  1. JK Rowling is a vocal transphobe and promoting Hogwarts Legacy enriches her, helping her further her anti-trans agenda. Please do not run ads for this game.

    Hey all,

  2. The ad manager and 55% revenue split has been very beneficial for me personally, however I think it is only really helpful for a very small portion of streamers. My stream is compartmentalized so that I can fit my content into 1 hour periods (the max period allowed in the scheduler). The overwhelming majority of streamers playing games do not have this ability and in general from my experience most viewers would prefer extended ad breaks more infrequently during BRB periods while the streamer is not playing, than short ads interrupting content frequently.

I think that MANY more streamers could…

  3. Creators need tools that customize ad content to improve the ad viewing experience on the platform. It is a serious flaw in the system that creators do not have any input on what ad content is shown to their viewers.

To share what prompted this idea, the other night a viewer informed me that they had been shown an ad for Hogwarts Legacy. This was very upsetting, because my stream has become a haven for marginalized folks on the platform (I myself am a triple minority). The promotion of JK Rowling's media on my stream was very upsetting to my…

  4. When someone joins a channel, they get this Apple TV ad above the CHAT; they can "DISMISS" and "Don't Show Again". However, if they join a different channel, the SAME ad appears again.

Every single channels a user follows has to DISMISS and DON'T SHOW AGAIN on this ad.

Please make it STOP. We know you barely make any revenues but it makes the Twitch experience even less enjoyable.

  5. When you report an ad, maybe like saying "this isn't relevant to my interests" Stop playing it nonstop after that. Seems like a easy idea and i shouldn't have to suggest it, but your feedback is just a waste of time (At least it certainly feels like it). If I select playback issue and select "this advertisement is not relevant to my interests) (REF: Doordash) then it should play less like on Twitter/X. What is the problem here at Twitch? Seems like you have the technology, Twitter does, and it works, so Twitch should and so you can reasonably determine…

  6. Today (August 17th) a new feature has apparently rolled out because I have not experienced this before. While watching TeePee, I was keeping my volume on Twitch around 10% as I was doing some other work. When he put his Ad-Roll on (which I don't have a problem with), I was instead BLASTED by Ads sounds overriding the Twitch volume control. I was able to reset it back down, but each subsequent ad turned the volume RIGHT BACK UP.

This is completely unacceptable and forced me to turn off the stream. So if driving away viewers is the goal, then…

  7. Allow users to block ads that have flashing lights. Your advertisers should be marking any videos that have flashing lights that could trigger seizures, migraines, or headaches in users. It's the middle of 2023, this should be an option EVERYWHERE. Adding that one ad that prompted this was an ad that features flashing red warning lights with a couple sitting on a couch seat in a house setting. It has kids with hockey gear. I'll catch the company next time.

  8. Pretty simple idea. Anyone with the editor role in your channel is probably doing a lot of good work for the broadcaster, more likely than not, free of charge for the vast majority of users. Someone who is contributing to the stream shouldn't be forced to financially support the stream to be able to view the content they are potentially going to be editing later, or responding live to assist with running the stream. The should not need to subscribe.

Partners do get the ability to hand out very limited lifelong sub slots, but that doesn't really cover this purpose,…

  9. The Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act (H.R. 1084/S. 2847) (CALM Act) requires the U.S. Federal Communications Commission to bar the audio of TV commercials from being broadcast louder than the TV program material they accompany by requiring all "multichannel video programming" distributors to implement the "Techniques for Establishing and Maintaining Audio Loudness for Digital Television" issued by the international industry group Advanced Television Systems Committee.[1][2] The final bill was passed on September 29, 2010.[3] (Sick of being woke up watching a relaxing stream, by some unwanted law breaking obnoxious ad about nothing I care about!.)

  10. As a moderator for multiple channels on Twitch, I've encountered challenges in effectively managing streams while also dealing with ads. Many moderators, like myself, contribute their time and effort to support streamers without financial compensation. However, the current ad experience can disrupt our ability to efficiently moderate chats, respond to viewer inquiries, and tackle issues such as hate raids promptly.

Therefore, I propose the implementation of a Moderator Ad Exemption System, which would allow streamers to designate certain moderators to be exempt from ads during their streams. Here's how it could work:

    • Initial Exemption: Each streamer would receive one initial…

  11. I see more ads than I see the gamer play. And what's worse, it's the same ad, over and over. I don't need progressive ins, or state farm. I can find my own credit card if I wanted another. I have seen these so much that I can say word for word the script. It's no wonder that viewership has fallen like a rock.

  12. :( Either don't let horror movie ads on the platform or let people block them! When I'm watching a cozy stream before bed and suddenly get greeted with an ad of people SCREAMING and all kinds of blood and gore it's AWFUL and it makes me want to stop watching completely! I've had this experience tons of times, but today it was the Immaculate movie ad.

  13. Chevron has been listed as a sponsor for TwitchCon.

Chevron is a fossil fuel company, which means they are one of the largest contributors to climate change. Climate change is the most important issue of our time, and will result in devastating effects on the environment that will harm all living beings on Earth. The fossil fuel industry, including Chevron, has pushed intentional disinformation about climate change, with the intent of protecting their profit while knowingly harming billions of humans. Taking sponsorship money from them helps normalize their genocidal actions. This sponsorship should be cancelled and Twitch should instead tell…

  14. I'm understanding that we need ads to continue this platform, but what about making the smaller size of stream display ads? Like the Overlayed artificial ads on sports broadcasting? I hate the ads that hurt the stream's context...

  15. Recently, I've been having issues where a streamer runs 2 or 3 minutes of ads while taking a scheduled break and Twitch only shows me 15 seconds of ads or none at all during that time, but then, less than an hour later, the stream is getting interrupted by ads that the streamer is clearly not aware of. He actually makes the effort to keep the ads from ruining the experience for his viewers while trying to avoid pre-rolls for new viewers. However, lately Twitch has been running mid-roll ads at random times and not when the streamer actually runs…

  16. I was watching a livestream that was literally going to finish in 4-5 min, but instead, I had to endure a 30s ad, 10s ad, 15s ad, 15s ad, 15s ad, 15s ad, 30s ad, 15s ad, 20s ad, and finally a 15s ad. Yup, that's 10 ads in a row totaling 3 min of the end of a livestream!
A lot is said and can be missed in a short span of 30s, let alone 3 min!!!
    Absolutely unacceptable!

  18. This should be self-explanatory.
While I know pre-roll ads can be necessary, however they can be slightly annoying in the event of a streamer's stream crashing due to technical issues and needs to be restarted.
Crashes happen, and our viewers shouldn't have to watch another set of pre-roll ads if we come back within 5-10 minutes after the crash.
Sometimes these are technical issues beyond our control, other times it's just ending the stream just to fix ONE setting that takes less than a minute to fix.

If the stream comes down for one reason or another, and the streamer…

  19. Today i came to see some streamers i'm not subbed yet, i enter the stream and in that same second an ad shows up.
I change stream, ad shows up.
I go back to the first one, the same ad a third time, i close twitch.
Great way to make more and more people get less time in the platform, totally a "smart" idea by part of the owners.
Definitively this gonna help a lot to make people stay in the platform, what about, i don't know...
Make people watch AT LEAST A COUPLE MINUTES before dropping an ad?
    Because…
