  2. There are times when I don't want to load in to a new stream after the one I was watching is over.

Some examples are when I am alt-tabbed and playing a game.

For me personally, while playing a game I will always experience a spike in bandwidth usage while the new hosted stream loads in.
Not all streams will use the same bitrate either, which is a concern, however I've not had issues with that problem so far.

Another example is when I am away from the computer, viewing twitch as it were actual TV.

    Then inevitably having my…

  3. If you have a stream paused or muted and a new channel is hosted, existing pause & mute settings are ignored after the host. If you leave a page up during the day or evening this can cause sound to suddenly start blasting from your speakers without warning. Please don't AutoPlay hosted channels if the open Twitch page has video paused, and please preserve mute settings.

Better yet, add an option in our user settings to auto-pause/mute hosted channels so viewers can manually opt-in to watching a hosted channel.

  4. It's very hard to find streamers from Portugal in the middle of so many Brazilian streamers (Brazil has almost 20 times the population of Portugal), dividing it by Portuguese (BR) or Portuguese (PT) would make things a lot easier. This is the standard in programs, subtitles and games, since we use a lot of different terms. I think both sides of the language would welcome this change.

  5. Add a section in the "Games" or "Teams" list that includes new partnered streamers from the past day/week/month and advertise new partners more openly to the public.

  6. I follow a lot of people, and sometimes they're all streaming great stuff at the same time and I have to pick one. But I often see things I'd like to watch later or the next day, and it's hard to find it in Past Broadcasts (or I forget about it until it's too late).

It'd be nice to have a "bookmark this stream" button on the Following page when someone's streaming something you want to check out later. Then you could easily keep track of stuff you didn't have a chance to watch when it was live.

  7. So they don't show up when you are looking under games for streams to watch.
It would be great if you ignored a user, their channel didn't show up when you were looking for streams to watch

  8. when i was a small streamer i found it hard to get followers. i had a good quality stream and a couple of friends who watched my stream. and i think that new streamers are pretty much abandoned, they should get the chance to get bigger instead of waiting months for just a couple of viewers to pop buy

  9. Add "Roleplaying Games" as a blanket game that can be streamed to cover all the non-D&D games or ones played that are not using Roll 20. "Board Games" and "Card Games" is available. Tabletop RPG's should be among them!

  10. Communities just released today, and suffers from the same problem that game categories already had: similar categories competing against each other instead of uniting as one. Let people create categories inside other categories so that if you're looking for Super Mario Maker or any other Mario game (for example), you aren't struggling to find two categories with lower viewer counts due to intra-franchise competition.

Also as an aside, please find a way to keep the "rulemakers" of said communities in check. It's ripe for abuse and bad eggs can kill a community easily.

  11. Hello Guys,
I am new on this developer board, however recently I had a small Idea that I would like to pitch to twitch and would be happy to assist in the implementation of such, as I do have the necessary contacts to do so.

I noticed that this platform has been branching out and trying to reach more people with their contents (see creative).
I think it would be a good idea to implement lectures on different subjects as stream aswell. Here we could cooperate with different universitys (which mostly record their lectures) and their professors to get lectures…

  12. I think that adding a "Non-partnered" and "Partnered" section to twitch would be a great way of promoting smaller streamers who are trying to find their audience, as well as making it as easy as possible for people to find their favorite partnered streamer in the partnered section.

This would be a very simple idea to implement and wouldn't have an effect on the way people stream. It would make it far easier for those streamers who are trying to find and audience find and audience and once thats been done, the partnered section is for them.

    The way I…

  13. Hi,

Currently the model for viewing games in the directory is difficult to traverse as a user. I scroll through looking for quirky titles or just genres that I'm only interested in i.e. FPS, Strategy or DeathMatch, Horror etc and instead of it being this lovely categorized experience I feel like i'm on an endless scrolling journey.

As the title suggests, my suggestion is having the option to break the model into the following:

    Genre > Game_Genre > Game > Stream

This way I can go from say FPS > Horror > SpookyFps3 > MrHorrorTV

    Plus an additional nice option…

  14. I like to spend time just browsing for small streams of random games. The "Browse" page tells me the number of viewers for a specific game, but I'd love to be able to quickly see how many different live streams there are. This tells me how much variety I'll have available if I decide to browse that game.

As an example, if it's the middle of the night and one game has 3 live streams and another has 8, I am probably going to prefer to start browsing in the game that has 8 live streams. I'm more likely to…

  15. Titles like the Super Smash Bros. games, Street Fighter games, and WWE/WWF wrestling games often attract the same viewers, regardless of which specific game in their series is being played. It would be convenient for viewers and helpful to streamers to provide a page that groups these games together. These could be unique grouping pages similar to broadcaster teams, which would allow regular game categories to continue unchanged. Ideally, these categories should also appear in the game directory to make them more visible to potential viewers.

  16. Would love to have a Fitness catagory on Twitch. Some of the people I watch on here live in foreign countries and it is amazing to see all the sights as they are walking around playing Ingress or Pokemon Go. Would be nice to allow them to just walk around and talk about their countries without having to be playing a game while doing so.

  17. Twitch should allow your streamers to set what languages they speak within their channel. So if i speak russian and english i would set that as my channel languages and then viewers should be able to search specific streamers with those languages. with games like counter strike and league of legends i want to be able to search for streamers that just speak english or speak other languages rather than having to search through 1000 channels for a streamer that speaks your specific language. on counterstrike you can search by map but i would like if i could also search…

  18. Implement a filter that would be present no matter what section of the site you are on allowing you to filter based on a primary language.

    1) Force a streamer to select a single primary language
    2) Allow streamer to select multiple secondary languages
    3) Implement a filter that would be at the top of any search/game/category listing...

The filter should have two features.
    - Allow user to filter based on primary language ONLY
    - Allow user to sub-filter based on secondary languages optionally

    This accomplishes two goals.

    1) Allow the viewer to filter down to streamers that for the…

  19. Add little flags for the country of the the language the channel is in. Too many times have I entered a channel that looks entertaining and come to find out it's in a language that I don't understand. This would help a lot! :-)

  20. Providing 'personal blacklists' would give users the ability to hide content they're sick of seeing and enable for a higher quality browsing of Twitch. This would give users the option to hide content or channels that are purposefully clickbait or channels that they don't want to see reappearing when browsing for a stream. Channels that constantly use all caps in their titles are annoying and we should have the ability to blacklist them for our accounts. Same goes for many of the streamers who have 66% of the screen covered by their face or 'other body parts' and only 33%…
