  1. For those who are not familiar with Passkeys:
Passkeys are a modern security standard supported by leading companies such as Google, Paypal, Apple, Adobe, Nvidia, and Amazon(!). Instead of traditional passwords, they rely on cryptographic key pairs and digital authentication methods such as fingerprint recognition, facial recognition, PIN, or pattern. Passkeys offer a significantly simpler, faster, and more secure solution compared to conventional passwords.

Twitch, a platform that thrives on live interactions and promotes them, could greatly simplify the login process for users by introducing Passkeys. This would not only improve user-friendliness by minimizing the tedious entry of passwords but…

  2. The password requirements are truly insane for the average user. I shouldn't need a password so secure that it'd take years to *****, I need a password I can remember. This is a streaming site.

If a streamer wants a super secure password, they can make that themselves, but imposing insane guidelines on people who just want to follow a few people is super annoying.

  3. Please stop automatically turning off notifications for streamers I haven't watched for a while. At the very least, either give me an option in the email to revert the changes, or be smart enough to know which I have manually re-enabled so as to stop making them part of the next wave. I'm not on Twitch often, but I like knowing when certain friends are online, and it drives me absolutely crazy to have to go seek out each person from a long list of subs and manually re-enable the notifications every time the algorithm decides I don't need them…

  4. Enhancement Request:
User can have the functionality/ability to create and change an Alias Name, separate from the User/Streamer name as long as the user has a Twitch channel.

    For example
    User Name: JohnConnor
    URL: www.twitch.tv/johnconnor
    Alias: Jonnor

The Alias Jonnor can be displayed in the profile, in his channel and the Channel Explorer list on the Twitch homepage. And this is optional, the user can display the username as usual, or the Alias name.

This is very similar to social networking platforms, where users have their usernames and nicknames apart.

In addition, to avoid problems in the community, aliases must…

  6. As it currently stands, Twitch Partners are not allowed to request Partner Support to change their alias to anything below 4 characters. I know that I along with multiple other Twitch Partners have ran into this issue when contacting Twitch support to try and remove extra numbers or special characters from our names. It has also been equally as frustrating for me and these other Twitch Partners when these name changes are continuing to be offered to the biggest Partners on the platform, but smaller or mid sized Partners are still rejected when they ask.

    My suggestion is to allow…

  7. If a user has passed away, and this can be verified with an obituary or a death certificate, it would be nice if Twitch could auto-cancel any subscriptions coming from that channel, and give the channel a special badge that indicates that this user has passed away, or change the bio to say "Legacy Account" in front of whatever has been written in the bio (if anything), or above the username.

It may even be nice to add a comment section so people can leave a nice memory, sign a guest book, so to speak (this could be moderated by…

  8. Per the twitch policy, inactive usernames are recycled every 6 months. With that said, I have been vigilant for 3 years, attempting to acquire a username that has been inactive since its existence. This username is not someone that all ppl would want. its actually very similar to my twitch username minus 2 letters.

I would like the team to follow through on the policy and actually release the inactive usernames so that the streamers that actually put in work can utilize them for their own benefit, in turn for the benefit of the company

  9. Having a way of creating folders for groups. for example currently on the left sidebar when it shows channels live the list can span off the menu. Therefore, I am suggesting a way you can create folders such as 'Roleplay Channels' and then you can drag all those streamers into that folder. The side panel would then show a folder which we can colour or when hover displays the name to which can be expanded, to show the streamers within the folder.

  11. 2 months ago, I changed all of my usernames for privacy reasons. Now, I’ve changed every username back with the exception of twitch. Twitch is apparently only allowing you to change to new usernames, and if you want your old one back, you have to wait for SIX MONTHS. This is absolutely insane. This is completely awful for my branding, and I’m sure is for others. Having a unified brand everywhere is so important for establishing an online identity, and requiring half of a year if you want a previous username back is an absolutely ludicrous policy, especially when this…

  12. With the ongoing outbreaks of follow and hate bots "raids", the creation of multiple accounts is simply too easy to abuse on the platform. Creating an account on Twitch does not require an authentic email address before using its services: watching content, following a streamer, sending messages in streamers chats, modifying the account details, etc.

Many streamers are being harrassed by bots and "IP Grabbers" by:
    - Mass following streamers with inappropriate names and account details;
    - Mass spamming chats with obscene languages and characters (ex: racism, homophobia, transphobia, nazi, etc..);
    - Having extensions on their user profile which allows…

  13. As a viewer, I would like to be able to receive a push notification when any streamer goes live in a certain category, or with certain tags, or both! I love finding new streamers to watch, and this would help me discover more of them.

Oftentimes, there are less popular games or categories which will have low numbers of viewers, who are very dedicated to that category. If I'm a viewer who loves an older game, I would have no idea that someone new has decided to try that game unless I already followed them (or happened to be browsing…

  14. To help users manage security for their accounts: I propose the Settings > Connections page should list the specific Permissions (or OAuth scopes granted) For each account connection.

And there should be an "Edit" button. Instead of completely revoking a connection: We should have the option to Remove or withold any granted permissions/scopes of a connected app that we want On this menu.

There should also be some options to block/remove some of the requested permissions on the page at the time when initially authorizing a connection.

I propose that the Highest-risk permissions which Apps can request be made so…

  15. Why do I have to use just SMS code login options when I went through the process of verifying my email. I should be able to chose SMS or email verification and if I'm trying to change my SMS code phone number why does it send a code to the phone number I'm trying to change? why not send a email to my already verified email. When I'm trying to disable 2FA why isn't there a option to disable it via email as well? Also if you no longer have your phone number you had when you made the account…

  16. Proposal to Delete Inactive Twitch Accounts

Twitch is one of the most popular streaming platforms for video games and other content. The platform offers a wide variety of channels and streams that are visited by millions of viewers around the world.

A current issue with Twitch is the number of inactive accounts. According to estimates, up to 30% of all Twitch accounts are inactive, meaning they have not been used in over 3 years. These accounts can distort viewership numbers on Twitch and lead to misconceptions about the popularity of channels.

    Proposal

Twitch should delete inactive accounts that have not…

  17. Recently a 19 year old got susspended on Twitch indefinitley for being under age, this is not ok. Twitch should be absolutley sure about ages and not have an auto bot ban users falsly.
This idea is all about having an ID registered into the accounts when creating them, using the candidate number, date of birth, ect. Basically a debit card for paying for bits, but with an ID registering the person behind the account and also verifying their age. If the ID is renewed then Twitch should ask the user to update their details with the new ID.

  19. Many reasons against waiting 2 months to be able to change to ur username again, but I am curious about why is this even a thing????
-I am trying to find the best username for me and the one I have right now I ended up not liking
-Losing followers from the name change and still have to wait 2 months
-Trying to even find a decent username is so long n difficult so the second u change it u have to wait 2 months.
-I really can’t think of any reasons on why this is even a thing

  20. Users should be given priority to revert back to their old username once it becomes available rather than having to hope they can get it back. Also, users should NOT have to wait 6 months to try to get their name back. They should be allowed to revert back to their old name after the regular 60 day wait for a name change.

Also, Twitch NEEDS to update the warning when you go to change your username! Saying your username "will be released back into the pool of available usernames after 6 months" is not descriptive enough. I thought that…
