1. Twitch Frontpage feedback and how it feedback can help us

   Heya, I’ve been thinking about the Twitch Frontpage thing and how competitive that it can be at times on how to apply for it and get in there on the front page.

   However I think we need to have more exposure about when is the best time slots are quite suitable for us per month. For example with the most recent February front page notifications, it was actually very good to see that we have the opportunity to see how busy it was per month and give people a second chance to possibly reapply and schedule in for another day.

   Also it would be good that some streamers who are trying to celebrate their Twitch Partner or Birthday anniversaries would be given an opportunity to do so for fun and engaging times as well if people have not been on the front page in a long time. Especially more than 6 months.

   In my opinion, I would like to see that all streamers would be given the opportunity to stream and play whatever they would like to do on the day and be given the opportunity to celebrate once in awhile on the Frontpage advertising who those streamers are and ensure its been decided fairly.

   Furthermore we would like to see better feedback on the reasons why our applications were denied, so we can learn from our mistakes or understand why and work on to improve it for further reference.

   Perhaps have a customer support line made available so that we can talk to Twitch representatives to understand what the expectations are needed in going forward. Any business or customer services can do a generic response but having constructive feedback or criticism will help streamers understand better or learn to evolve and improve.

   Being on the Frontpage can been seen as a great opportunity to learn new things or get exposure however if people are getting denied for so long, we need a more better reason rather than generic messages.

2. Optimize Stream Together for Musicians

   Dear Dan Clancy,

   I am reaching out to share an idea that could help make Twitch even more appealing to musicians and further distinguish the platform from other streaming services. As a musician and a regular user of Twitch, I see a great potential in the “Stream Together” feature. It offers an excellent opportunity for streamers to interact with each other in real time. However, there are several technical challenges that are particularly problematic for musicians.

   One major issue is the audio and video quality during joint streams. Currently, “Stream Together” prioritizes the audio of the person who is speaking at that moment. This results in a diminished audio experience when multiple people are speaking at the same time or even when musicians are playing or singing together. For musicians, this is especially limiting, as we often perform simultaneously, and without an adequate solution, it leads to a less than ideal experience.

   Additionally, the camera feed occasionally stutters, which further impacts the stream’s quality. This issue could also be addressed to ensure a smoother, more professional experience.

   I would suggest that Twitch implement a feature allowing users to manually control or disable audio prioritization. This would enable musicians to collaborate in real time without their audio sources being artificially suppressed, vastly improving the overall experience. This functionality would be unique in the live streaming space and could give Twitch a distinct competitive edge, especially among musicians and artists.

   Given your background as a musician, I trust you understand the importance of such a feature and hope you see the potential to resolve this challenge. With this improvement, Twitch could become an even more valuable platform for creative collaboration, while also gaining an advantage over other streaming services that do not yet offer this feature.

3. Enable Sub-discount Campaign Scheduling

   I would love to be able to schedule my discount campaigns instead of having to start them manually. This feature could be placed either in the discounts menu and/or within the stream scheduler. It would allow for better planning and make activation much easier.

4. Twitch Male Vulnerability Guild, Twitch Men's Mental Health Guild, Twitch Men's Guild

   For Men's Mental Health Month, Men's Health Month, or Men's Month (June or November), I'd love to see Twitch Unity Guilds establish a safe space for the male demographic. Men are often told to "man up" whenever they express vulnerability, which can lead to under-diagnosis amongst men and boys. Male creators and male streamers face unique struggles whenever it comes to emotional expression. Stigma and traditional masculinity norms can leave men to suffer in silence.

   As a man, I regularly feel as if my issues are dismissed and pushed aside. Establishing an official male vulnerability guild can help offer men a safe place to learn, share and empower oneself. A male vulnerability guild could help break down barriers, and encourage male help-seeking. Twitch is an incredible platform that could be used to promote men's wellbeing, as well advocate for men's issues. Men's mental health matters, men's health matters, male vulnerability matters, men matter.

5. Custom avatars that interact with games

   I think having the option to customise your appearance would be cool. So that developers can access this information and put people in their games, for example, red hair, blue eyes, long hair, sex etc. this could be an avatar to make games more interactive while viewing.

6. Add User Achievements (and new rewards)

   Gamify the platform more. A large portion of the userbase is gamers.

   Functionally, users engage better when they have objectives and rewards. Currently the backend has an achievement system for streamers to allow them to have benchmark goals to reach for their stream.

   So to capitalize on that, expanding the Drops & Rewards to include Achievements for both users and Streamers. Currently Streamer metrics are what the driving force behind available streamer achievements.

   This entire system would need rewards to be a driving force for users to engage with. Emotes, badges, nameplates, titles, profile pic frames, platform themes. This is a double-header here, as some of these functionalities do not exist.

   So what can a viewer achieve?
   Used Channel Redemption, Use X Channel Redemptions, Used Bits, Subscribed, Subscribed for a streak (on any single channel), Anniversaries (yearly), Sent first message, sent X messages (anti-spam delay on counting) used an emote in a message (anti-spam delay on counting), used X emotes in messages, participated in a poll, participated in X polls, accrued X channel points (final achieve at 1 million in a single channel), watched a stream together stream, watched X stream together streams, watched a recommended stream for 10 minutes, watched a recommended stream for 24 hours total time, participated in a raid, participated in x raids, follow your first channel, follow 5/10 channels, gift a sub, gift X subs, used a powerup, used x powerups, reach a watch streak of x in any channel, watched a Twitch stream, browsed the carousel on the front page, watched a stream in just chatting/DJs/Art/Music category, watched a clip, watched x clips, created a clip, created x clips, shared a clip, shared 5/10 clips, watched a story, used the mobile app, received a drop, earned an emote from a promotional event...

   And the list goes on. All of these are micro-incentives for users to engage and learn the platform. As users learn the platform more through some of these, they are incentivized to engage in it with further achievements and stretch goal achievements. A similar list could be added for streamers themselves, as the platform is a 2-part equation. Rewarding both sides for both providing and engaging both. Streamer-based achievements would be equally about feature engagement, both introductive and sustained engagement.

   As for new rewards, back to the other end of the equation. Emotes and badges are already a way for the users to have a modicum of identity. We need more. So light touches on the user-end, primarily cosmetic.

   Nameplates - A rarer cosmetic, a backer to your name in chat, your profile when viewed (when panel is displayed by clicking your name), and when featured in a stream-together title or @. The in-chat display of the nameplate would be a per-channel toggle, so streamers can turn them off for user-friendly engagement, but also may be toggled off from user-end for similar reasons.

   Profile Pic frames - Currently a highlighted feature best in example on Discord. A simple frame for your icon that would display in your profile (or popup when clicked in chat), would appear in the left shelf for recommended and the top right display of your icon on-site. A small visual frame to fit around your image.

   Platform Themes - We have dark mode, we have light mode. Some various unlockable gradients and other visuals for backgrounds or channel pages on native Twitch. Simple patterns, flat colors and patterns to not obscure features.

   Emote Shelf Expansion - Currently posted another idea involving having a shelf for users to select from their available emotes, this idea would go hand-in-hand with that idea, giving them extra shelves or space on those shelves in the emote selection window.

   Now how distribution would work? Well, certain achievements would unlock very specific things. For example Twitch's Bleed Purple, a staple of it's branding is the purple. So for a sort of site-pride engaging achieve, you might unlock a light Glitch logo (Twitch's site symbol) as a repeating pattern for a background.

   For the rest of everything however, achievements would award points of varying amounts for redemption in a basic shop. These offerings would be basic background colors/gradients, old offered emotes from promotions, simple frames, etc.

   To extend the shop however, Twitch can and should create a monetized front for that. If this occurs, I would recommend the focus on creators and artists, allowing users to submit, get approved and gain a profit when their item is sold. (It wouldn't be a free-for-all, just a strict entry/approval process and rotating offerings.) For a similar market example, see Warframe's Tennogen. (Regional offerings and exclusions obviously may apply, free achievement point shop would be global though.)

   This dual-front draws attention to all Twitch's current features and allows another monetization method for Twitch. The entire system being just a way for Twitch users to drive engagement and thereby improve quality of the site/service. By gamifying the experience, users may hopefully feel encouraged to engage more and through those engagements, more positively.

7. Add a feature for streamers to turn on or off a stream delay for viewers with no account.

   Stream sniping is a major problem, even for small streamers. Even if you ban someone for stream sniping, they can just watch with no account. Most streamers that I watch won't use a stream delay because it ruins the experience for everyone. Even after getting stream sniped. If there was a way a streamer could turn on or off a delay that only affected no account viewers it might help mitigate some stream sniping.

   This proposal focuses on enhancing the Twitch experience by implementing a scaling reward system unique to each channel, designed to engage viewers through contributions that already exist on the platform, such as subscribing, gifting subs, using bits, and engaging actively in chat. Viewers can unlock channel specific rewards while supporting the streamer, creating a cycle of investment and recognition that strengthens community ties

   Each channel could have its own scaling reward system, giving the streamer the ability to shape unique rewards based on their content and style. These rewards could reflect different forms of contribution, whether monetary, time spent watching, or participation in chat, highlighting the value of viewers’ investment. This flexibility allows channels to create experiences tailored to their community while encouraging viewers to participate actively and meaningfully

9. Solve the problem of fake viewers and motivate new content creators.

   Good afternoon!
   There are proposals on how to increase the number of content creators, and therefore there will be content for new viewers. Since a large number of content creators broadcast live to 0 viewers, they lack the motivation to improve their content. New content creators can’t compete with people who use fake audiences. Because those who have a lot of viewers are on top.
   This is fundamentally wrong.
   I propose to eliminate the possibility for viewers to see the number of viewers in a broadcast. The number of viewers will only see the content creator. This will solve the problem of fake audience.
   On the platform, remove the ability to see a list of all content creators. The viewer will search for content creators by tags in random order. The viewer will be able to view content creators who are subscribed without a search engine. We also need to make a filter with the official tags of the content creator search system.
   This will solve the management problem for content creators. Because the content creator is the content creator, not the manager.
   Content creators will be interested in their own improvement. The creativity of content creators will be more diverse. The number of viewers on the platform will increase.

10. A (Custom) Category - Just one singular customisable option

    So it'd be one singular category for anything typed in that doesn't line up with another pre-existing stream category/topic that's able to be set. And it'd be whatever is typed but appended with "(*Custom Category)" following whatever they set.

    When viewers search for categories they'd have to set it to custom and then type in what they look for. And then the named results would specifically apply to anything under the custom category and only show stuff that's been set to a custom one (with whatever they typed being the thing that's searched for first - within what streamers have set as their own custom category/status)

    Commonly used custom terms that are similar can also have suggested/auto-corrected to the most popular/biggest one that's in use. (For the Streamer that is opting to use the 'Customisable' one) with the biggest suggested one overall getting considered to be an official preset category

11. Scam Raids

    Hii! I just wanted to let u know that it has already happened a few times to streamers i know that somebody raids them who has like 1-3 viewers and then keeps streaming. They do that to get an automatic shoutout and people from the other stream will follow them and check them out. I think that's really scammy. Is there a possibility for you to make sure that when people raid someone else they actually have to end their stream? I know there probably is a reason for why that doesn't happen but this is really frustrating to me :)

12. add a rotation list of games you play

    Allow twitch streamers to post a list of games they have as their top games they play in their rotation. then suggest them to viewers of other streamers in the same category to gain followers when the streamer isnt live. or suggest their vod/clips etc. I think this would encourage a person to stream more if they get offline follows, video hits with some email notification, etc.

    Please make your clipping feature more accurate. At this time, every time you make a clip, it tends to move the actual clipped scene forward by like one second after uploading. This makes it annoying to capture the intended full clip. Thank you.

    Console gamers can currently stream only to Twitch (or sometimes YouTube) directly. To reach multiple platforms at once, they need a PC and a capture card, which is expensive, complicated, and limits audience growth. This makes it difficult for console creators to expand their reach and share gameplay across multiple platforms.

    Proposed Solution / Idea:
    Allow console users to select multiple platforms when going live from their PS4, PS5, or Xbox. For example, they could stream to Twitch and simultaneously broadcast to TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram. This could be built into the Twitch console app or the broadcast menu. 15. Asian/AAPI Twitch Guild - Long Overdue!

    In 2023, Twitch launched Unity Guilds (Black, Latin, Women & Pride); wonderful safe spaces for creators of those demographics to learn, share and grow together while empowering another. We strongly believe a Unity Guild should also exist for AAPI/Asian creators on the platform as there are many of us who have made Twitch our home.

    From Vtubers to IRL streamers, from India to the United States, we have had a significant impact and presence on Twitch as a community to hopefully warrant the creation of our Twitch Unity Guild for Asians. While we sincerely appreciate past opportunities given to us by Twitch such as the "Together for AAPI Voices" campaigns, we would love to collectively and more effectively organize as Asian creators to achieve a greater and positive impact together with Twitch in the future!

    In 2023, Twitch launched Unity Guilds (Black, Latin, Women & Pride); wonderful safe spaces for creators of those demographics to learn, share and grow together while empowering another. We strongly believe a Unity Guild should also exist for AAPI/Asian creators on the platform as there are many of us who have made Twitch our home.

16. Improve Rerun Transparency, Reduce Viewer Friction

    Hi Twitch Team,

    I’d like to raise a concern that’s been affecting my experience as a viewer, and likely many other viewers.

    Too often, I’ve joined a stream, interacted in chat, and only afterward realized it was a rerun. This happens because streamers bury the word “rerun” at the end of their titles, which is easily missed, especially on mobile or tablet, where titles are truncated. Even on desktop, personal settings can hide the full title. It’s frustrating to engage with what I thought was a live community, only to find out it’s pre-recorded.

    What makes it worse is the ad wall that hits right as I try to check out a new streamer. If I’m greeted with an ad before I even know what the stream is about, I often click away immediately, and forget the streamer’s name seconds later. Combine that with unclear rerun labeling, and Twitch loses a potential viewer, supporter, and bit spender in a matter of seconds.

    Here’s what I’d love to see:

    Require “Rerun” to appear at the start of stream titles for visibility,

    Enforce use of the official rerun tag or label across all devices,

    Display a clear rerun badge, like the “Live” badge, on every interface,

    Consider reducing or delaying ads for first-time viewers checking out new streamers,

    These changes would improve transparency, reduce viewer frustration, and help streamers build trust with their audience. I want to support creators, but I also want to know what I’m watching, and I need to see it before I’m asked to sit through ads.

17. Lurkers need to be counted as viewers

    It is very questionable to take away the support the lurkers give. I know a lot of people lurk in many streams and watch them in intervals, jumping from stream to stream. This is especially bad for small streamers, that are now losing their view numbers because of this. Max two streams at the same time to be counted as a viewer, is diabolical.
    This will hurt the small streamers in many ways;
    -Decreased numbers will destroy motivation and so small streamers will start quitting and their affiliate subscriptions will cease. (statistically there are more small affiliate streamers than big partnered streamers and it is unwise to destroy their numbers)
    -Small viewer count numbers sadly push new viewers away. It shouldn't be like that, but it unfortunately is. The false small count does harm.
    -Getting affiliate is harder, and so is getting partnered.
    -People want to often watch multiple streams or support their friends. Watching multiple POVs is a thing, switching back and forth. Now they need to make a decision to choose only two of their team mates or friends.
    -This discourages engangement alltogether.

18. Add ability to Filter Search Results

    Please add the ability to filter / block tags in search results when looking through live channels of any given game.

    I don't want to see PNG / VTubers and delusional people who think they're something they aren't.

19. Raids affecting recommended

    Let there be an option for raids to not affect our recommended streams in browse. For, example because of a single raid now my recommended feed is full of streamers I have no interest in as far as what I usually watch. Now I'm sitting here clicking on 'Not Interested' on all of them until it fixes my 'Recommended For You'.

20. Sort Open Drop Campaigns by Followed Categories First and Start Date Second

    On https://www.twitch.tv/drops/campaigns, the web and mobile versions of the page, organize the list of open Drop Campaigns by followed categories first and then the Drop's start date.

    As a user who checks available Drops frequently, I find that it can be tedious to scroll through the list of open campaigns as I will always have to find the bottom of the page to see what is new. The games/categories I follow are the Drops I am interested in, if those were sorted to the top of this list on the page I could find what I am most interested in first and start watching related broadcasts sooner.
