1. Decrease sexually suggestive content on platform to create suitable media platform towards people that create trust for large media outlets

   Less sexual content to platform so people will actually find social network type of content thats fun engaging entertainment and easy to interact with while being social chatty. This should bring less of a cash grab enviroment to platform and it could be the whole baseline how to create twitch for now and future to increase intrest towards people.

   I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express deep concerns and respectfully request a reconsideration of the recent Terms of Service (TOS) update, specifically pertaining to sexual content, on the Twitch platform.

   While we acknowledge the necessity of maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all users, the latest TOS adjustments appear to have inadvertently created a significant negative impact, especially among the younger audience. There is a growing prevalence of individuals disregarding the guidelines, promoting explicit content, including links to adult services like OnlyFans, and displaying graphic sexual imagery during live streams. This trend is in direct contradiction to the updated TOS, which explicitly prohibits such actions.
   The concern is not merely about adherence to the rules but rather the potential harm this shift is causing to the platform's overall atmosphere. The youth, in particular, are exposed to content that is inconsistent with Twitch's community standards, leading to an environment that is no longer conducive to their creative growth and enjoyment.
   Moreover, the proliferation of explicit artwork featuring genitalia has become increasingly visible, contributing to an uncomfortable and inappropriate atmosphere. 6. Sexual Content Verification and Consent Revision

   With the new Sexual Content and Content Classification rules allowing a greater amount of erotic dances and photography, will there be a way to verify user ages and their consent? I suspect this will need to be revised and implemented, else you could have people coerced into doing erotic dances for subs.

   Why is the term '******' accepted at Twitch/Amazon? From what I can see it's completely acceptable for streamers/Twitch chatters to use this term freely.

   Twitch has cracked down on most bigoted language, so I am curious as to why this term has been allowed to be said?

8. Preventing Burner Account harrassment

   I've been getting bothered by burner accounts that follow me and use the points to spam their username, which is usually outrageously explicit, before I can manage to ban them.

   A solution I think would be nice would be to add an extra layer in verification to add the option of requiring an account be of a certain age for followers/ first time chatters IN ADDITION to the email/phone number verification. Instead of verified email OR an account older than (x), verified email AND an account older than (x). In addition from preventing chatting, we should prevent following AND ANY CHANNEL REDEMPTIONS.

   This would be plenty to stop the harassment I've been dealing with lately, and I believe this would also require minimal work to employ as it uses things twitch already has in its arsenal. This could be a big step in quality of life and stream moderation.

9. Banned and Unbanned multiple times for drawing pixel arts.

   I have been banned and unbanned multiple times in the past 1 week for drawing pixel arts, it has no explicit material and nothing that can come out as sexual. The only thing I can think of is that the sprite I made start out without clothes to make it easier for me to draw (Keep in mind I did not make any genitals or anything explicit as explained in the DMCA GUIDELINES). I think people should check on the material that is reported before banning the streamer rather than having to appeal and wait 1 hour. I'm sure that streamers that are banned would make an appeal either way, so I think looking before banning is a better workflow than giving an ultimatum before even checking what the system was doing. I do not know if the bans are given by an algorithm or a human, but seeing that I was unbanned multiple times while following DMCA GUIDELINES I'm sure that some bans are done by an algorithm.

    I use a playlist from YouTube that is provided by the creator of the music to be DMCA safe for streaming. Most of the time, I have no problems with the music. But I currently have sections on three of my videos that were muted with that music as part of it. When I look at the appeal, the track and artist names are incorrect. Please have a look at the algorithm and refine it so it stops silencing DMCA-safe music.

    Currently you have one shot at it to set the right labels while you are live.

    As soon as the live is over, you have no way of applying the correct labels to the archived broadcast, or any new highlights/clips created from that broadcast.

12. Twitch Staff Deliberately Neglects Enforcing Rules

    When Twitch staff receives reports with clear proof that a streamer is in violation of guidelines, they ignore the reports and deliberately fail to take action. I know because I have sent reports stating the violation, linking the rule being violated, and included screenshots and video clips. Everything is made perfectly clear. Yet, hours later, the streamer is still streaming doing the same thing. And this has happened many many times over a year.

    If the streamer is continuing to do it, then whatever punishment Twitch is imposing, probably none, is not enough. The streamer continues to do it because they profit from it. Their viewer count goes up and subscriptions increase. The opposite should happen. There are many things that could be done that are not that would be effective such as ending the stream when they see the violation, withholding subscription payments for that month, or banning for increasing periods of time. Increase the punishment until it stops.

    Someone or some multiple staff are fully aware that the streamer is clearly in blatant violation of the rules repeatedly, and they doing nothing. Twitch staff who read these forums might be complicit, so letters need to be written that go over their heads and visits to the offices made to get to the bottom of and isolate the problem. It could be one or a few people conspiring or it could be systemic.

    Over the past year it has happened at least hundred times.

    The rules:

    ...Swimwear is permitted as long as it completely covers the genitals, and those who present as women must also cover their nipples...

    ...Content subject to this contextual exception must be placed within the Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches category. Content that violates standard attire guidelines and is not subject to this contextual exception (e.g. wearing a bikini outside of pool or beach setting) is still violative even if placed into the Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches category...."

13. the easiest idea to solve the problem with all bots, without much work for twitch itself.

    Dear Twitch,

    The simplest idea to solve all bots of the category (Follow, View) forever and help Twitch to become the first platform of transparency and credibility in 4 steps:

    • Change your statistical analysis on the platform. For example, “only verify all” accounts are counted and displayed as “View/Viewer”, “Follower” and for other statistics. Nobody gets any more information about how many people are watching the stream. You only see a “real number” of followers and current viewers.
    • All verified users (via ID card/Passport or something similar) have access to one account, not several. (Except for partners/affiliates who each have a private account)
    • Write to all accounts via e-mail that you will now gradually take action against bots and delete dead accounts if they are not verified (e.g. 1 year to verify the account)
    • delete dead accounts / after this year of waiting time you can delete the "chat writing option" for non verify users complete.

    job done!

    It doesn't just sound simple, it is. If you communicate this properly in public, you are clearly taking action against fraud and your credibility as a platform is definitely strengthened.

    It's not for nothing that there are now private companies who can have a social media and influencer presence check for authenticity for a very low price.

    Twitch simply must not be afraid that the number of verifications will fail to materialize. The majority of users finally want credible transparency, they don't want hate and agitation in the chats, they want streamers who are credible and don't have hundreds of thousands of followers, even though no one ever writes in the chat or only a 0.14% rate of them.

    As an IT specialist, I used it to get our network clean again. As a user of twitch, I would be very happy about such a change. As a streamer myself (now on YouTube), I stand for transparency.

    Please do something at last.
    Nobody buys bots that can no longer do anything because they require registration.

14. Show date/timestamp on VOD

    Can we please get an update to just show the precise date and time of a VOD on the VOD's page, instead of the obscure "5 days ago" (which becomes even more obscure as more time passes)?

    When viewing your VOD list, hovering over the really obscure "X Days Ago" label at the bottom right corner of the thumbnails does reveal the date that way, but on the VOD page itself, I don't see the date anywhere. At the very least, just make it an option to hide/show on our channel.

15. Host Being Able to Clear Chat Logs in Own Channel

    Implementing a feature for the host of the livestream to clear chat logs within their channel. A lot of times, people in chat will be saying things that should be kept private, like location of where they live, account information, or having personal chat with the streamer (frequent for smaller creators) that could be topics that they thought was between two people or a small group. Mods have access to look at anyone's complete chat logs, meaning if a small streamer started off with just their friends watching and they were talking about the school they go to, severe topics like depression, or any other private banter that compromises their location or personal details, any new or old mod can see that, and use that information to abuse said chatters or even the host. With the push of privacy being important to Twitch and its users, a feature to ensure that someone cannot be doxed with their own information and prevent it from getting to the public would be optimal. The feature would allow only the host to be able to clear out the entire chat log of any person(s) including them in their own channel, it would solidify safety, privacy, and overall wellbeing for them and their chatters, allowing them to control what is said in their chat and keeping everyone protected from harm or danger that could occur, whether it take place online, or come to life in the real world.

    Currently, it is not even possible to reply back to a verified user if they whispered to you first and you are not verified.

17. better content security and end-user control over extension-loading

    A security incident with my account recently convinces me twitch is very vulnerable to cross-site scripting. I therefore would like to constructively suggest:

    • motivating and applying proper content security policies to filter out untrusted 3th party dependencies; these seem to be completely missing right now?

    • giving the end user, the viewer, more control over which extensions are loaded on a stream independent of the streamer's configuration... i want to block all extensions from now on, but i can't easily?

    • maybe doing the threat modelling to exclude all CSRF related threats if not already done

    Where my proof is limited my analysis of the incident with my account suggests a bot was able to send messages from my account and browser session through cross-site scripting; implying either an insecure twitch 3th party dependency OR through an insecure extension.

    What happened is that last saturday, while lurking in a stream, i suddenly saw alot of messageboxes pop-up with a link in it. At the time I thought they were messages sent TO me, but with my account restored now i can see they were sent FROM my account somehow. My acccount was then disabled by twitch and has been reactivated meanwhile.

    Since I had 2-factor enabled it seems unlikely to me that this was just a case of stolen credentials.

    If twitch applies any meaningfull secure web best practices (same-site policy, CSRF tokens, ...); then it should also not be likely to be leaked session tokens.

    My browser is configured to allow HTTPs only (and i would expect twitch to set the corresponding configuration); I guess twitch TLS configuration could be insecure (e.g. TLS v2 instead of v3 with insecure settings)... but it seems far-fetched for a spam bot to go through the trouble of cracking even badly configured TLSv2 encryption to me? So a man-in-the-middle session hijack seems a bit far fetched to me here too.

    Additionally, immediately after it happened i wanted to create a new account to be able to let my favourite twitch people know i wasn't gonna be around or gift subs for a while... i couldn't from my IP, had to do that on VPN. The fact that twitch automatically blacklisted my IP after the incident suggests to me the spam did originate from my setup AND not from a remote setup that stole/hijacked my session.

    I like to think i'm not sloppy with security on my setup. My browser and virusscanner are up to date, browser config is reviewed and set as secure as possible, i always enable 2-factor. There were barely any extensions in my browser also (the most common adblocker and a google translate plugin).

    I think that the most likely way this happened is that through cross-site scripting a script was injected into my session, so either through an insecure twitch extension or an insecure twitch 3th party dependency. Most likely the script was directly sending the spam messages from my browser session.

    Whether you accept that conclusion or not, i do think it's reasonable to ask to evaluate if twitch is not all too vulnerable to cross-site scripting. It seems to me HTTP content-security-policy headers are not used; raising the question if any meaningful content-security-policy is applied at all? AND it does seem fair to me to give the end-user control over their security.. so twitch extensions on-stream should NEVER be enabled or even loaded by default without the end-user's permissions (independent of whether they need an acccount connection or not).

    My 2 cents.

    • motivating and applying proper content security policies to filter out untrusted 3th party dependencies; these seem to be completely missing right now?

    • giving the end user, the viewer, more control over which extensions are loaded on a stream independent of the streamer's configuration... i want to block all extensions from now on, but i can't easily?

    • maybe doing the threat modelling to exclude all CSRF related threats if not already done

18. Create additional separate content labels for new Artistic Nudity policy

    I suggest that the new guidelines allowing"Artistic Nudity - which concern
    fictionalized artistic depictions: Should have an Additional required Content Label besides just the generic "Sexual Themes".

    It seems that the artistic policy will be misused by users posting artistic nudity for non-artistic purposes.

    Artistically Nude content has merits and value to the art communities but is shocking for many users when full nudity is shown without specific warning and without prior context, and should be considered distinct from content which merely contains discussions or Sexual Themes, etc.

    I suggest that a technical level streams with this label should be hidden from All Directory Listings and Discovery surfaces on Twitch, Except for viewers who have "opted in" when browsing through an account setting, or users who Search for specified tags, such as an ExplicitArt tag. Or perhaps specified categories such as "Art" could have a checkbox to enable display of "Include Explicit Art Streams"

    With this latest TOS update, the only remaining difference between Twitch and Chaturbate is the fact that on the second you can masturbate on cam, which at this rate you will allow in a matter of months.
    A platform that fails to enforce its own rules is a failing platform, I honestly believe that within 2-3 years most serious streamers will have already moved to Kick or YouTube, because there will no longer be space on this platform for their content.
    Over time, Twitch will become a site intended for *********** and will remain only, as it already is now, among other things, a showcase for sponsoring your Onlyfans.
    In the space of 3 years you have gone from not being able to show your navel live, a rule that was actually too restrictive, to being able to show your naked breasts on cam, on a site NOT intended only for 18+ people (as some streamers say for fear of lose their money).
    The only thing keeping this platform going is the fact that it is part of Amazon.
