  1. This has been a great new feature that Twitch has added recently that has helped so many people gain new followers.

One thing that I think its lacking is a queue system. I understand that the shoutout needs to have a cooldown but often times multiple raids come in at the same time and being unable to shout out both people means that one gets the shoutout and we forget to do the other one when the cooldown is up. Even adding a queue system of up to 5 streamers would be extremely helpful in making sure everyone gets the…

  2. Live Chat translation. I understand there is a variety of languages out there that people speak and only certain channels will allow x amount of languages due to chat moderation and such. But it would be a cool feature for mods to be able to use or for chat users/streamers to be able to interact with the community more! Instead of just saying we don’t allow that language or so the user doesn’t have to translate it using a 3rd party app. Ik there is extensions you can use but would be nice feature for twitch to have. Amazon did…

  3. Or at least give streamers the authority to enable or disable it. But the ENTIRE point was how it stood out with color. Plain black with italics just renders it useless.

    Hey all,

Thank you for the patience with us on this. This has been one of the most popular ideas on UserVoice and we definitely heard your feedback.

Today we launched /announcement for mods and streamers. Announcements can be used in chat to highlight a message and are available in 4 different colors along with the channel accent color. Because this is only part of the ask of this idea we are setting this idea to partial release so the community can continue to leave feedback on this.

  4. I know Twitch says the feature seemed to cause a decrease in viewership during their testing, but there are so many other factors that can affect that and many streamers who got to try out the chant feature really enjoyed it. I think it’d be better to make it an optional feature rather than remove it entirely, and let people decide on their own if it works for their channel.

  5. I would appreciate a very helpful feature for a lot of streams.

    Feature/Requirements:

    1) Make verifications and a verified status available for every user
    2) Mark verified users with a badge on the profile page
    3) Mark verified users with a badge in the chat
    4) Implement a /verifiedonly chat mode
    5) Link multiple accounts to the same verification

    Pros:

With the above mentioned features Twitch would become a safer and nicer place for everyone.
With the option for users to verify their accounts with their ID card, driver's license, or Amazon account and a chat mode for verified users…

  6. TLDR; Twitch members would really benefit from users having an option to add phonetic spelling to their profile.

Whenever someone comes into chat, I like to ask how their name is pronounced. This often means that new followers’ first message is how their name is pronounced, or lurking users may be pulled out of their lurk to explain how it is pronounced. For some, requests like this may even be microaggressive.

A solution to this would be an opt-in feature for phonetic spelling, where the phonetic spelling of the username is available on their page and when hovering over their…

  7. The option to vote on polls with bits disappeared overnight with no announcement and no viable replacement.

This was a great way for viewers to financially support streamers in a way that contributed to choices made on stream (In my channel it was used for character selection within a game and variety game choice outside of the main stream game). I understand if a new concept is ready to go that creators can use as an alternative, but as long as there is no alternative, streamers who used this feature and Twitch itself will lose revenue.

    I'm not sure why…

  8. Looking at my dashboard with pinned on the top of the chat gifters ranking - it let set up only Daily, weekly, monthly and all time ranking. I just wonder, why there isn't yet Current Year ranking.
IMHO, i would REALLY appreciate this one set-up. i'm sure, some of creators also would like to use it instead.
    THANKS 8)

Twitch should deactivate the NG word for "エタ (eta)." The BAN of this word makes it impossible to write in some completely unrelated Japanese words. In addition, エタ has almost lost its role as a purely discriminatory term, and Japanese people no longer use the term to insult others. Furthermore, エタ is rarely written in katakana, and is generally written in kanji, such as 穢多 (but either way it's inappropriate because it's not used in a…

  10. the message used with /announce does not render at all on mobile. If it just didn't highlight then that's one thing, but a mod message that no mobile users can see is worthless.

I was eager to utilize the feature, but without mobile users being able to see the message /announce does more harm than good and I can't use it

  11. Hi, all! We're thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of a new native chat command that allows you to give another streamer a shoutout in chat, so that you can introduce them to your viewers and help them grow! Here's an overview of the key features all broadcasters and mods can expect to see in September:

Use "/shoutout [channel]" to support another streamer by displaying a follow button for their channel in chat, so your viewers can support by following them without leaving your live stream.
If the channel getting the shoutout has a stream schedule set up, it will also…

  12. Give channel moderators the power to shout out someone in chat by clicking their username and selecting a "shout out" option (another way of shouting them out vs. using /shoutout @username).

  13. I would like the chat history to remain when watching Twitch on mobile (iOS Android).

A new feature was recently implemented that allows users to keep a chat history when watching from a PC, and I would like to see the same feature implemented for mobile (iOS Android) viewing!

    https://twitter.com/TwitchSupport/status/1622659366531866645
I would like a mobile version of this feature

  14. Suggested feature: Twitch chat presets only chat

Twitch has subscribers only chat and emotes only chat. What we need is chat presets only chat. In that mode, viewers can only communicate by using available chat presets. Twitch should have a default chat presets that streamers can use.

Recommended chat presets include but not limited to:

  15. The new /shoutout command is pretty cool, but isn't able to replace the existing shoutouts that we all do in our bots. Since the bots are usually mods in their respective channels, those users should be able to use the /shoutout command (just as they can use commands like /announce); however, I have not been able to make this work. Please consider allowing chat (IRC) connections to use the /shoutout command, so we can augment our bot shoutouts with the new feature!

  16. So, I, as a mod have the option to pin every message in the chat.
The pin button is right next to the reply button, and I've found myself accidentally misclicking the pin button instead of the reply button.
In my opinion, it should be harder to pin messages and you shouldn't be able to accidentally pin a message, if you wanted to reply to it.

  17. Some communities will notice a new way to "chant" during hype moments on stream. This is a limited time experiment where only some creators will have access to this feature. Creators and Mods will be able to use /chant (using text and/or emotes) in chat to kick one off. Viewers will see a private callout with the chant and can dismiss or choose to participate!

We'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions here. We look forward to hearing your feedback!

On 2/2, we will turn off Chants.

While this feature was popular, we observed negative impacts to minutes watched for significant groups of creators.

Experiments help us test new ideas in real time, and decide what to build next. Thanks for sharing your feedback with us!

  18. Looking through the IRC Chat Tags, it doesn't appear as if there are tags that would trigger a highlighted message.

For instance, if a first-time chatter posts something in chat, it would be nice to have an IRC tag that indicates that they're a first-time chatter. Regardless of what the user has set up on the website, this would allow for a bot, or StreamElements custom widget, to detect the tag and do something with it (such as play an alert, or post a message in chat, etc).

At minimum, the following tags would be nice to have:
    1) first…

  19. We know on some streams chat moves fast. So we're experimenting with a feature that allows viewers to Elevate their chat messages. If you're in a country with access to this feature, and on a channel in our experiment, you'll see the entry point to Elevated Chat (it's an arrow!) next to the chat input box.

Since this is an experiment, keep in mind that Elevated Chat may appear differently across channels. The experience will likely change before we fully launch to all streamers. We'd love to hear about your feedback with this feature!

  20. The way restricting users are as they are informs the restricted user they're being restricted. If the idea is to prevent them from making another account to get around it it's probably best not to immediately tell them that they're being restricted in the first place. It would be so much handier to have someone's messages be privately seen only by the moderators before they can deduce whether someone is a repeat offender or not and lift said restriction when they come to a conclusion. Sort of like a shadow mute feature of sorts. I bring this up as someone…
