  1. With the new year a number of works have now entered the public domain. A given channel's audience may be global and so these works will not enter the public domain uniformly. Presently the existing guidelines specify that the broadcaster must have the rights, but there is an important distinction between the rights within their own country or for all countries the broadcast may reach (in effect, the longest duration across all countries). If the rights apply to individuals who may be viewing, then it would be preferable to be able to restrict the broadcast to certain regions so that…

  2. The current Mature Audience Warning is for those 18+ and is used by many streamers even for games and other activities that those under 18 and over 12 can watch/chat. These ages groups are then left out. A new warning should be added that only allows those between 13-16 years old to watch/chat. When this warning is displayed the game and chat would only have things in them appropriate for such age groups. The streamer would be responsible for making sure the game is rated for such ages and that settings used in chat keeps out more mature conversations/topics. If…

  4. A few minutes ago, I received a notification that a guy named hoss has started to follow me on Twitch.

The suggestion is pretty clear - in order to cope with the issue presented below, by default do not enable email notifications to people who have never streamed.

I have read Reddit post that went pretty viral a couple of days ago about a the very same user with different name variations who somehow IP grabs user profiles.

    Here is a link: https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/pck517/randomly_got_this_follower_even_though_i_havent/

  5. Okay so here me out, there are adults in the world, weve been gaming for decades, and sometimes what we play is categorized as adult content, at least by twitch standard.
Now twitch standard is a little murky, say for example for a while nudity and sex was okay on cyberpunk, but then some did and others didnt get in trouble for displaying sex/breasts in the witcher. Its a constant game of is this okay, the only other choice adult gamers have is to move risque games to another platform that allows this and the two i can think of…

  6. I'm so sick of streamers getting permanently banned (indefinite suspension) after 1 thing and never getting anything back from twitch as far as an explanation or response to an appeal. I have seen people lose their passion and dream over the ridiculous moderation and support team. There is no reason people should be waiting 5 months for a response from twitch.

Just recently my fiance was banned for something that he blatantly didn't do. He was banned for BAN EVASION when he never even had an account before the one that was banned. It's absolutely ridiculous.

    I continue to lose…

  7. Hello Twitch and other readers

unfortunatly many bot-accounts are around and new one are creating at the moment. Some friends, other streamers are targeted with attacks with bot-accounts.

They have something to do from your side twitch, specially that some Bots have tools to get the IP from people who visit the Accountpage ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdyBV3Zoa0Y ) should be a signal for u to investigate fast as possible.

In the last few days/weeks i experience that hoss00312 are around i followed (and unfollowed) me with multiple accounts.
What do you suggest to do, when people experience something like that? I know…

  8. Could you have the ability to list the bots (Streamer approved bot list) that are allowed to be in that streamer's channel and then for all other bot account to be auto ban the moment they start watching.

As a mod I have been using https://twitchinsights.net/bots to check if accounts are bots and then banning any that show up as bots before they talk in chat. The Hoss bot is just creating so many account it disrupting many streams now.

Also could you have another setting to alow streams to chose to have any account that is watching more than…

  9. Twitch plans on soft-banning a handful of words in their next policy update, namely "simp", "incel", and "virgin", in an attempt to ***** down on ****** harassment. They say it will only be in cases where they are used as insults but I want to get ahead of this since community outcry is already bubbling up.

Banning individual words that are not slurs not only lumps them in with genuinely harmful words but also encourages an environment where context is devalued. The above three words are usually used in a joking manner, but I worry that shuffling them into the…

  10. Nowadays, if a streamer wants to change a collection's miniature, he needs to select a video as the miniature, but he should be able to do it without changing the video's miniature.

  11. So I would 1st like to point out that there's a lot of missing links on the DMCA talk.

Most of these have to do with the Categories being streamed and what those Categories have Pre-Built in them.

A fine example of this is with EA and 2K and all the EA and 2K Sports Games.

These games contain 1 Major Flaw that will impact the DMCA and that is the Game Soundtrack Music.

For many years the In-Game Music in the Sports Games are all gonna be DMCA Hits as the music is picked by the Athlete(s) on the…

  14. There needs to be a change with in twitch as there has been multiple profiles with problematic pictures that are grounds for banned. There needs to be a implementing of a non-approved stage for profile pictures followed by a approved stage so that way we don't have problematic grounds when someone's profile picture shows up in someone's stream during a game or such ex being marbles. Because this brings up problems for the streamer were we have to take even more steps to avoid being flagged or banned for something we ourselves didn't display. This includes but not limited to…

  15. Many streamers are currently being flooded by bots. There are no adequate filter mechanisms such as Captcha or other authentication methods that probe the creation of multiple fake accounts.

Twitch should use a secure authentication method for account creation as soon as possible so that so-called bot accounts and fake accounts can no longer be created in the future.

These bots make it unnecessarily difficult for honest streamers to apply for a partnership. In addition, it is almost impossible for streamers to prove that they have not bought or deliberately used any bots such as follower bots.

    Dear community, please…

  16. There needs to be a way for people who don't use twitch to get help and support. Streamers are learning to harass and abuse people OFF twitch so they don't violate TOS. They also just delete VODS if they have been abusive in their streams. I have been getting harassed by "twitch streamers" and there was no way for me to get support from twitch without signing up. Please add a support option for people who are being abused by your creators but who don't use twitch themselves.

  17. This is directly copied from the proposal update from Jambo, which states as follows:

"Twitch Safety Support - Update Proposal by Jambo

    1. UPDATED REPORTING TOOL
Twitch’s reporting tool is outdated, and needs to be revamped. The biggest suggestion for this is to have a lesser detailed reporting still available on profiles but provide a link to something similar to submitting a ticket, but will allow the user to submit images as well as links (currently images cannot be uploaded with a report) be marked ‘high priority.’

    2. HAVE A DIRECT CONTACT EMAIL ADDRESS FOR PARTNERS
Along with an updated reporting tool,…

  19. Greetings,

I am unable to find where to submit feedback about reports of streamer violations not being acted upon. That is, Twitch's platform moderation ignoring reported TOS violations. There needs to be a way to contact someone higher up when this is occurring.

The specific reports being ignored are of streamers violating the "Nudity and Attire" rules in Just Chatting, some every stream, whoever is receiving reports of this is not doing anything because the streams continue without being moved to Pools, Hot Tubs & Beaches category.

    Please get better moderators.

"For all streamers, you must cover the area extending…

  20. As a mod for an LGBTQ+ and trans streamer, we have been hit with a ton of followbots coming in and spamming chat with hateful intent. I had an idea for a command that would ban all accounts that have followed in a recent timeframe.

For example, (/banall 10) would ban all accounts that have followed in the last 10 minutes. This would greatly reduce the amount of time that moderators have to spend on banning all accounts separately. I spent an hour last night doing so, and while I had backup to monitor chat, I know that many smaller…
