Change the Model from Game > Stream to Genre > Game_Genre > Game > Stream + Sorting options
Hi,
Currently the model for viewing games in the directory is difficult to traverse as a user. I scroll through looking for quirky titles or just genres that I'm only interested in i.e. FPS, Strategy or DeathMatch, Horror etc and instead of it being this lovely categorized experience I feel like i'm on an endless scrolling journey.
As the title suggests, my suggestion is having the option to break the model into the following:
Genre > Game_Genre > Game > Stream
This way I can go from say FPS > Horror > SpookyFps3 > MrHorrorTV
Plus an additional nice option would then to be allowed to sort those streams by the different statistics I have available to me i.e. viewer numbers, alphabetical, time running etc.

It would be really cool if we could search streamers with a kind of character filter.
For example, i really love Mage play style in word of warcraft. But i can't find easily mage streamers. If they could identify they are playing mage in wow i could be able to find them all pretty easily and follow them all.Same thing in league of legends. If some1 want to watch mid laners (position specific or character specific), they could easily filter that out.
Thanks! :D

Create franchise and genre tags, two communities this would be very useful for is the pokemon community and the Tabletop RPG community, since they have basically the same problem.
Any TTRPG streamer will stream under the tag "Dungeons and Dragons" even if they are playing a different system since otherwise it would be impossible to get the viewers that you are trying to reach. Same issue with the pokemon community, everyone streams under the most recent game, cause that way it's centralised.
Oftentimes, people aren't "Pokemon Scarlet and Violet" fans or "Dungeon and Dragons" fans, But Pokemon fans and TTRPG fans.
Making a broader TTRPG category, that includes DND aswell as other TTRPGS. And making a Pokemon category that also includes each individual entry, would benefit everyone, streamers and viewers.

GTA 5 RP is dominating the GTA 5 section. You have to scroll for many pages, likely to not find anything but RP streams. I'd like to see an seperate category for GTA RP, so streamers and viewers of the base game and online game can come together. With the new updates... The game is actually fun and deserves a chance to be seen

It's too bad there is not more traction on this. It's importance cannot be understated
The current browse page overly highlights popular games, which the stream page then over highlights popular streamers. This greatly undermines the diversity that twitch has to offer. It also sets a high bar of entry for new comers and encourages stagnation in the top streamers.
This is how communities die.
By focusing on a few big money makers/whales, the platform stagnates, viewers get bored, membership declines, whales move on, and newcomers are too discouraged to stick around. A vibrant and dynamic community is based on the success of these new comers, not the success of a few big cash cows.
Membership is already starting to decline twitch. Take Heed.

We already have the filter by champion option, but sometimes people want to watch a specific role being played, and given that players usually stick to one role, it would be a good addition to sort them by it.

We need genre browsing. Other categories would be nice too, like an Esports category, Speed Running, VR, maybe even categories for different languages like if someone wants to find a streamer speaking French or something.

That and the way the presentation layer is displayed.

So different sorting and searching options to search for games and streamers.
