1. Replace AI-Generated Category Images with Human Made Work

For the creative/non-gaming categories, ESPECIALLY the art category, please replace the AI generated category images with credited, human-made images.

We've had the old category images for a while, they definitely could have used an overhaul. With the hiring and crediting of emote artists for new hype train emotes, some of us were cautiously optimistic that new category images would follow the same pattern. Twitch has a thriving creative community and it's no secret that many of us take issue with the way that generative AI, in its current state has ethical issues regarding the lack of transparency, lack of compensation, lack of credit, and and lack of consent—not to mention devastating environmental impacts. Many of us have had our work stolen with this technology.

Regardless of Twitch's view on the use of these technologies, the creative community as a whole has an overwhelmingly negative view on it—see the previous UserVoice to remove the Catinthechat emote with almost 14,000 upvotes here https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/928738-badges-emotes/suggestions/49188362-no-ai-for-global-emotes-change-catinthechat, as well as the hundreds of artists who came together to create new cats that could have easily been used for the emote. Moon worded it well in the UserVoice on the AI generated cat icons: "Optics are important and this sends a clear message that you do not care about the artists working on your platform."
Even the non-creative community seems upset at their images being AI image generations: https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/934332-customer-experience/suggestions/49173698-fix-the-ai-gerneated-category-image.

With this in mind, we ask that Twitch reconsider representing us, a community who OVERWHELMINGLY disapprove of the use of AI, with AI generated imagery that they could have instead asked one of the MANY creatives on Twitch to do. The 'Artists + Makers' creator club is full of multi-disciplined, highly creative, and very skilled folks who would be happy to take on the challenge of helping to remake not just the Art category, but all of the AI generated category images. Because, quite frankly—even with AI taken out of the picture—the new category images do not feel well representative of the groups they are supposed to be representing. For example, the Art category image captures only a sliver of the community it is supposed to represent, fine artists. It is a vibrant place filled with artists of every medium and genre! This image does not represent us well. Feel free to reach out to the members of your creator club for ideas, iteration, design, and work. We WANT Twitch to feel like home for us. We WANT to create and engage with the community. We do not want to be disregarded.

Please take advantage of the creativity and passion of your currently thriving creative community, instead of taking actions that at best read out of touch and careless towards them. If creatives feel like the platform is actively hostile towards them, that thriving community will start to dwindle. Don't do that to us.

2. MCSR Ranked

I would like to add a category for the game MCSR Ranked. MCSR Ranked is technically a mod for Minecraft: Java Edition, and is classified on IGDB as such. I understand that game mods typically do not get their own category; however, MCSR Ranked is a fully-fledged competitive platform with its own website, ranking system, tournaments, and prize pools, with a consistent base of streamers who play it regularly. The most recent official tournament, the "Playoffs," featured a $5,000 prize pool (with $3,000 going to the winner) and reached a combined peak viewership of 63,156 across 28 channels. Notably, 28,757 of those viewers were watching channels other than the event's largest co-streamer (Ludwig), demonstrating a strong and growing organic audience.

Because MCSR Ranked streamers currently fall under the general Minecraft: Java Edition category, viewers have no way to find or filter for MCSR Ranked content. At any given time there are typically around 20 streamers live playing MCSR Ranked, yet they are effectively invisible to anyone browsing Twitch for specifically that content.

3. Add a Sesh Category!

A category for relaxed, real-time interactions between creators and their communities. “Sesh” is centered on casual conversation, shared experiences, and live engagement through anything from music, discussion, creative expression, or simply spending time together. Content in this category emphasizes authenticity, connection, and a laid-back atmosphere.

The “Sesh” category fills a gap between highly structured content and fully unstructured streaming by giving creators a clearly defined space for casual, community-driven experiences. While categories like Just Chatting exist, “Sesh” introduces a more intentional cultural framing around relaxed, shared moments and community presence.

   This category would:

-Provide improved discoverability for creators focused on vibe driven, low-pressure streams

-Encourage deeper community engagement through informal, real-time interaction

-Support a growing segment of creators whose content blends music, conversation, and live experiences without fitting neatly into existing categories

-Offer clearer expectations for viewers seeking authentic, laid-back content without having to search through tags.

By formalizing this style of content into its own category, Twitch can better organize creator ecosystems, reduce over-saturation in broader categories, and enhance the overall viewer experience through more precise content discovery.

4. Live2D Cubism

There are multiple streamers working on Live2D cubism (software suite and modeling tool used to animate flat, 2D illustrations so they move with 3D-like depth and fluidity, without requiring frame-by-frame redrawing or a full 3D model.), in the art or just chatting category.
It would be nice to have a category for the specific program.

6. Rise TCG

8. Require 24/7 channels to be in the "Always On" or "Music" categories

Some categories, especially the Super Mario 64 one, have been flooded by 24/7 channels with the sole purpose of generating revenue. They clog up the directory and make it harder to find live content. A lot of these channels exist purely to be raided into and farm AFK viewers, and a majority of the community dislike them and want them elsewhere. I'm sure advertisers also wouldn't like paying for ads being played to AFK people. Having these channels be required to be in "Always On" or "Music" (for the 24/7 Music streams, there may be other categories that should have exceptions) would help debloat the directory and discourage making as many channels as possible for extra revenue. Being able to report these streams for being in the wrong category to get them forcibly moved would be amazing. I'm aware this is an issue in some other categories, but I'm most familiar with it in Super Mario 64. We have a great speedrunning community and most people talk with each other outside of Twitch. Many of us have expressed frustration with these channels, and also worry it promotes isolating yourself instead of interacting with the wider community as many of the people who have these 24/7 channels are incentivized to raid into them instead of others. Marathon events and such should be excluded. As long as the content is LIVE it should be allowed in whatever directory, but if it's a rerun channel it should be in "Always On". For example, Games Done Quick should be able to be in the directory of whatever game is currently being showcased, assuming it's a live event.

9. Exception for a "Game Mod" to show in the Twitch category list as a Main Game

   Dear IGDB Team,

Our community recently added our open-source game remake 2004Scape to IGDB. However, it was incorrectly categorized as a mod rather than a standalone game. While we understand that it is unofficial, it is not a mod and it is a complete, independent remake. Unfortunately, this misclassification limits visibility for our project and its content creators, preventing us from establishing a distinct identity separate from the official game.

We respectfully request that 2004Scape be recognized with its own category, ensuring our community has a dedicated space apart from the official game listing. We are not seeking to advertise within Jagex's category, nor do we wish to misrepresent ourselves as something we are not. Our goal is simply to provide a space where our project and its content creators can be properly identified.

   Relevant links:

   2004Scape on IGDB: https://www.igdb.com/games/2004scape
   GitHub Repository: https://github.com/2004Scape/Server

We believe 2004Scape is something truly special for longtime RuneScape players and proper classification on IGDB would greatly help our project thrive. We appreciate your consideration and look forward to your response.

   Best regards,

   Normo and the 2004scape community

10. Add a Twitch calendar feature

I want Twitch to add a calendar feature for followed and recommended streamers.
Sometimes you want to find streamers that usually streams your mornings, or specific days of the week. It would be great to have a calendar feature that allows you to filter for suggested or followed channels based on the streamer schedules, not just stream categories.
A weekly calendar can also be used to see the streamers you are following and when they are scheduled to be streaming in a more structured way than the "Upcoming streams" allows. This way I can see that KappaStreamer has a birthday stream coming up on Thursday, but I am free on Wednesday night so who can I follow that stream then?
If you also add the ability to put notifications on specific upcoming streams in the calendar, it would become a really helpful tool.

11. Merge the existing three categories for Doom 64 into one

There currently exist three seperate categories for Doom 64: one for the original Nintendo 64 game, one for the (unofficial) Doom 64 EX sourceport, and one for the (official) 2020 re-release.

While differences exist between them, they are not significant enough to reasonably warrant seperate categories. People who stream Doom 64 most often stream to the original category as it has the most followers, regardless if they are playing the original on the Nintendo 64, the EX sourceport on PC, or the 2020 re-release on PC or any modern console.

Merging the categories into one would improve discoverability for people who stream Doom 64, as well as for viewers looking for Doom 64 streams. This would be especially valuable for Doom 64 because it is a less popular game.

    Thank you for your consideration!

    The categories in question:

    https://www.twitch.tv/directory/category/doom-64-2020 (to merge into original)

12. Mafia

Mafia is a social deduction card game in which players are secretly divided into opposing teams — typically Civilians (Town) and Mafia.
At the beginning of the game, each player receives a hidden role card. The Civilians usually do not know the roles of other players, while members of the Mafia know their teammates. Depending on the ruleset, the game may also include special roles such as the Sheriff/Detective, Doctor, Don, Maniac, and others.
The game alternates between day and night phases.
During the day, players discuss what happened, analyze each other's behavior and statements, share suspicions, defend themselves, and try to determine who is secretly playing for the Mafia. Players then vote to eliminate someone they believe is a Mafia member.
During the night, Mafia members secretly choose a player to eliminate. Players with special roles may also perform their abilities, such as investigating, protecting, or interacting with other players.
The Civilians' goal is to identify and eliminate all members of the Mafia. The Mafia's goal is to remain hidden, mislead the other players, eliminate Civilians, and eventually gain control of the vote.
Mafia is primarily a game of social deduction, logic, psychology, communication, bluffing, strategy, and teamwork. Players must make decisions with incomplete information, recognize contradictions, build convincing arguments, read other players, and determine whom they can trust.
There are many variations of Mafia. These range from casual or traditional (“city”) Mafia, which may feature different numbers of players and a variety of additional roles, to competitive or Sports Mafia, which uses standardized roles, structured discussions, timed speeches, formal voting procedures, referees, tournament scoring, and organized competitions.
This category is intended to bring together all forms of Mafia as a social deduction card game, including casual games, city Mafia, Sports Mafia, tournaments, leagues, live games, commentary, and game analysis.

13. puzzlescript

Please add a PuzzleScript category for streams playing games made with the PuzzleScript game engine.

PuzzleScript is an open-source puzzle game engine with a not very small community of creators and players (it was the source of many games in Jonathan Blow's recent "Order of the Sinking Star"). A shared category would help viewers discover streams across its many small games and allow community bots to announce live PuzzleScript streams.

    Official website: https://www.puzzlescript.net/
    IGDB engine entry: https://www.igdb.com/game_engines/puzzlescript

Could Twitch provide an umbrella category for these streams, or clarify the appropriate process for requesting one? PuzzleScript games are often quite small, but there are many of them, so IMO it makes sense to have an umbrella category for them rather than one for each individual one.

15. Bible Study

The addition of a dedicated Bible Study category on Twitch creates a tailored home for streaming communities focused on scripture, theology, and spiritual discussion. Previously, creators hosting devotional streams, verse-by-verse breakdowns, or interfaith dialogue had to categorize their content under broad tags like Just Chatting or Talk Shows & Podcasts.

This dedicated category improves discoverability, allowing viewers seeking faith-based community to quickly locate live discussions, guided prayer sessions, and educational lectures. For streamers, it provides precise audience targeting and fosters a focused environment optimized for constructive, respectful engagement.

By formalizing Bible Study as a distinct directory, Twitch acknowledges the growing diversity of non-gaming content on the platform. It helps bridge digital media with personal faith practices, offering a structured hub where creators can build inclusive communities around shared spiritual exploration and academic biblical analysis.

For streamers, it provides precise audience targeting and fosters a focused environment optimized for constructive, respectful engagement.

18. Save the sort preference in directory

The default sort is "Recommended For You". The top recommended categories have ~100 viewers and I never watch these categories. I would prefer not to see those.

I can solve this problem by selecting sort by "Viewers (High to Low)". However, I have to re-select it every time I open the website because my preference is not being saved.

    Please persist this preference.

19. Metroid Prime Category Fixing

Renaming or removal of the "Metroid Prime 2003" category on Twitch.

Currently, Metroid Prime is a broken category, as selecting the proper game (https://www.twitch.tv/directory/category/metroid-prime) as your category will have your post-stream vod/clips category incorrectly set to a different category of a web-game (https://www.twitch.tv/directory/category/metroid-prime-2003). IMDB does not want to correct this on their end, so please either remove this web game category or rename it so there are no string conflicts between the two.

20. Create the "Fluff Event" category

The Fluff Event is a French-speaking multi-streamer charity marathons. For now we're using the "special event" category, but the result is a reduced visibility, a difficulty for the viewers to discover the event, it scattered the statistics, and it can confuse the communication during the event.

We're proposintg to create a temporary “Fluff Event” category (with start/end dates) template, to help the charity marathons, the viewers will be able to click on the “Fluff Event” category and see all participating channels live, sortable by theme/game.

This category/tag will greatly improve discovery, clarity for viewers, and statistics aggregation.

Thank you for considering this request! 🙏
