Twitch Mods need to understand that they cannot abuse their power or straight up harass and bully someone just because they don't like them. It gives off very, very unwelcoming vibes and makes the user feel like a monster for making a simple and honest mistake. Some mods tend to forget that we are *all* human here. We are the same, and we should be equal. You have mods that straight-up be a complete butthole to you when they deny your unban requests, like the one 'dictating what we should do' thing even though I clearly wasn't doing that and was being nice to them the entire time. They completely backstabbed me and treated me with complete disrespect and disregarded any sense of compassion or thought. And then you have the mods who are toxic fiends and just pick on anyone they don't like and they think it is okay to harass, bully, and ridicule them. This is especially a problem in the VTuber community, as many have already stated in the comments. Mods need to be more understanding and treat people with respect. If they are unable to do that, then they shouldn't be a mod, period. The mods being toxic is the worst part of it. They think they have control over the entire stream and will ban anyone they don't like to control a narrative. This one person literally just said the name of a character (Lily) in a VTuber's chat because it was literally the name of a character in the game and was timed out for no reason and threatened a ban. Another was banned from several chats preemptively over a simple mistake, and another was banned for... literally no reason. All of those instances happened amongst streamers in the VTuber community. Have these mods forgotten about the phrase "you need to give respect to earn it"? In fact, I think *all* mods who act like this have. And the worst part is they get paid for being bullys. Streamers actually pay these people money. And I bet that mod that made that snarky 'dictating what we should do' comment to me is still a mod for that streamer and still gets paid unfathomable amounts of money. All I am gonna say is that they were a mod for a drumming streamer. Not saying the name of the streamer to avoid any kind of potential harassment of either the streamer or the mod in question. We should not fight fire with fire. There are hundreds of cases where innocent users on Twitch get banned from streams for the stupidest of reasons, but there are other viewers of various channels that say nasty and horrible things (ex: racism) and get away with it. Mods literally say that their decisions are final, but in most cases, it's the streamer who makes the final decision. This gives mods the ability to make reports when streamers are the ones who unban viewers from their chat, and it can get really hairy as the reports by the mods hold a lot more weight than the streamers. This kind of abusive behavior from Twitch channel moderators is unjust, wrong, and is in some cases straight-up bullying, and it needs to be fixed NOW. Twitch needs to implement a system into their reporting feature that allows you to submit a violation of moderator guidelines, and Twitch channel bans should tell you the username of the moderator in question so you know who to report for abusive behavior. Twitch should then look into the case for you, and if they find out that a violation has occured, the mod should be given a clear warning, and told to either unban the wronged user in question or face demotion. And if they keep on getting reported for this kind of behavior in the future, they should be given restrictions on their account and demoted from all streamers they mod for, and the restrictions can go from being unable to chat in certain streams all the way up to being unable to live stream. And if all of those warnings don't make them see sense, and if they keep on harassing and bullying users by abusing their moderation status, it should just be an immediate and permanent suspension from the platform entirely. Complete IP-ban. And if they find a way around it and keep up this behavior, Twitch should have no issues just completely banning their Hardware ID. If mods are unable to treat users with respect, then like superbomberman1123 said, they need to learn the hard way. They need to face *real* consequences for their actions.

I was timed out and threatened a ban from a Vtuber's chat just because i said the word "lily" in context with the game being played (there was a girl named lily).

I agree. Mods for the most part say decision is final but it’s up to the streamer and a lot of times moderators are genuinely able to file reports when streamers are the ones who unban. And when a mod files a report it can get really hairy as their reports hold more weight than streamers.

Also the Moderators in most Chats make bad Judgments and are really dumb by don't understanding what we mean, so they end up Banning innocent people, while so many others say so nasty horrible things and get away with it, what the **** is wrong with Twitch Rules, is this cause of defective AI? humans are even more crazy now than i remember🙄

I also was banned from a Twitch channel while in Chat, never had the chance to answer back, "Sorry it was cause of bad translation, i'm not English, sometimes people get mad at me for no reason, don't take it so personal, ok?" it's just so unfair

I was perma banned for no reason from this cthulhu vtuber and I asked that streamer was wrong and it's my forth time I was banned for no reason and it was from four diffrent streamers

Ok so you know how you buy subscriptions on twitch and earn emoji's, and in multiple channels earning them makes the user stand out to have a vast majority of emoji to use. This is one of the first and foremost things I have used since the days of Justin.tv. And now to this date I have never had a complaint until a streamer banned me from using the hard earn emoji's. This is abuse is it not. Think of all the times you donated to channel, doesn't matter who but you get maybe one/1 emoji or more. Depends on the stream but having them to use indefinitely helps you stand out. Also using them in chat unlocks for people that may not have said emoji. If someone can ban me for emoji use then this type of abuse will continue.

This should be implemented. It will make the mods strive to be better and not abuse their modding rights.

Oh, my god. This has happened to me...a lot!!! Many VTubers have mods that don't even give me a second chance. Just warnings and that's it! Recently, I've been banned from from a VTuber chat on Twitch because of too many pet names. Glwd already gave me a warning and I thought I complied, but the night after that, which I got banned, they didn't even tell me WHERE I slipped because it happened when my back was turned. The don't even give ya a heads up saying that you are doing it again and they just exaggerate about multiple viewers feeling uncomfortable. It gets worse, I was only whispering to some of the regulars what happened, but then one of her mods, just ambushed me and yelled at me, saying that I was not sorry and I ALREADY "had my second chance and blew it" when he should know it was NOT true!

Another time this happened was a while back, when a certain mod was pestering me because of a mistake I made on one of the chats she moderates. Because of that, I was banned from several chats before I could even introduce myself. You know how much preemptive bans hurt? A lot! Mods need to be more understanding. If not, then they need to learn the hard way.

This needs a lot more votes. Ill start this by saying that Trust just shouldn't be coming with a price tag. These mods come in teams and sell trust to streamers for moderation status in their Discords and Twitch channels, get streamers to relinquish all their rules, tell them they dont have to apply them and to just put blind faith on these people to control the discourse.
This means, no set standards/protocol to abide by other than their own subjective emotions on top of the Discord ToS. This means, if a person simply doesn't like you, and they become a mod, they can perform some mental gymnastics to terminate your presence on that server. Based purely on their own subjective reality. No rules. No premise. Its like a bully trap, where people join these discords, see that they have no rules, think and act freely until a mod with a severe lack of EI is triggered. Its giving them complete autocracy to make up rules as they go along.
Some act like they're the only ones in the channel, and if this were IRC, founding channel ops would've reprimanded them for **** like this.
They get pretty simplord and flagrant toward users, and ruin the Twitch experience for personal reasons outside of Twitch/Discord ToS. I'm not going to name names, but they'll take things out of context just to take unnecessary actions toward users. Again, no premise.
These servers that have no rules, it takes a special kind of stupid to think that members are not walking on eggshells. Over 3/4 of the server hardly say a word, feeling like they're not part of any conversation, and only the "royalty" of that server have anything to say at all. That or people are just ignored. Its clique mentality. Thats just my observation. Then, have the nerve to say "good vibes only". Ya sure. Real good vibes people >_> smmfh

That is what I'm saying!!!! I've had serious beef with a certain mod who literally banned me for sarcasm and asking legitimate questions. I also tagged his little pansy soft self a few times and oh boy he didn't like that. A real L bozo who was trying to prove his big boy status and white knight for his streamer queen if you get my drift. I totally agree with you tho this **** should not be allowed to continue and personally I think a report submission system like you said would be good or perhaps be able to just vote a mod out if multiple people on the channel including the mods are getting sick of him.
