adding 2fa to chat as optional filter
Enable 2FA as a chat optional requirement for users to be required to have 2fa before typing in a users stream chat. This would drastically reduce the number of times a banned user will try to evade a ban to harass a streamer / disrupt chat.
On top of this it would drastically increase awareness on 2fa. Being optional it wouldn't force people or streamers to turn it on or use it. This could also help people who have 18+ Mature content streams reduce the number of people under 18 from engaging.
As 2fa already exists within the twitch platform and is required for affiliated/partnered streamers enabling this to a chat setting would be pretty easy for a developer to add into a code
Its already clearly a pretty popular idea

Not sure if its just me - but if I ban someone from my community for whatever reason is valid to protect me and my community, 99% of the time I do not care and am not invested in finding out if their accounts banned (if it is for a serious offence like a threat I will of course report the account).
I do care however if they continue consume my content, evade bans, and try interact with me and my community members by making multiple accounts.

Trust and safety is so important on twitch. I would love streamers to be able to control who is in chat.
The gap between hateful conduct on twitch, harassment and the actual streamer can only do so much.
I would like a tool like 2FA to be a filter in twitch chat to make sure its unique people typing in chat.
The policy that exists can get an account banned or suspended when reported, but it isn't preventing a user from circumventing bans and coming back into a chat. And this is where the problem is with users facing harassment on Twitch.
Currently, no public tools prevent a user from making 30 accounts to come back into a stream and talk to a streamer.Follower only modes - more often hurt streamers and community growth and ultimately those banned users will end up back in chat and hurt new people from discovering streamers. 2FA as an optional chat filter helps maintain a communities safety

I want to foster a positive community that offers a safe space and has unique members, I don't want one negative user to make ten accounts get blocked ten times and make ten new ones to harass my community or other communities like mine on the platform (with a catch all email address this is VERY easy to do).
Having 2fa hugely increases the positive reactions in chat, having this be optional means it is Optional for a streamer to turn on or off.
This has already been implemented on other platforms like discord.
Follow only modes I find are very restrictive for streamers growth - I understand them but there has to be a way similar to what I've suggested perhaps to make the platform more engaging, and safer for everyone.Reasons I came up with this feature
- Twitch already uses 2FA
- Twitch already has chat optional features as an option -
