2. Chat filter that bans new accounts

   Please make a chat filter which allows you to ban users with brand new accounts or accounts that are X days/hours/weeks old (give the streamer a choice.) It will prevent people from harassing streamers who just make new accounts after they've been banned and continue to harass.

3. Copyright on games even though Producer/ Director says its fine.

   I was wondering why is DMCA still being used when the director of the game say that it is fine to stream the content along with the music that is being used. It still doesn't click at all? 4. Viewers should be able to report copyright misuse rather than relying on the copyright owner

   Currently, only the owner of the work or the agency on behalf of the rights holder can submit a DCMA claim on a stream or a VOD.

   However, as a viewer of a few channels, it's clear that some streamers are actively streaming music and video from services like YouTube and Spotify on a regular basis. Attempting to report these streamers links to pages with information with how to report, but "only if it's my work that's being infringed"

   One such user was so blasé about their infringement that they openly claimed on stream that "it doesn't matter about DMCA because Twitch will just mute that portion of the VOD". Of course, no DMCA strikes have been issued on that channel (well, none they have publicly mentioned, and because of the fact that they still regularly stream copyrighted material)

   I propose a website and rule change such that any channel viewer can flag a stream or VOD for review where the streamer is using copyrighted material.

   Granted, this can be abused and so perhaps, if there are too many claims from a single user where the claim was reported falsely, then some penalty can be issued to the reporting user but only in false claims. Reporting users should have the ability to comment or appeal claims they have made with supporting evidence, for example, the ability to point to a timestamp where it's blatantly obvious that copyright infringement is occurring.

5. Not enough to make Twitch to a safe place

   Hello Twitch and other readers

   unfortunatly many bot-accounts are around and new one are creating at the moment. Some friends, other streamers are targeted with attacks with bot-accounts.

   They have something to do from your side twitch, specially that some Bots have tools to get the IP from people who visit the Accountpage ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdyBV3Zoa0Y ) should be a signal for u to investigate fast as possible.

   In the last few days/weeks i experience that hoss00312 are around i followed (and unfollowed) me with multiple accounts.
   What do you suggest to do, when people experience something like that? I know there are tools (who should be available from you and not from 3rd persons) to remove fake-followers but i'm sure, we can do more? Maybe give an information per mail and in Dashboard to tell the community what we can do, to stop the issue.

   My suggestions:
   - Limit that only 3 Accounts (or less) per Email
   - Make the creation of an account more complicated (two-factor verify for example)
   - After 1 day and 1 months after creation of an account the account have to verify by a mail, SMS or what else again, to prove, that a person are behind
   - A website botreport.twitch.com where people can report accounts easier than now. Maybe a team of volunteer checking reported accounts (sending a verifymail if the situation are unsure) and ban them.

7. Please don't let banned chatters be able to follow

   If someone is banned from a channel (not blocked) they should not be able to follow the channel. This should help limit the amount of bot spam and harassment attacks by making bad actors not be able trigger alerts or flood channels with follow bots.

   Another option would be to have an option to block banned channels automatically and having ban apeals as a separate form rather than just messaging the channel.

   It is beyond frustrating to get 20+ bots follow you in half an hour each with a simular name, some with blantant slurs.

8. Allow only selective bot to be in chat and auto ban all other bots as they arrive

   Could you have the ability to list the bots (Streamer approved bot list) that are allowed to be in that streamer's channel and then for all other bot account to be auto ban the moment they start watching.

   As a mod I have been using https://twitchinsights.net/bots to check if accounts are bots and then banning any that show up as bots before they talk in chat. The Hoss bot is just creating so many account it disrupting many streams now.

   Also could you have another setting to alow streams to chose to have any account that is watching more than about 20 streams at a time auto banned if they are not on the streamer's approved bot list. As I am guessing the bots will try to hid that they are bots if the first part of this suggestion is put in place.

9. Report Users without clicking on their username

   There is a clear and present epidemic of bot accounts on Twitch (eg: The innumerable 'hoss_###' accounts) harassing streamers and viewers on Twitch, especially smaller content creators.

   These bots are using a malicious third-party extension which can capture and log users' IP addresses whenever said user clicks on their name in chat, to view information about them as a user or views their channel.

   Since the report feature currently requires clicking on a user's name, this exploit undermines users' ability to moderate and combat these bot accounts. There are ways of banning these users directly from chat, such as Nightbot, but this does not solve the problem as the users themselves still exist and cannot be reported without potentially falling victim to their exploit.

   Implementing a separate web form to report users by their username, here in the Twitch Support pages, would assist greatly in ensuring these malicious actors are identified and properly taken care of.

    why can people make accounts like this? there is someone making tons of variants on "fat_streamer" to harass people. prevent this from happening.

11. Hate Raids

    I have been working on a solution for the hate raids problem, a problem that led streamers into going for a strike. I have been able to come up with a solution which I believe could solve the problem.
    The solution has to deal with using the Channel-Banned Terms Filter.

     First, we gather other alphabet (Greek, Latin, etc.) and signs that look like the English alphabet and arrange them based on the alphabet they look like, basically creating an array for each English alphabet and the letters that look like them.

    Second, we write code that is able to swap letters in a word. Let us say a streamer adds the word ‘die’ to his channel-banned terms, we should be able to write a script that will swap the first letter ‘d’ to all other letters that look like ‘d’, and do same for ‘i’ and ‘e’. This will end up creating all possible combinations of the letters in the word ‘die’, for example; ‘đíê’, ‘Ðīɛ’.

    Last but not least, we add all words created from the combination of the letters to the channel-banned terms, this way, it will be really difficult to trick the system into typing a banned word. This is my solution.

    I already have written a script that can do all this automatically, all you have to do is add the word to the channel-banned terms, I can give it to you guys if you want.

12. Shadowban Bots by pattern

    Should be simple: have something similar to automod check for known and reported bot messages and their pattern. If it matches, rather than blocking or reporting the account automatically, just cause the suspicious message to be hidden from anyone but the sender.

    Additionally, after 1 month of their infraction, lock the suspect's account and try to make a direct contact with them.

    Another thing to do would be to change Verified → Partner and create an actual Verified Account status that marks accounts that are confirmed to be actual users rather than bots.

13. Advertisers and Sponsors Pay Copyright royalties.

    Why not get together with the Msuic and Movie copyright managment companies ans such, so that you can work out an agreement that allows copyright owners to be paid, and Twitch isns't being sued and spending tons in that effort.

    This would pave the way for people to be able to use music, and show things without violation of copyrights. At no time should broadcasters/streamers be given any of that revenue. Why? Simple, the content is not owned by them.

    If you can have systems monitor for violations, just set them to place links within the video, and in the descripotion of the video as well. These would link to say AMAZON legit places to buy the content being used.

    In effect instead of it being a negative, use the fact people like the content enough listen to it ir show it as free advertisment for the links that allow others whom may be hearing or seeing something for the first time.

    I get this will be a huge undertaking, and that copyrights are very complex in many cases. However, what is less complex is the fact you can turn a chash poor situation into a very profitable one, and provide another benefit/feature for people to broadcast and chillax on Twitch.

    Let the companies whom wish to profit off of the userbase here cover these expenses.

    A raid-allow whitelist of channels, that is toggled on/off, will allow streamers to control the channels that are allowed to raid, removing one of the current threats to safety for marginalized communities trying to operate on Twitch in the context of hate raiders often performed by bot accounts.

16. Third party websites recording chat logs

    Logs should only be available to the moderation team and the existence of third party websites that are using bots to constantly save chatlogs represents a potential security problem for the user. They shouldn't be publicly available

    In this specific case I'm talking about, https://logs.ivr.fi/ that uses a twitch irc bot easily available in, https://github.com/gempir/justlog

    I hope there is a way to control this or at least make it harder to setup.

18. CAPTCHA Solver for Follows / Non-Followers

    Many ideas have been discussed here about adding 2FA as a next level security for accounts to verify they're legit and not just a spam bot account and chat. (See: https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/933812-safety/suggestions/41306257-adding-2fa-to-chat-as-optional-filter)

    What I propose here that is different those ideas is adding a CAPTCHA solver puzzle for people who want to follow a channel. And I'm not talking about those silly Text Based CAPTCHA solver puzzles that are distorted with upper and lower case characters and other things, but an image based CAPTCHA solver puzzle.

    1. New followers will have to solve a CAPTCHA, a One-time Only process before the follow goes through.

    2. Non-Followers sending chat messages to channels will have to solve a CAPTCHA in order to post messages in chat, and is NOT One-time Only, and will have to redo a CAPTCHA every 45 Minutes.

    3. Regulars, VIPs, and Subscribers are immune to needing to solve a CAPTCHA portal to post messages in chat, providing they have verified their email and phone number on their account, and that their accounts are older than 90 days, and already completed a One-time Only CAPTCHA portal.

    With these 3 things, this will mitigate the most common types of abuse, bot spams, bot follows, hate raids, etc... Requiring the user to solve a CAPTCHA portal would need to be an essential feature globally enforced to prevents these things happening on the platform in light with what's going on with all the hate raids that are going on, it would also enhance safety of its users on the platform from abuse, harassment, etc...

19. Analysis of a Hate Raid Bot account & Technical Solutions to Solve this Problem

    I'm a Twitch moderator for 3 small Affiliate streamers. I'm also a former tech support escalations agent for multiple companies & have a business degree, & I do free small business consulting to help small streamers reach Affiliate, start their streaming business, & grow their own communities on Twitch, because I think people have potential to work for themselves doing a job they enjoy & that Twitch has a lot of potential to be a platform to help them do it.

    It was the community potential that made me spend the last 10 months learning the platform to help others who were just getting started & that's why I'd rather not leave, I'd rather just help Twitch Do Better with practical solutions based on my insight, because bots are a complicated issue with a lot of factors that are hard to manage, & these particular bots are more sophisticated than simple chat spam bots.

    So I've evaluated how the hate raid bots operate by studying one that follow/unfollowed my streamer & others that caught my attention while I waited for the report to be actioned & for Twitch to shut it down. These bots are exploiting vulnerabilities within Twitch to keep coming back, hosting Twitch Partners to harvest IPs & spread from their popularity & viewers to find tagged accounts to hate raid.

    They hide from the search algorithms so they don't come up under a name search & instead reroute to a dormant, inactive, randomly chosen twitch account they base their names off of. These bots have also already caused at least one small non-affiliate streamer to get banned by Twitch & have to fight to be reinstated, & if Hoss00312 hadn't gone on a twitter rant & linked his twitter on his Twitch page, I wouldn't have known he was actually a victim of the bot problem & not a participant.

    Hate raid bot Hoss00312_ gained over 10k followers in the 18 hours I monitored it waiting for my report to be actioned, because there was no category that made sense to report a bot that never chatted & nothing about its page or content was the problem, so I had to go for a vague "something else" category which likely put it at a lower priority.

    And streamers don't seem to understand a ban doesn't block anything but chat & these bots in particular un-ban themselves, come back, & follow again & again waiting for the day they use a tag to conduct a hate raid. Banning is incredibly easy & the reporting is complicated & overwhelming particularly to someone who's either shocked or upset or afraid, so streamers haven't been submitting reports for Twitch to actually review the accounts, just muting them from blasting their chat.

    Below is the practical back end technical changes that Twitch can make that will resolve a lot of issues, help Twitch streamers & viewers understand & utilize the the reporting process, get rid of at least this type of sophisticated hate raid bot & help prevent & manage others that come up in the future.

    1- These bots are hosting Twitch Partners to harvest IPs & hunt for targets who stream with identity tags to hate raid.

    Solution- Bring back the ability for streamers & moderators to see who is hosting their page in the Stream Manager & the option to manually remove themselves from being hosted.
    

    Add a pop up "why do you want to be unhosted from this channel?" with options including "Suspected bot account" & make that create a report for Twitch Support to review with a link to block the account.
    If a 3+ month dormant streamer account is added to an auto host list, trigger an email telling them.
    

    2- People believe enough bans & public outcry will trigger Twitch Support to look into an account which demotivates them to report & block

    Solution- Lower the threshold for bans on an account to trigger a report to Twitch to investigate, accounts catching 50+ bans an hour are either a bot or a toxic chat troll.
    

    Rename "ban" to "mute" & give a pop up asking if the account needs to be reported for hate speech/hostility or as a bot so users better understand that they need to report it to Twitch Support for review.
    

    3- The reporting process is a complicated tech tree with too many options. It's easy to ban & make it "not my problem anymore" & difficult to report a problem account to get Twitch to investigate.

    Solution- Simplify the reporting process, start with WHAT the problem is, then WHERE the problem is with a text box at the bottom for added notes. Make it easy for people to report bot accounts & let back end keyword algorithms filter it down the tech tree to the right department in Twitch Support for review.
    

    Add an internal flag on accounts that spam-report multiple streamers across multiple days to investigate for potential reporting abuse.
    

    4- Hate raid bots fill chat with hate speech & the only option for streamers to spare their followers & themselves is to clear chat for the whole stream, which impacts their content & ability of other streamers or viewers to report.

    Solution- Take away "Clear chat" & replace it with "Blackout chat," add censor boxes to the last 2 minutes of chat & time out all chatters for 5 minutes to give everyone a time to submit reports.
    

    Add a subcategory to "View Recent Raids" to see all chat names that came with the raid & a "Report this Raid" mass report/ban/block option.
    

    5- The hate raid bots don't show up in search & scapegoat legitimate accounts & open multiple gibberish string screen name bot accounts to conduct hate raids.

    Solution- Internally flag multiple close variations of a name & random gibberish string names so any reports on those accounts are automatically set at a higher urgency for a review of the chain of accounts.
    

    Check your search priority algorithms to see how bots at 25k+ follows are evading search results.
    

    6- Hate raid bots gain followers & grow extremely fast, sometimes 1k follows an hour.

    Solution- Flag accounts that gain follows too fast to be organic growth or human effort for review, add an exception for accounts that actively stream content to account for popularity growth.
    

    I'm a Twitch moderator for 3 small Affiliate streamers. I'm also a former tech support escalations agent for multiple companies & have a business degree, & I do free small business consulting to help small streamers reach Affiliate, start their streaming business, & grow their own communities on Twitch, because I think people have potential to work for themselves doing a job they enjoy & that Twitch has a lot of potential to be a platform to help them do it.

20. No limiting report tools ( Partners/Affiliates/Known Users )

    Currently right now if you report a bunch of ban evading accounts , bot accounts you are limited to 50 accounts ( per 30 minutes/per day - it really depends ).

    My idea is to allow no limit on reports for partners affiliates and known accounts ( 90 days ). I feel with this sorta arrangement people will be more wanting to use it vs avoiding it.

    It would also be nice to be able to get back a message saying what account in question was removed/suspended/actioned on so we better clearly know what account. ( I do know that sharing information about how long the ban isn't a thing ).

    Another thing with reporting bots I would like to be able to upload a txt file with usernames or userid's. example of how that txt file should be formatted is 1 username per line ( 10MB max of txt - that's about 300k accounts ).
