier 3 subs. Nothing overwhelming happens when they are gifted. The viewer is hardly rewarded.

    Some ideas:
-have a bombastic animation play when a mass amount of tier 2 or tier 3 subs is gifted.

-add color and highlights to the text that displays what tier the subscription is.

    -sub points & a sub store are…

  5. I would love it if there was a way to offer a different cam overlay (or second camera angle) for people who sub to a second or third tier. Like I want to over content on my video that is invisible to those at lower sub levels. For example, I am an artist. Everyone can see my art cam but second and third tiers are the only ones who can also see my face cam. (or pet cam)

  6. Similar to another post, but more fleshed out.

    The problem

I support many creators with monthly subs, but as a person with limited budget, it's so hard to plan finances with little amounts of £3.99 coming out throughout the month and often leads to going overdrawn on the one of my accounts I use. It also causes a lot of emails throughout the month for each subscription, telling me it is about to renew.

    My Solution

I would suggest a user-nominated day when payment for all upcoming subscriptions, that month, would be taken (in advance of the renewal day).

    If…

  7. Aside from not having the option to purchase the Turbo subscription annually, the biggest downside for international users (like me) is the lack of options to pay in our own currency. Once we've paid to convert to USD, PLUS the conversion costs, it gets a lot more pricey than $8.99. My last short stint with Turbo was costing me $13.55 a month. That's far more than I pay for Prime. I'm going to want a whole lot more than just ad-free service for that amount.

  8. Whenever I used to subscribe to a streamer offline I’d used to be able to announce in the chat that I had subscribed to that particular streamer the next time they streamed again but now that feature seems to be gone which makes them unaware that I had even subbed

  9. Adding a delay option for the bits or subs notification in chat will make it more exciting cause it will sync with the alerts
So it would be amazing to have an option in twitch similiar to
“ Alert Text Delay “ in streamlabs or streamelements

  10. Allow a sub gifter to give subs "on behalf of" another user.

Inevitably, during a hype train or just as part of the regular course of a stream, someone who is normally an avid gifter or just a steady, regular viewer and active chat participant, will express regret that their current financial status doesn't let them gift subs or send bits.

It would be nice to be able for someone (anonymous or not) to gift subs "on behalf of @UserX". Just another way of sharing some of the love around. I think several of the streamers I follow and sub…

  11. I've lost enough footage (including world records) because of only having 2 weeks to make a highlight. Having only 1 week just because the stats say that most people don't watch VODs after a week, doesn't justify users requiring prioritizing hours of Twitch highlighting over other deadlines. If users are really only gonna be given a week with a paywall as the only other option, then atleast make the highlighting process faster. Highlighting 100+ streams a month takes many hours due to the default being that only the middle gets highlighted, so you have to manually drag it outward each…

  12. Netflix is 9.99, Hulu is 6.99, Amazon Prime is 14.99 (and you get so much with that).

Twitch is overpriced for 2 reasons right now -

You can support 3 channels on Twitch for 15 dollars as it is right now. Compared to having access to thousands of shows and movies on other platforms.

Those 3 channels you spend 15 dollars on won't have ads, but the other streams you may want to check out are littered with ads. These ads pop up that worst times. Usually when something exciting is happening.

They also pop up very frequently when you…

  13. It is exceptionally helpful to know if people are unsubscribing due to factors outside of our control (such as a viewer's finances or schedule changing) or within our control, such as a streamer schedule change or experimentation with new content. This would help alleviate the stress of wondering if unsubscriptions are something we can affect as streamers or if it is primarily beyond our control, which would greatly decrease some of the mental burden and worry of never knowing for sure why people unsubscribe. This data, collected via an anonymous dropdown menu, would be incredibly helpful so streamers can best…

  14. While I understand it’s a nice thought and supports the streamer, I usually lurk in the channels I follow. I suffer anxiety and I’m painfully introverted and I don’t want to feel obligated or pressured into a subscription or into having to interact with people. I know people want to support their favorite streamers but please have an option for us anxious people to block gifted subs for followed channels (as well as the already existing option for unfollowed channels)

  15. Let streamers decide for themselves if they want that information. No, really. Let a streamer disable that feature for their content. Some streamers may want to know. Others do not. People have their reasons some of them may be personal. IMO, this only serves those who want the information. For those who don't, this could do more harm than good.

  16. The current management for your active subscriptions is fractured and not easy to manage. This should be improved by merging Mobile Subs & Desktop Subs into one easy to manage interface.

    • Let supporters cancel, renew, upgrade or downgrade their active subscriptions from the same interface whether they are on desktop or the mobile app no matter which source the subscription was originally created.
    • Allow supporters to change their payment methods for each subscription individually without needing to first cancel the subscription and for the same token above, by not forcing them to manage subscriptions from two different locations.
    • Offer the…

  17. A few months ago I paid my monthly subscription in my girldfriend's channel, everything fine at this point, but two days later the subscription was removed from me, and this is not the only case, in other channel I tried to give a subscription but i couldn't, I was pretty sure my bank acount was not empty, and a message said to me "Actually this user can not receive gift subscriptions". This error is not happening just to me, and it's very important to fix this bug, because I need to pay again the sub and i didn't get a…

  20. While Gifted Subs are a great way support a channel they typically result in low retention rates.

The idea is that the recipient of a gifted subscription will have the option to renew that subscription when it expires for one month at a discounted rate.

This will help increase retention by incentivizing gift recipients to convert to full-time subscriptions, which will ultimately lead to more revenue for both Twitch and content creators.
