  1. YouTube has an Audio Library for its creators. I have not found any such thing on Twitch, and I think it would greatly help creators. Instead of just muting their content, maybe have a link and a statement that says something like "we have content here that you can use instead..."

  2. I have found a username that appears to be available but is blocked within your system due to an error.

The error shown is: "This user name may be offensive and is not allowed."

I have attempted to report this several times since October and have been met with the same policies regarding recycling and name changes when it does not apply to this situation.

If there is one name that is incorrectly being caught in your filter I'd assume other users may have this problem as well. If a username IS available and IS appropriate for use then I…

More Info Needed  ·  Twitch responded

    Hey there,

What username are you trying to use that is getting caught? I can reach out to our team to troubleshoot what's going on with this.

  3. Gambling streams such as those hosted by poker channels should be behind an authorisation wall. Gambling addictions are severe and those who struggle with them deserve to be able to enjoy Twitch without being drawn in by these channels.

  4. When trying to report bugs on Twitch, the bug report dropdown menus are so restrictive/incomplete, that most of the time it is impossible to accurately report a bug, forcing users to instead make a "feature request" on here detailing the problem. Only allowing users to report a very narrow subset of bugs turns people away from helping developers with finding bugs.

  5. Ban people who send hate raids for longer or permanently. Hate raids are intentional and planned and are bad for the community. Hate raids against high profile streamers will always gain the person some support because the higher the profile person the more people there will be who also don't like them. Being soft on hate raiders will incentives harassment as an avenue to gain an audience and reward people for harassment as they will have popularity and attention for it when they return in 2 weeks time.
If harassment is incentivised more people will do it and twitch community…

  6. Top streamers get banned for less than a weekend for every kind of offense, DMCA included, only to come back and get more attention and money thrown at them for blatantly violating the ToS. What kind of message does it send that nearly every top streamer on Twitch right now has received some number of bans? As it is now streamers might as well get banned on purpose, because currently it's paid PTO with a raise on return to work. Stop catering to the top streamers and actually make your bans consistent and of a consequential length.

  7. I recently was follow botted again. A pretty recent update to twitch security added the option of only allowing verified accounts to type in chat. I believe we need an option that goes a step further to prevent follow bots entirely. The option is simple. Please give the streamer the option of requiring a verified phone number to follow their stream. That would remove any chance of someone follow botting because they will not have hundreds of verified accounts. And if they did they could be easily identified and dealt with.

  8. Some streamers have been using bots for years. Bots are sitting in the viewer list with female nicknames and avatars. Those who come to their channel end up on the restream of the owner of the bot network. These streams run around the clock and their owners use hundreds of bots, automatikly sending them to EVERY stream.Twitch does nothing. For example, such a network of bots (date is time of report):

  9. For at least the meantime while the follow hate bots are a thing... Make creating new accounts have a mandatory cooldown before they can follow an option since many of the accounts that do the hate follow to get around current protections are created same day.

  10. This entire concept is counter productive and makes the chat experience awkward. I understand that streamers do this to prevent kids from being in mature streams but this actually makes this problem worse because now you have a bunch of potential children watching adult streams and they know not to mention their age! What is the logic here?!?! Plus mature adults want to know how old the people are that they're chatting with. It's a very common topic and something that people WANT to know since the beginning of the internet , A/S/L ? Age chat should NOT be discouraged…

  11. "Hateful conduct is any content or activity that promotes or encourages discrimination, denigration, harassment, or violence based on the following protected characteristics: race, ethnicity, color, caste, national origin, immigration status, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, serious medical condition, and veteran status." - Twitch Community Guidelines (As of 30 September 2021)

By that metric, global emotes such as "TriHard" and "cmonBruh" should be removed as they primarily serve to spread anti-black racism throughout the community. Any honest twitch user can attest to this. I see no reasonable excuse for keeping them.

  12. We've all noticed the follow bot/hate raid stuff lately and quite frankly this is getting tiresome. I have some simple ideas that'll help with these issues that should keep the community safer than they already are.

    1. Allow users to disable the ability for follows to happen on their channel without the following account already being verified/enabling 2FA, or even exist for a set amount of time, a time chosen by the user. Could be 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, etc.

    2. Give users the option to disable hosts and raids from any users that that haven't verified their account/have enabled…

  13. If someone is banned from a channel (not blocked) they should not be able to follow the channel. This should help limit the amount of bot spam and harassment attacks by making bad actors not be able trigger alerts or flood channels with follow bots.

Another option would be to have an option to block banned channels automatically and having ban apeals as a separate form rather than just messaging the channel.

It is beyond frustrating to get 20+ bots follow you in half an hour each with a simular name, some with blantant slurs.

  14. "Under attack mode" to get rid of all bots.

Twitch should introduce an "under attack mode" similar to the one in Cloudflare that many sites use. If you are exposed to an attack by bots, you switch on the attack mode and everyone who then tries to reach the site must first solve a captcha (in twitch cases, everyone who wants to write in the chat). Then all bots will be filtered out.
When the attack is gone, which is usually 20min-30min, this mode is turned off and everything is as usual again.

This is better than having your stream…

  15. Logs should only be available to the moderation team and the existence of third party websites that are using bots to constantly save chatlogs represents a potential security problem for the user. They shouldn't be publicly available

In this specific case I'm talking about, https://logs.ivr.fi/ that uses a twitch irc bot easily available in, https://github.com/gempir/justlog

I hope there is a way to control this or at least make it harder to setup.

  16. Greetings,

I am unable to find where to submit feedback about reports of streamer violations not being acted upon. That is, Twitch's platform moderation ignoring reported TOS violations. There needs to be a way to contact someone higher up when this is occurring.

The specific reports being ignored are of streamers violating the "Nudity and Attire" rules in Just Chatting, some every stream, whoever is receiving reports of this is not doing anything because the streams continue without being moved to Pools, Hot Tubs & Beaches category.

    Please get better moderators.

"For all streamers, you must cover the area extending…

  17. As Slot / Gambling Streamers appear more and more there should be a safety option for those none streaming people that are gambling. There should be a way to step out lock down the Slot categorys and channels for 30 days / 90 days / 1 year to help those people stepping away from gambling. Slot streamers are a big risk for everyone… specialy for young people. Most people think they can do the same and win every day and it is very easy to get to the same status as the streamer cash wise… But most of them will…

  18. Provide a tool for streamers to manually mute selected parts of the VOD, and allowing the streamer, while in live, to press a button to flag in timeline the current stream time where could possibly leak a unwanted song.

  20. Just like you created the new Category, "Pools, Hot tubs, and Beaches" because of the excessive demand, you also NEED to create a "Troll Jail" for all viewers who abuse, harass, or 'troll' your Twitch Streamers!
The number of Trolls have become quite excessive, and simply 'banning' an abusive viewer from a single streamer, ONE, that banned viewer can still see and hear the streamer, TWO, that viewer can jump into another streamer, and continue his\her harassment!
You need to create an algorithm that bans that viewer COMPLETELY FROM TWITCH! Perhaps create, along with your current "banned flag", a count…
