1. Provide transparent and clear communication about changes to function and features of Twitch.

   Twitch has asked us to hold them accountable and we have been met with a wall of silence accompanied by shadow changes like the ones made to auto-hosts.

   Twitch must communicate to creators with transparency about the plans and the data that leads to them. Without streamers there is no Twitch. We deserve to be able to ask questions and voice concerns about potential changes to the platform that we make possible.

   These are the changes we would like to see:

   1. Allow for comment periods in advance of finalizing rollouts of changes to existing features.

   2. Provide open access to data from studies that lead to changes to the function and features of Twitch.

   3. Communicate clear timelines for rollouts of new features and changes to existing features to allow streamers adequate time to prepare.

   4. Provide a roadmap of expected changes to Twitch so that creators can understand the trajectory of the platform that many of us at least in part make a living on.

2. New viewer count algorithms are questionable and only allow two simultaneous streams

   I have recently tested your new viewer count algorithms and have found results that point to two simultaneous streams are allowed only... not a 'handful'(?) as you stated on twitter?
   I believe this will make things impossible for the smaller streamers and hurt Twitch a little bit too in the long run.

   The smaller streamers are basically the collateral damage in this as most streamers on twitch have a slow moving all important chat until they get into the 100s of viewers. Most of the viewers that do stay behind will usually have multiple streams open as their main, whilst they come by to say hi and see what's up every now and then. These are usually the early base of viewers that increase their viewer count to somewhat respectable for them to be noticed by more and more people and THAT is when their personality and charisma can come into play to get the snowball of rolling. By limiting these streamers to the 'two streams on max or their views won't count' law, the little guys basically have this taken away and it leaves practically only one option for them to realize their dreams: a once in a lifetime occurence causing them to go viral and blow up. A hard task has only become harder.

   These new algorithms also don't take into account the fact that these days alot of people simply do not have a high attention span and seeing as the nature of streaming is more comparable to a 5 course dinner instead of quick fast food (Youtube), viewers are bound to be inclined to have multiple streams open simultaneously, and usually more than the two that are allowed nowadays.

   In the long run I feel Twitch could discourage a large amount of streamers with this viewer count system and could lose promising streamers who will never realize their potential and who will never be discovered because of the new viewer count algorithms? If need be, at least make the competition fair by correcting the codes and make the rule affect everyone on twitch because I have come upon quite a few irregularities during testing. But ideally, a midway compromise could be adjusting the algorithms to 5 tabs, which seems more in line with the honest lurkers' viewing behavior on Twitch.

   Thank you for your time and again, I hope Twitch will review their decision and at least leave a little bit more breathing space for the smaller streamer to grow.

3. Allow partnered streamers to keep sub points

   Sub points should be accumulated & not get expired along with expired subs as it helps streamers to unlock emote slots quicker. And with more emotes available, potential subscribers would be more enticed to sub or continue their subscription.

   Looking at "expired" sub points on our partnered dashboard not only demoralized streamers before the start of each stream, we'd get less interested to help promote subscription to our viewers & would encourage direct donation instead.

   My current subpoints which unlocked 24 emotes is now at 366/1,000 because 600+ gifted subs expired this month. I don't see how I could get my next 25th emote slot unlocked if Twitch doesn't allow partnered streamers to keep the subpoints earned fairly & paid for from viewers.

   Let us keep our hard-earned subpoints so we can grow Twitch together!

5. [Experiment] Follow Cues

   We’re experimenting with cues as a way to help streamers while they're live. Follow cues are a feature that reminds streamers to tell viewers to follow when they are live. Timing of these reminders are based on real-time data that tells us when the percentage of viewers not following you is higher than usual. We are testing location of these cues in either Chat or Activity Feed.

6. Reconsider the recent changes to the Twitch Terms of Service (6/6/2023), including those centered around branding.

   After receiving a notification about the changes to the Twitch Terms of Service on 6/6/2023, it is clear that there are changes that greatly affect streamers and how they are able to earn an income through the Twitch platform. Before I begin, I highly recommend that Twitch consider creating a way to be able to highlight changes made to their Terms of Service when they are updated, as there was no indication of WHAT changed specifically until I saw a thread on social media explaining it. This is an easy fix to a frustration that many have when a website's Terms of Service are leagues long.

   There are new guidelines as to branding and what is allowed (found here: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/branded-content-policy) that seem anti-creator, not to mention the fact that a recent event specifically breaks many of these rules just by existing. Take for example Games Done Quick, which does all of the items that are now theoretically prohibited. An event like that would no longer exist, or have to completely overhaul their process, to be able to fit within these rules. And creating exceptions for specific events seems an unreasonable response when many creators live off of the fact that they are able to earn additional income to help them run their stream, or make a living, based off of external factors. Limiting a streamer to not allow them to run these types of advertisements does not convince an end user to spend their money with the streamer in another way that benefits Twitch and Amazon as an organization.

   Please reconsider these changes or open discussion with the community in order to allow creators a better path towards earning income using your service, lest we choose other services for our communities. Thank you.

7. No affiliate for those who stream private servers

   Twitch needs to investigate the games that their affiliate requests are playing before handing out Affiliates. There are people who stream private servers who are getting affiliate status when they are in fact breaking Twitch rules!

   It is written in Twitch's community guidelines that "Unauthorized Content Sharing & Other Copyright Violations
   Uploading any content that you do not own, do not have the rights to, or are otherwise not authorized to use, violates our Terms of Service and may make your account liable to DMCA takedowns by third-party rights holders. We do not tolerate, for example: rebroadcasting other Twitch broadcasters’ content, playing pirated games, showing third-party movies and television shows, rebroadcasting a sports match, playing on UNAUTHORIZED PRIVATE SERVERS, or uploading content from other sites without permission of the copyright owner."

   Do not let Private server streamers get affiliate status.

8. Annual partner poll

   Nowadays there are lots of content creators on Twitch with follower/subscriber camps of sizes that easily outnumber those of some who have already reached their partner status. Yet, these persons still struggle after years (if not decades) of streaming to cross the required average viewer boundary which would grant them considerably wider possibilites to fascinate the audiences of theirs and other people.
   I've heard from them that if their follower camp would watch their stream at the same time, they already were partners. That is a fact that it is not a simple task for such amount of people with various daily routines to be able to gather for their content creators every time the streamer they support broadcasts. But, there might be another way for them (beyond the present methods) to help the creators to achieve their goals:
   For affiliate creators whose follower or subscriber number reaches a threshold accepted by mutual agreement of Twitch managers, I hereby propose the opportunity of annual partner polls among affiliate streamers in each country.
   Content creators satisfying the requirements could nominate themselves on an official website each year and viewers would be able to vote among the candidates on an online platform for a specific period of time. The winners of the poll would be entitled to possess the check alongside their channel.
   I hope this recommendation will be taken into consideration and proper measures will be made. Thank you for your attention.

10. Twitch streamer handlers/talent scouts.

    Some of us are exceptional but need a direct line to those with influence within management structure.

    Some of us are more valuable for other reasons rather than just a streamer and we are going to waste. You should have people hunting for that sort of person of whom can be a tremendous creative asset to your functionality and increase revenue.

    I've been wasting away on social media for 5 years now. I'm not socially acceptable, not a picture perfect marketable product for the likes of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube but a valuable product nevertheless. Just going to waste over here for so many different applications.

    Some of us are exceptional but need a direct line to those with influence within management structure.

    Having a heart icon (<3) next to "React" makes it seem like the heart is a way to "Like" the broadcast for people new to the Twitch user interface.

    Obviously, if people were patient in learning the UI, they wouldn't accidentally unfollow the streamer, but accidents do happen when people are in a hurry (or drunk)... click click click

    I would recommend moving the Heart and Bell closer to the streamer's name, but in a way that doesn't copy YouTube's design. LUL

16. Make adding reactions to a video easier and more efficient

    CURRENTLY:

    Desktop browser, you have to press the reaction-button below or on the video (depending on mode), which will bring up a popup where you can select a reaction, and then get a second popup that thanks you.

    Mobile browser, there's no button to add a reaction.

    Android app, there's no button to add a reaction.

    ISSUES:

    This discourages the usage of reactions since it prevents some, and adding a reaction is too tedious. I've tried adding reactions myself, but I keep forgetting to add reactions since I don't see the button, and the popups blocking the video is just annoying as well.

    SUGGESTION:

    Desktop browser, there could instead be a reaction-button below the chat instead. A button similar to the points with a field for a countdown next to it. Pressing it will bring up a similar popup to redeems and settings, and not cover the video. A quite small popup could be made making it more efficient.

    Mobile browser, it can work the same as the desktop browser.

    Android app, since there's no space below the chat, it can be added next to the bits-button. Since reactions are a way to communicate still. It could just be the icon to save space, and after reacting it can be replaced with the countdown. Pressing the button can have the same menu as redeems and emotes, moving the chat up and revealing the options below the chat.

17. guest star feedback

    I followed the link I just got back from Support; is this the right place?

    Hi! A group I'm in recently did an extensive mini raid train collab using Guest Star. It was about three weeks ago. The instruction pages encourage feedback and bug reports because it's still beta. So here I am. Happy to try to clarify any of these.

    1. One of us has struggling Internet. It is good enough to stream and she is wired in, but her bandwidth is inconsistent. I think that's why she kept getting disconnected from Guest Star even though the other 3 of us were not. Otherwise no idea why, but she had to refresh and rejoin several times.

    2. Once someone has left and returned to Guest Star, whether intentionally or no, once put on stage, their browser source on OBS showed their image returned fine, but for audio to work, the Browser source had to be refreshed.

    3. Sometimes the people in the Guest Star page would lose the ability to hear one of us. The others would still be audible. Sometimes refreshing the page fixed it. Sometimes it required that the person who couldn't be heard had to refresh. At one point this seemed to be triggered by one of the guests adjusting the volume of one of the other guests. She couldn't hear him after that, even when she turned the level back up.

    4. One of us experienced the page remembering how loud each guest was set to previously. This was confusing because it had been a while and she didn't know why some of the people were quiet. She was pretty sure she had turned the volume back up in the mean time, but when she returned to guest star, it "remembered" the previous, lower volume setting and she had to turn it back up again. Arguably it would be better if it didn't remember, or if it showed an indicator of who had a custom volume set.

    5. It's not totally clear whether adjusting someone else's volume affects them for everybody or just for you. Especially as the streamer, when I put someone on stage after changing their volume backstage, is that going to change how they sound in OBS? It would be great to make this clearer, like label it or provide a popup info bubble like "Change their backstage volume for you; this will not affect the Browser Souce on stream" etc

    6. I discovered that the Browser Source URLs don't seem to change; they are specific by position and even when I stream days later, the URLs are the same. If I were to give one of those URLs to someone else (like if I am at their home using their computer, or if we are at a public event and I'm using their laptop, etc) then it seems that during any future Guest Star streams I may do, they could (accidentally I presume) wind up with the audio and video of my guest on their OBS! I understand that the convenience of persistent links is super valuable. It would be awful to have the Guest Star session crash midstream and need to set up new browser control URLs while the world is watching. But what if the URLs get refreshed (a) after a month of not using each one, (b) if you ever change password or stream key, (c) if you create a new "Guest Star session", which reflects your intention to start fresh.

    7. I think the "Guest Star session" would be cool. You could give it a title and a description, so when you invite people they see more information about why. The URLs and the invitations could persist until you close the Session. Perhaps you could keep a few Sessions around, like how OBS does Scene Collections or Profiles, or how a digital mixer stores snapshots. Then you could have your DnD gang, your music talk podcast panel, etc, preset and ready to resume on a regular basis whenever you do those kinds of streams.

    8. At one point someone left Guest Star by mistake while they were "live" (though I hadn't actually started the stream yet, thank goodness) and their invitation was also gone. I had to stop what I was doing and reinvite them. Also at one point someone misunderstood the plan and left too soon and was messaged to come back, but had to be invited. Of course in both cases I had to toggle them "Live" and refresh the browser controls. This kind of thing happened enough that we started being quite frustrated with Guest Star, though when it worked it was great!

    9. I found that while streaming, it was most convenient to turn on monitoring in OBS and turn off the Guest Star page's audio in Chrome, by right clicking on the tab and muting the site. This unfortunately also means not being able to listen to any other twitch pages, including the page that was about to raid me. It would be great to have a master page volume or page mute button.

    I know you might think I should listen to the page and keep the browser controls unmonitored, but (a) I was able to hear my effects and my real levels this way, and (b) if someone is accidentally unmuted in the browser, has background noise, coughs, etc, my method means that's not an issue. Also for a lot of us, we use Desktop Audio to share whatever sound is in the computer, and that means they would be doubled or out of sync. Lastly, because of the bug above requiring a refresh, monitoring the OBS source tells me when it's broken.

    1. If nobody is assigned to a slot, or if they leave their slot, the empty slot should have more information and buttons that would help you do something else with that slot quick. Assign someone, re-send invitation to someone who left prematurely, maybe even what time they left and how long they have to reconnect before they lose the slot.

    2. Is there a way to hide the channel names in the browser controls? Anyone skilled enough to get through Guest Star effectively should know how to add a name on screen, and if we do it ourselves, it'll be in our show's style. I understand that it's a boon to have the name change when the guest changes in a slot. That's great. But it should be optional. If it is, please let me know.

    3. Is there a way to have guests without showing the list of Guest Starring channel name links to your viewers? I love that it has that as an option, but (a) sometimes you want to have a surprise guest, (b) sometimes someone or multiple people might be on a camera that joins using their other channel, their spouse's channel, etc, or (c) if you stream for 8 hours and have someone guest for 10 minutes, it's confusing to the viewer who comes and goes at some other part of the day.

    4. If I closed my Guest Star hosting window, the others could keep talking for a minute or so, but sometimes with 2FA, rebooting, and/or stormy conditions, it can take anywhere from 1-90 minutes to get back. Also it's possible to be logged into Guest Star on a separate computer from the streaming one. I believe as it is now, if the host closes the Guest Star browser or loses connection, even if the stream is still on and the streaming computer is fine, the Guest Stars will disappear in a couple of minutes. I didn't test that, because of how horrible the experience would be while streaming. :) It would be great if the session didn't close for at least an hour or two when abandoned by the host. Zoom meetings and Streamyard, by comparison, stay until everyone leaves.

    5. It would be great to co-own a Guest Star Session so the same group could be reused on another channel without having to set everything back up. Like first I'll interview you two on my channel, then one of you streams while you two interview me on your channel, that kind of thing.

    6. It would be so cool to have a setting to enable unfiltered stereo audio, so we can play guest music on each other's channels. Many of us have been trying to use it that way and it just doesn't sound great in attenuated mono.

    7. At first I kept forgetting to put people "on stage" - especially if they were on stage a moment before and had accidentally left. Audio handling is also very strange because who can hear whom when they are or aren't on stage is confusing and unclear. It should be more visually obvious that someone is backstage. There is currently a 'look' but a watermark that says 'offstage' or something would be better. Or perhaps once anyone is "on stage", it would become even more obvious who is not, where it would be subtler before that point.

    8. A feature like some meeting software, where we see a bouncing level meter on each window in the Guest Star browser page, would be wonderful. I found it hard to figure out who had background noises on, unless I put people on through OBS and could look at their individual meters, and it would be too late then. Of course I could mute each person in turn but that also was hard while under pressure.

    9. Another idea if there are Guest Star Sessions would be to preassign slots for people. So when placing them it would default to place them in the same spots. You could still change that but having defaults would mean not having to remember where everyone was "sitting". It would be cool to be able to preassign more than one person to the same slot, if you know that some people take turns in the same 'seat', for that matter, when their segments come up.

19. I think that you have way to many partnered streamers with low viewer base

    I think it would be wise to remove partnership from low performing streamers and offer those partnerships to people with over 100 viewers working hard to grow there channels as opposed to those stagnant channels with constant under 50 viewers who for some reason keep there status as a Twitch partner.
