Make email verification mandatory With the ongoing outbreaks of follow and hate bots "raids", the creation of multiple accounts is simply too easy to abuse on the platform. Creating an account on Twitch does not require an authentic email address before using its services: watching content, following a streamer, sending messages in streamers chats, modifying the account details, etc.
Many streamers are being harrassed by bots and "IP Grabbers" by:
- Mass following streamers with inappropriate names and account details;
- Mass spamming chats with obscene languages and characters (ex: racism, homophobia, transphobia, nazi, etc..);
- Having extensions on their user profile which allows…1,076 votes -
password requirements The password requirements are truly insane for the average user. I shouldn't need a password so secure that it'd take years to *****, I need a password I can remember. This is a streaming site.
If a streamer wants a super secure password, they can make that themselves, but imposing insane guidelines on people who just want to follow a few people is super annoying.

Too easy to register new accounts on here when a user gets blocked To easy to register fake emails on here and harass someone defiantly need to not make it easy to create multiple user accounts on here which ultimately will lead to malicious activities.

Countermeasures against deactivated accounts A large number of bot accounts have been following me to an account of a friend of mine and then deactivating the account.
They only activate accounts when they are harassing me.
When I try to report them, I can't even report them because they are already disabled.
Blocking and banning cannot be done from the screen because they are disabled as well.
Account deactivation is being abused.
In addition, accounts that have been followed and deactivated cannot be retrieved in the Twitch API's "Channels/Followers", so it is not easy to take action against the account in question.
We would…108 votes -

User Account Age Verification When a user makes an account under Settings > Security and Privacy Have the user request for age verification to few streamers that are marked as 18+ this will lower the chanses of having a viewer under the age of 17. not saying it will stop it 100% but it will help ID the users that are over the age of 18.

Child account The idea is that we would have the ability to create “child” accounts that must be linked to a “normal” account where we could set it so that we have to manually approve content creators for them to watch. Unapproved content creators would not even show up in the home page feed.
Included in the child account management should also be the ability to view a report of what they watched, for how long, and when.
Of course child safe ads would have to be used.On twitches end, this would be a good gateway to getting the next generation…

I have a payment method on file I shouldnt have to verify my age any other way Why does twitch need my biometrics to prove my age when I have a VALID PAYMENT METHOD ON FILE. You can't HAVE a paypal unless you are a minimum age of 18 years old, and you acknowledge in my own settings that my account is connected to paypal. I have gotten SEVERAL payouts to that same payment method. I am not going to give you my biometrics. Change this, its nonsensical, thanks.

Raise the mininum age from 13 to 16 There has been so much infighting about children on the platform and it needs to be addressed. Under the Terms of Service (ToS) The minimum age requirement to view and create an account on Twitch is 13.
This is becoming problematic on the site as streamers are being told to make their content suitable for an audience they don't cater to, and there has been an increase in trolling streamers.
It's not a cure-all but I strongly believe that increasing the minimum age requirement from 13 to 16 will help in resolving this. It will (hopefully) signal to parents that…

My email domain name has been blocked and I cannot register an account. Hello, I am the owner of the xinq.top email address. Today, 2024/12/19, I want to continue to register an account to purchase a subscription to receive drops. I found that my email address has been banned from registering. I have not used the registered account for any illegal behavior, such as selling, renting, leasing, transferring, sharing, or providing access to your account as stated in the agreement. All registered accounts are for personal use only, and registering a large number of accounts is only for drops. Please unblock my xinq.top email address.I promise that I will not use my account…

Two step verification for name change Please make a two step verification for when you want to change or update your username. There’s this beautiful thing called autocorrect and 9/10 every username is not a common word and something made up so when you type in the username fast, sometimes it autocorrects. (I know it’s crazy huh?) so maybe you should do a two step verification to VERIFY that the username wanted doesn’t have a typo. And waiting 2 months to reset it? WHAT A JOKE please do better

Personal Verification & Account Approval This may require a bigger team of course to implement, but I just signed up for a freelance website and the sign up process, is actually an application to use this site. I was required to verify my identity via uploading a photo of my ID AND a verifying statement such as a paystub, utility bill, etc. And also address verification (or at least a mailing/billing address) which should be added to the account anyways since payment information is stored for subscriptions.
I know that twitch has a younger population so that may not work, but it may also be…

Verify someone owns the email address they sign up with, before creating the account I currently get regular spam from this site as people sign up using my email address, and I have to delete the accounts myself.
It would be better (and standard practice) to force the email verification to be a mandatory part of account creation.

Change the display name to any language without language restrictions. Any issues related to display name restrictions should be resolved with this suggestion, provided that the official team is willing to implement it.
Currently, display names can be changed to Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and other languages, but not all languages are supported. I hope it can support all languages.
Additionally, I want to use Chinese along with English, yet English is somehow restricted? I can’t even use a combination of Chinese + English as my display name? I find this quite absurd.
If the official team cannot lift all restrictions at once, I hope they can gradually update this feature,…

Anti bot attack prevention Hello very good, as a result of the constant attacks of bots to both large and small channels, to save the constant reports of the streamers themselves and the denunciation of such attacks, I would like you to implement a CAPTCHA as a security measure which can save or prevent such attacks and somehow end this annoying process that makes content creators want to give up in some cases since they can be a constant harassment. Thanks for the inconvenience
