How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

  1. Currently, the Notifications area on Twitch covers things like drops, gifted subs, stream streaks, and updates pertinent to my channel. What it DOESN'T do is tell me who went live recently. It's frustrating to have a notification pop up and disappear before you can mouse over to it and not know who it was because of a new pfp or vague go live message or whatever.

If the Notifications drop-down could add a tab for "Recently Went Live" that keeps a list of who went live in your follow list in the past 30-60 minutes, I'd find that really useful,…

  2. Every game that is released is released with an ESRB rating determining its appropriateness for various audiences. Twitch already collects these ratings when they add new games to the platform.

Now streamers have the option to turn a "Mature" warning for their content, but rarely is a streamers content always Mature, or always all-ages-friendly.

Given that Twitch has this information, it would be a great help to many if depending on which category you are streaming to, it automatically enables or disables the Mature filter based on the ESRB rating of the game.

For non-gaming categories, some could easily be…

  3. There needs to be a way to completely ban a user from entering your channel and seeing your profile/streams. There's been a Twitch partner that's been straight up stalking me and they do nothing about it. The most I can do is ban him from the chat. It doesn't stop him from showing up when I stream (which makes me feel extremely uncomfortable), or when I'm hosting someone.

  4. Sorry but that was literally the stupidest TOS change you’ve made to date. I don’t want freaking **** on my twitch app and twitch should not be a site that hosts ****. And the fact that you’re well aware of how many minors use your app yet you still decided to allow sexual content is absolutely disgusting. And don’t try to use the “Well we’ll label it as sensitive content so kids don’t access it” excuse. Unless you have a valid way of verifying age, kids CAN and WILL easily bypass these warning and watch these sexual streams. This was…

  5. There needs to be a change with in twitch as there has been multiple profiles with problematic pictures that are grounds for banned. There needs to be a implementing of a non-approved stage for profile pictures followed by a approved stage so that way we don't have problematic grounds when someone's profile picture shows up in someone's stream during a game or such ex being marbles. Because this brings up problems for the streamer were we have to take even more steps to avoid being flagged or banned for something we ourselves didn't display. This includes but not limited to…

  6. This new experimental UI is worst thing I've seen on a video hosting website. It's not bad because it's different, it's bad because it's a horribly poor use of visual space, i.e. it's LESS optimal. There's now a big blank area under the video. The video is also not in an optimal viewing position. I have to look slightly down to have the video in the center of the screen, as it used to be. It's clear that whoever developed it either doesn't use Twitch or has a backwards understanding of how visual space works.

    Please add an option to…

  7. I understand the intentions with this one in a way, as a lot of smaller streamers like me don't often have a lot of people to clip things, but it feels like the requirements for this prompt popping up are absolutely ridiculous, and it pops up for me when the same exact person is interacting with me. There's also the issue that it pops up directly above the area you type, which means that the current messages are blocked out for me while the prompt pops up. Streamers using your actual chat client for streams (Like if they use the…

  8. I think there should be a button for when streamers are having a stroke or something the viewers can click the button. This button should send a confirmation to some twitch admins and if its true they click on approve. when they click on approve a signal is going out to the streamers local emergency service and they will respond to the emergency case.

a precondition to this is that you need to know the adress of the streamers what can be done be asking for the adress when creating a new account or when you implement it that existing…

  9. Many ideas have been discussed here about adding 2FA as a next level security for accounts to verify they're legit and not just a spam bot account and chat. (See: https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/933812-safety/suggestions/41306257-adding-2fa-to-chat-as-optional-filter)

What I propose here that is different those ideas is adding a CAPTCHA solver puzzle for people who want to follow a channel. And I'm not talking about those silly Text Based CAPTCHA solver puzzles that are distorted with upper and lower case characters and other things, but an image based CAPTCHA solver puzzle.

    1. New followers will have to solve a CAPTCHA, a One-time Only process before the…

  10. Here's a catch of the Followers-Only mode that is bad: A spambot can follow anyone at any time and never talk anything. By the point someone turns on Followers-Only mode the bot has followed long enough to be allowed to taint the chat with spam.

    And here's the solution:
Authy Badge: this would be a better "Verified Badge" than the Verified Badge, because it would confirm that the person activated 2FA, which typically involves having a phone, which typically means bots have a harder time verified themselves as a legitimate user and the Verified Badge is nothing more than "this…

  11. There should be an option on Twitch to report moderators that are going on power trips and abusing their power. There are some viewers on Twitch who are getting wrongfully and unfairly banned from chats, or are getting sent derogatory messages from a moderator after sending an unban request. If a mod abuses their status as a moderator, then there should be some sort of form that allows viewers who have been unfairly banned and even been picked on by certain mods to send a complaint to have the specific mod in question investigated, even if they don't actually know…

  12. There are a lot of different games and interactions that users can participate in while watching streamers. I'd like to take this a step further, and be able to offer custom badges. For example, if a streamer is using Marbles on Stream, or some other game for viewers, they can award a badge to the user who most recently won.

Custom badges don't just need to be for stream game interactions or participations, but rather a way to allow streamers another avenue of recognising those in their community.

To avoid this causing issues with streamers creating an infinite number of…

  14. Anonymous follow button.

I feel it would be great, as a streamer to have an anonymous follower button along with the normal follower button (or make the current follow button a drop down option to have an announced follow or anonymous follow). This would be great so the streamer can say thank you to the follower or allow the viewer to follow anonymously as they may not want the "attention" of being called out for following and continue to lurk without the pressure of having to reply etc.

  15. Allow one level of folders for Followed channels. most of us now have a lot of followed channels it would be nice to organize them a little.

for example have a folder for friends a folder for say game type i.e. minecraft, cod etc. a folder for tech streams.

if that could be custom ie create rename and delete of folders and drag drop followed channels into them.

examples of this discord server list

  16. Controversial yes - strip away the viewer count. Will prevent streamers cheating the system by buying viewers, will even the playing field. And those who don’t have a massive ego, won’t mind as will still see stats.

  18. It baffles me that this is not already a thing considering there are so many insufferable narcissistic twats and rotters streaming these days but PLEASE for the love of god allow or give us the functionality to BLOCK streamers so that they never appear to us at all.

Yes there is the function whereby we can remove them from appearing if sorting by "Recommended for you" BUT they still appear if sorted by any other means which is often because if you sort your channels by "Highest Viewer" count for example, you can't avoid some of these. PLEASE PLEASE Allow…

  19. I wanted suggestion that Streamers would be able remove a follower and set it the way he could not follow you again with a time limit or permanently. last year I contacted the staff about follower who refuse to unfollow even he hated me and always came back spy and lose my followers with false facts he never got anything of it. So I wanted to suggest this if anyone has similar situations, to get ability just simply remove the follower yourself and able control if you can follow you again.

  20. I would love to see a "Title Card" feature for chats on Twitch.

This feature would allow viewers and streamers to customize their pages and chats to fit their audience, allowing everyone to get to know fellow chatters, new or regular.
