Proper DM System, not our current Whisper System. I'd really love a proper DM system similar to other social sites, group chats, good comms, stable software etc. Personally love Instagram and twitter format, but ours really... sucks. I have ZERO incentive to use Twitch as a means of communication. I run a lot of giveaways for big streamers and have to DM people which usually results in a blacklist because im messaging too many people, hence why I never use whispers and just ask people to DM me on other platforms. Subs and non subs list Please add a way to see in a list or 2 lists to show who are subs and who are not so that you can see if you want to give subs to the community how many to give, so that you don't give more than can become subs,

Could you implement a way to highlight a certain word or another users chat? Suggestion:
Add a way for a user to highlight specific words or users in chat.Reason:
I find myself trying to read certain users comments/topics, but they often get lost in the general chat stream. This often happens when the channel has a moderator running the chat portion of the stream while the person on camera is talking. The ability to highlight a user or a certain word would help locate them in a busy chat situation.Thanks

Streamers eyes only chat mode So as a mainly RP watcher. You can quickly see people who jump from stream to stream and be so toxic to the streamers. Not only does this affect the streamers but ultimately everyone. My idea is this
• Have a streamers eyes only chat mode
Right now we have subs only and bans etc. But it doesn't really help people will go on and on about it and fuel it. If only the streamer could see it it would eliminate chat to chat Arguments. And be less toxic. Just a idea but I think it would work wonders. Thanks

Similar to Settings in Security and Privacy to Hide Progressive Gifter Badge and Gifts Given Count. This would allow people to still be recognized for their gift when it happens, without that gift being up for all to see for a long period of time for those you like a little more privacy and a little less negative pressure from other viewers.7 votes -
Multiple Chat Channels Some streamers with huge numbers have no choice but to have chat in sub only mode. What if you had two chats, all-chat, and a sub only chat, and the streamer could decide which they wanted to look at, whilst the entire community could still communicate with one another.

@mention another user in chat Can you please add a feature to quickly mention a user in chat?
For now the only option is to type out "@" and their nickname which is
1) slow;
2) inconvenient when chatting in another keyboard layout as you need to switch it twice just to mention someone.
It seems like an obvious feature and adding it would improve chatting experience a lot.2 votes -
chat rules when you click to chat in the first time in a stream, the chat rules appears, and I think the majority of people don't actually read the rules, and a good idea would be that the streamer sets an amount of time that the chat rules stay there, then people actually read the rules.

Command Chat This idea specifically pertains to command driven channels, like Twitch Plays Pokemon, SaltyBet, and the like. Generally in channels like this it becomes very difficult to read conversation when the chat is flooded by commands, and depending on the channel, bot responses to those commands.
My suggestion would be to grant channel owners the option to have a bot/command specific chat log, perhaps with a simple vertical separation from the standard chat, so as to separate commands from conversation.

Old/new badges There are a ton of really cool global badges that are no longer obtainable due to Twitch no longer selling games on the site. Seems a shame that these icons were created by some talented staff but nearly no one has them.

Persistent Follower-Only Chat status indicator Allow the "Follower-only Chat (!)" warning to be shown on ALL channels, regardless of you currently following the channel or not following it.
Currently, you only see this notice when you do not follow the channel that is using Follower-only chat. Upon following, this warning/notice goes away forever.
This creates two issues:
Streamers very often forget their chat is in follower-only mode for days or weeks because there's no visual indicator on the webpage UI unless you click into the cog-wheel menu. This may cause reduced chat activity or leave a bad impression for new viewers.

Likeable Chat Likeable chat messages. We must get a chance to like a chat message while we are watching a stream. And we will be able to see who gets most likes or dislikes. In my opinion, it definitely provides much more chatting, viewers. You should get this feature, you should make it happen.

Channel Points Leaderboard Provide two leaderboards for channels that have Points enabled.
One leaderboard for all-time obtained points, and one leaderboard for currently most held points.
There could also be a sub/non-sub leaderboard? This idea is more optional though. I'm really aiming for the all-time and currently held leaderboards.

Indicate the use of a channel restricted word in chatbox (before entering) It is quite annoying to type in chat, and find out that you have used a restricted word in this streamers chat. It would be useful if the the restricted word would show or be marked red instantly(before entering). This makes it possible to rephrase the sentence to allow it being posted in chat.

Remove timestamps from VODs Remove timestamps from VODs. You used to be able to turn them off, but since they've taken away the chatbox there is no settings wheel to turn them off

Longer Poll Durations :3 I would love to have an option for longer polls (longer than the 3 minute duration), to have laid back, kind of "question of the day" polls. Perhaps up to 30 minutes or 1 hour, with the option to close the poll manually~
