No affiliate for those who stream private servers
Twitch needs to investigate the games that their affiliate requests are playing before handing out Affiliates. There are people who stream private servers who are getting affiliate status when they are in fact breaking Twitch rules!
It is written in Twitch's community guidelines that "Unauthorized Content Sharing & Other Copyright Violations
Uploading any content that you do not own, do not have the rights to, or are otherwise not authorized to use, violates our Terms of Service and may make your account liable to DMCA takedowns by third-party rights holders. We do not tolerate, for example: rebroadcasting other Twitch broadcasters’ content, playing pirated games, showing third-party movies and television shows, rebroadcasting a sports match, playing on UNAUTHORIZED PRIVATE SERVERS, or uploading content from other sites without permission of the copyright owner."
Do not let Private server streamers get affiliate status.

hahaha literally EVERYONE is broadcasting stuff they don't own. do you really have a license from the publishers to stream all those games? no, but they are not complaining so it's ok. same with private servers. as long as nobody complains all is good.

It would HAVE to be servers that are unauthorized. Unofficial player-hosted servers are usually perfectly legal.

i am sick of the UNAUTHORIZED PRIVATE SERVERS on twitch i had from 30 to 60 views now with all the private servers with the 1 game i play i been getting 9-20 views i play www.aiononline.com i have done 2009 when it came out it's just hurting my veiws now where i am like why even stream anymore

umm dude, im late as **** but twitch doesnt take affiliate requests, its an automated system that gives streamers the affiliate offer the second they meet the 50 followers, stream time, and viewer requirements

I get the feeling someone wants to be as cool as the other kids, but is scared something actually might, just might, happen to his channel and now everybody has to just be as uncool as he is. Of all the issues and gaping human abysses Twitch is dealing with, this has a priority of -2352. You get a hearty lol from me =) Good to see this post is nearly 2 years old and noone gives a **** about it.

Reporting streamers for streaming wow private servers get you nowhere there's a streamer called canBeast who streams every night on Twitch and YouTube and gets nightly donations to do it if twitch was serious this guy would not be streaming

"Unauthorized Private servers" refers to games where the server software is not publicly available in any form and the hosting of a private server equates to copyright infringement. An example of this would be any MMORPG where someone has replicated the server functionality, such as private World of Warcraft servers. Blizzard has not released the server software in any form to the public. The only authorized servers for World of Warcraft are Blizzard owned servers. On the other hand, Mojang released the server software for Minecraft back at the beginning of minecraft. The server software is still freely available to download and run. Any private server for Minecraft is considered "Authorized" by Mojang and Microsoft. Such servers are NOT against the terms of service for Twitch.

Who's saying they aren't authorized to play on private servers? I have several Minecraft servers that are private between a friend and me and I stream them with permission.
