How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

  1. My chat filters delete a couple pretty specific terms/phrases. But even people whom I've seen before in my chat and enjoy the company of still fall prey to my filters from time to time. And it's quite disheartening when all of their contributions to the chat are completely purged because of one new message.

With instances like this, for old and new users, it would benefit not just myself, but a good chunk of other streamers from what I've seen, to have things so that ONLY those individual messages with the actual filtered content gets deleted, as opposed to a…

  2. Translator = Traductor.
I don't know if anyone will read this but well, it would be interesting to see that as in the PC version of twitch it lets you reply to a comment and thus create threads, put a translator playing on a message that you don't understand (plus there are subtitles for the live) Since sometimes people arrive who do not speak the language and we can barely communicate through emotes or a couple of phrases to express ourselves, then language borders would not be such a barrier when it comes to enjoying new and diverse content.

  3. The way restricting users are as they are informs the restricted user they're being restricted. If the idea is to prevent them from making another account to get around it it's probably best not to immediately tell them that they're being restricted in the first place. It would be so much handier to have someone's messages be privately seen only by the moderators before they can deduce whether someone is a repeat offender or not and lift said restriction when they come to a conclusion. Sort of like a shadow mute feature of sorts. I bring this up as someone…

  4. You should also be able to see when in the VOD the chat was sent, and what the chat says. You shouldn't have to skip through entire VODs to see what the chat says. There should be a list that contains every single chat message you've ever received, and it should be accessible in the analytics.

  5. I thought it would be a great idea if we as steamers could give people more roles than VIPs, mods or editors. Such as discord, different and certain roles with badges and a bigger interaction with chat and the people in it.

Everyone could be able to get a role and be able to interact with roles.

There would be more customisation in your own hands as a streamer and a new way to get people to chat and come visit in your chats/streams

  6. Ability to have different chat colors on different channels. e.g. for one red chat color for the other blue chat color. This can also be done as a Turbo or Prime Gaming feature.

  7. Current Chat is hard to read in streams with lots of viewers. Chats scroll up as new chats appear making it hard to for the eye to track at high speeds.

I'd suggest creating a mode where chat can use a "progressive scan" approach much like old CRT televisions which illuminated pixels sequentially overwriting old pixels. With this approach, new chats would overwrite the oldest chat. The next chat would overwrite the next oldest chat. Chats would stay in a fixed position on the screen until they were overwritten by a new chat. This would make it easier to read…

  9. To help combat hate raids while streamers are off-line, how about a feature to disable chat when a streamer is offline? It can be a simple feature toggle "Disable off-line chat", or even include the ability for viewers to chat for a period of time after the end of stream before disabling. Also, a switch would allow streamers to leave it on, in case they use it for community features.

  10. As the topic says,

a feature to AUTOMATICALLY restrict and monitor all accounts following your channel the same day as the accounts where made.

This would save me and most likely others a lot of work going through your follower list everyday to keep obsessed psychopaths out.

I am of course talking about the new marking feature that recently came to be where you can choose to monitor a suspicious chatter and even restrict his messages from being seen by the rest.

  12. Chat disappears when chrome window is made smaller
    no expand
You have to change it quickly so the chat below is created
Otherwise the chat will be lost.

  13. Make "Chat Filters" setting persistent. Currently, I have to turn my Chat Filters OFF every time I log on to the website, even though I have cookies enabled for the site, and this is very annoying. This setting should be stored in the account and persistently applied. Even better, it could be applied to each individual channel.

  14. I would love to have the chance to give some reaction to an another user message. This could help even the streamer to select wich messages are worth to read and answer (if it is a question).

  15. When streaming using my VPN, my chat constantly disconnects and reconnects. This does not happen when VPN is off, and is not actually a connection issue as I never drop frames. I could ignore the constant spamming of "welcome to the chat room" but the problem is that I miss chats from my community. Being a small streamer, this is unacceptable as I read and respond to everyone. Being a female streamer, turning off my VPN is not an option. I do understand that twitch is trying to do something about people using VPN's to get around channel bans. But…

  16. The idea is to better counter the issue with unwanted links and at the same time provide a way for regulars to post links without getting purged by botmods such as Moobot, AnKbot, Nightbot, etc.

How it works: The streamer and their mods gets a new option ("Links in Chat" to allow them to limit how links acts in chat from the moment this option is changed onward. Possible values:
    • "Allow" - Just allows link, unregulated except for the case there's a URL in the blacklist (example: TinyURL).
    • "Moderated" - Puts messages containing links "on hold", similar to…

  18. Being able to add slowmode to a specific person. If there's no reason to time them out or outright ban, making it so they can't spam every second. Can slow them down from behind the scenes!

  19. Can we have an option to turn off the highlight on monitored users for moderation? It especially is useful for the streamer as the person being suspicious shouldn't draw the streamer's attention more than other viewers.

  20. Scenario
User A replies to User B, User B continues the conversation by replying to User A, Twitch Chat shows "User B replied to User B"

    Background
Many different social media platforms have allowed reply threads for years, arguably most notable being Twitter. Users have clear expectation of reply behaviour. Twitch replies do not adhere to this expectation.

    Problem
Users look as if they're speaking to themselves. It creates confusion for both users participating in the reply thread and others outside of the reply thread.

    Solution
Update the reply feature to accurately reflect who is replying to whom.

    Additional
