Incentivize Enhanced Broadcasting with a 10% Revenue Split Bonus
The core purpose of Enhanced Broadcasting (EB) is to save Twitch money on transcoding. Incentivizing EB adoption would not only offload Twitch's transcoding infrastructure costs, but also put more money in creators' pockets while strengthening Twitch's relationship with the broader creator community.
Quick refresher: EB shifts the work of creating multiple stream qualities from Twitch's servers to your PC's graphics card. Instead of sending one feed for Twitch to transcode, your PC encodes up to 5 qualities at once, and viewers automatically get the best resolution for their connection.
My proposal: a flat 10% bump to the revenue split for EB users, applied on top of your existing Plus Program tier:
50/50 with EB becomes 60/40
60/40 with EB becomes 70/30
70/30 with EB becomes 80/20
The 80/20 would be achievable ONLY through EB, giving even top Plus Program streamers a reason to adopt it.
This proposal aligns streamer and platform incentives around a single action—enabling EB.
The bonus would apply per stream: enable EB and you earn it; disable it and the 10% is dropped for those streams until you turn it back on. This would NOT replace the Plus Program—it runs alongside it. Everyone wins when EB is on.

A 10% revenue split bonus is a practical way to incentivize enhanced broadcasting because it directly rewards creators and partners for increasing audience engagement and delivering high-quality content. By aligning financial incentives with performance, this approach encourages innovation, consistency, and long-term collaboration while motivating broadcasters to expand their reach and improve viewer experiences.
