1. Mobile App: STOP AUTO CHANGING VIDEO BITRATE (at least OPTION to DISABLE AUTO changes)

   Recently, the mobile iOS app has been automatically changing the video bitrate.

   To not burn through my data plan, I keep it at a certain lower bitrate.

   Also, aren't you trying to keep you costs low?

   So why the F*** did you, multiple times in the last few days, automatically switch it UP to higher bitrates?

   And there's NO OPTION to DISABLE it.

   Keep the function, some people will like it, just give an option to disable it please.

2. Gaslighting, Logging, Context, Complaints.

   When someone is banned from Twitch, there needs to be a specific Twitch staff ID internally to help identify who issued the ban. If there is already a system in place, then when there are elevated concerns about the lack of absolute context, time, or statements made, the user SHOULD KNOW what it is.

   Just a few days ago, I found out what “Hawk Touh” means, and it’s just one of the thousands of random memes like “bing ****” or “pushing p” that appear and fade out of context. I find these memes irritating and nonsensical. Thanks to hindsight, I understood why I was banned again (after a month prior having been banned for absolutely no reason). These memes, often used without context, can be easily misunderstood, leading to unjust bans.

   The first time, it was for “Hateful Conduct.” Despite phone calls, emails, and attempted audits from third-party overseers, there was no update. The second time, due to the absurd nature of the ban on Twitch staff’s end, it was for “Unwarranted Sexual Advancements.” This time, I had logs. I sent them to the proper third-party auditors and included the Twitch staff CC in a more detailed follow-up email with far more context to the misguided ban. They responded on day 9 (the ban was only 7 days), stating they made a mistake and unbanned me, even though I was unbanned two days prior.

   Accountability: Twitch staff need to be investigated when there is such a heinous claim. This should not HAVE to happen through third-party means, given the context of an “unwarranted sexual advance.” Discussing assets with a developer to the point where StreamElements guided me in the proper direction to acquire the assets in that channel should not result in a ban. I gave them the case number of the Hateful Conduct ban a month prior in their feedback form. I see nothing come of it, just more stories of past issues that have no relevance today.

   This is an example of how terrible the system is. The lack of information in that Tweet by the disgruntled Twitch employee likely reflects the inadequacy of their internal system. This ambiguity in communication can cause unnecessary defense of inappropriate actions based on misunderstood contexts. The ambiguity IS THE ISSUE. The lack of evidence on Twitch staff’s end in my case is likely not reflective of the incident 4 years ago involving different staff. Today, it is NOT the case. There are no guidelines to hold accountability on Twitch for both the user and the staff.

   The takeaway is, without third-party programs that allowed me to log MY OWN chat records, we can’t contextualize our own memes that are unknown to everyone. Since these bans were “repealed,” I have no idea if that means the “Hateful Conduct” or the proven out-of-context “Sexual Advancement.” Knowing that, I had the mods send me my logs when I was unbanned in May, the last thing I said was “DDT was banned in the 1980s, I thought?” So I provided an epa.gov link to the staff and still have heard nothing.

   1.  Set up a system to find out how many strikes someone has for bans. I am assuming all of the bans were overturned but have ZERO way of knowing, as I only know they said “after looking into it” when I never stated anything about appealing the “Sexual Advancement” ban, since I found it imperative to understand the misuse of banning as I provided the evidence of what declared that ban and only provided the case number for the Hateful Conduct ban.
   2.  Compensation when back-to-back bans were PROVEN to be a mistake.
   3.  Third-party auditing that cannot be money-trailed (digital era is digital) to Twitch, involving no conflict of interest in the current matter on a case-by-case basis.
   4.  The loss of privileges to any Twitch staff who has wrongfully banned someone for twice the duration of the ban inflicted on the individuals.
   5.  Refocus the financials on other companies like Valve or just strictly leave Twitch to be linked as an option. The other opportunities for Prime Gaming are massive since 2014. Using Prime for other ventures has been profitable for Amazon, as stated. Twitch needs to refocus employee payments towards staff identified by the methods above and use their salaries to identify botnets, which are damaging ad revenue. Alternatively, develop an application that allows users to know what they said so it’s not “your word against something they can’t find since the account is nuked.”
   

   The level on which Twitch operates now is embarrassing. The fact that you can have current Twitch staff hand out similarly worded ban reasons, “and making a mistake” ONLY when I could provide evidence, is something Amazon among other affiliates and partners KNOW has been the terrible standard for a minute.

3. Feature request: All users must be logged in to view a channel/stream

   Please consider making it so that users must have an account and be logged in to view someone's channel/stream. Banning someone doesn't currently stop them from just logging out or going incognito to keep watching someone. This would make it harder for stalkers in particular to keep tabs on their victims.

   When you have you Amazon Prime linked to Twitch, Clicking the Discover Luna box beside Twitch Icon/Following/Browse on Twitch website, it will redirect you to Amazons website. On Amazons website the first thing that will appear is your linked address if you are logged into Amazon on your browser, potentially doxing you. Recommend providing a popup window that tells you that you will be redirected to Amazon.ca/.com to prevent this happening to others would be appreciated to keep users/streamers private information safe in the event your a curious cat on stream clicking buttons. Having a single button hosted on twitches front page always in complete view that can potentially dox you seems like a major oversight.

   I use a playlist from YouTube that is provided by the creator of the music to be DMCA safe for streaming. Most of the time, I have no problems with the music. But I currently have sections on three of my videos that were muted with that music as part of it. When I look at the appeal, the track and artist names are incorrect. Please have a look at the algorithm and refine it so it stops silencing DMCA-safe music.

6. Add ability to set/change content classification labels on archived broadcasts + new Highlights and Clips

   Currently you have one shot at it to set the right labels while you are live.

   As soon as the live is over, you have no way of applying the correct labels to the archived broadcast, or any new highlights/clips created from that broadcast.

7. More account verification for following

   Have a option where followers have to verify their account through email/phone, to put a limit/ halt on bot accounts created, ive gotten over 200+ bot follows in the last 3 hrs and since im just starting my account, i dont want it to be flagged or banned for something that i cant stop.

9. Twitch Staff Deliberately Neglects Enforcing Rules

   When Twitch staff receives reports with clear proof that a streamer is in violation of guidelines, they ignore the reports and deliberately fail to take action. I know because I have sent reports stating the violation, linking the rule being violated, and included screenshots and video clips. Everything is made perfectly clear. Yet, hours later, the streamer is still streaming doing the same thing. And this has happened many many times over a year.

   If the streamer is continuing to do it, then whatever punishment Twitch is imposing, probably none, is not enough. The streamer continues to do it because they profit from it. Their viewer count goes up and subscriptions increase. The opposite should happen. There are many things that could be done that are not that would be effective such as ending the stream when they see the violation, withholding subscription payments for that month, or banning for increasing periods of time. Increase the punishment until it stops.

   Someone or some multiple staff are fully aware that the streamer is clearly in blatant violation of the rules repeatedly, and they doing nothing. Twitch staff who read these forums might be complicit, so letters need to be written that go over their heads and visits to the offices made to get to the bottom of and isolate the problem. It could be one or a few people conspiring or it could be systemic.

   Over the past year it has happened at least hundred times.

   The rules:

   "Attire

   For all streamers, you must cover the area extending from your hips to the bottom of your pelvis and buttocks....

   ...Swimwear is permitted as long as it completely covers the genitals, and those who present as women must also cover their nipples...

   ...Content subject to this contextual exception must be placed within the Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches category. Content that violates standard attire guidelines and is not subject to this contextual exception (e.g. wearing a bikini outside of pool or beach setting) is still violative even if placed into the Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches category...."

10. All users must activate their twitch account with phone verification and and passport-ID

    Enable full verification of a user with a mobile number and passport ID. So that it can stop people looking for and abusing the young people who stream.
    When the same user can only create a new account with a new e-mail, it does not make security very high for the young people that predators try to take into private rooms. To date I have reported many people trying this.

    If safety is important for those under 18, this should be a matter of high priority. Enable that "everyone" must activate their account with a mobile number.

    This is hair-raising that twitch can't stop this.

    They need there own category to be required to be in. Streams with someone shaking their buttocks in the camera should not be allowed in categories such as Art. I am sick of seeing preview images of them in channel lists. It is disgusting. We should have a choice in whether we see that or not.

    Why is it that Twitch is so concerned about the nudity in games. And yet you have nude and naked streams being allowed and being promoted to the top of the view this.
    
    What is best is that when my kids and their friends go onto the TV and open twitch, suddenly Reccomended for you they habve these Naked women and naked ***** all over the screen.

    Remove the Hot tubs and steamy baths or whatever they have it.
    You cannot report those channels. The minute that you do, it says their is a technical error and you cannot do anything, and its amazinbg you can go onto any other channel or stream and it allows you to report it.

    i keep coming across people on my feed under just chatting sexualizing the platform because of these new tags for sexual content. last i checked this website wasnt for soft core **** or any likes of that. with games and drawings im fine with but having irl people doing these things stretching the guidelines and seeing how far they can get with nudity is horrible. at least give us users the option to not view channels that have the tags on. yes we no longer see the stuff on the main page but the channel names and that like AMOURANTH or morgpie still show in the side bar under "recommended channels" because i have friends that use the tags for when they play games that have that **** in it

15. Sexual Content Policy Update

    To Whom it May Concern at Twitch and whoever else decides to read this,

    While I am not someone who streams on Twitch, though have considered it, and who rarely finds myself watching streams, I still had been rather excited for the recent, now declared null, update to the TOS/Policy on Sexual Content.

    I am not someone who participates all that often in adult content, but I do believe that it should be able to exist in adult spaces for those who do wish to participate. The internet has become a hostile places for those who wish to see or participate in adult spaces, which in turn makes it harder to create safe adult communities with proper monitoring and safety in mind.

    I do not believe the sudden take back of the content policy change was the right thing to do. If anything I believe the best thing Twitch could have done was instead move in the direction of banning the machine learning(AI) content that was mentioned as a reason behind this rollback because of the whole "not being able to tell because of how lifelike it is."
    If there is an obvious problem area — AI content — then that is what should be focused on, not a blanket ban on content. Especially when you readily admitted that most of the content was in line with the new policy and that any content that wasn't was dealt with accordingly.

    Censorship does not work in the way that most people and companies think it does. The only thing censoring content, especially fictional content, does is tilt in favor of those who wish to use the censoring to get rid of anything they do not like, and honestly starts to feel like we're toeing the edges of certain ideals(fas cist) and that we're trying to reinstate the Hays Code <-- something people should look up to learn about why this isn't the way we should be going.

    While I understand the concerns of some people wanting to keep adult content away from minors, and not wishing to see it themselves, there are a few things that they should keep in mind:

    1. It is not the responsibility of adults who create adult content in adult spaces to cater or to look after kids that appear in those spaces. This is entirely the responsibility of the parents, and to an extent the website, to do and prevent.
       If you are afraid that seeing such things will "corrupt their minds" then that sounds like something you have to deal with in yourself, and is also in your responsibilities as a parent and adult to teach your kids about internet safety and sex education.

    2. Online isn't just for kids and adults shouldn't have to give up their spaces for kids. We're allowed to exist and do adult things and we shouldn't have to worry about kids breaking OUR boundaries to access OUR spaces.

    3. If you don't want to see it then don't watch it. No one is forcing you to watch the things you do not want to see.

    4. In my experience online most anyone that has a "think of the children" mindset usually doesn't actually care about kids and is using the kids as an excuse to attack the actual thing they don't want to see. If this is not the case then all my points still stand. If it is, then you should probably have a think about what it really is that you're against and why. Your disgust is not a measure of morality.

    Now, onto what I think Twitch should do:

    1. Separate the adult content from spaces where minors can view or access it. This is not the same as removing it completely.

    2. Create a proper block/blacklist/filtering system that allows people to remove content tagged with certain labels and mature ratings from their feed entirely so they do not have to see what they do not want to.

    3. As an addition to point two, be vigilant and dedicated to making sure that people tag/rate their content properly so the tagging and rating systems work properly.

    4. Be transparent about what adult content is allowed on twitch. As in if you say fictional adult content, be sure to make it clear that all fictional characters must be over the age of eighteen, which I am sure was/is already a rule, but better to restate it than not. Also add examples of allowed content.
       This kind of thing can be tricky though as you cannot really discern age of someone off appearance alone. Example being I just turned thirty and people think I am younger than my sister who is four years younger than me. Or that there are many people who are adults but have small chests or small stature.

    5. Actually have a plan and be ready for the influx of content when you make sure changes to your site. As mentioned previously, most of the internet is a hostile place for adult content so when someone gives the ok to such, there will always be those who push the boundaries to see what is and is not allowed — be transparent about what is ok — and as long as you monitor it then everything should be ok. Of course the beginning will be a bit rocky, but things never start out going the exact way we want them to go, and running away does not allow progress to be made.
       Hire more moderators and pay them fairly for their work.

    6. Remove machine learning(AI) ccontent if it is such a problem that one cannot tell if it is real or not.

16. Hate Raid Mass Report Response

    I noticed a lot of hate raids will flag / report a channel rapidly to get it taken down; and it had me thinking about Steam Review Bombing.

    I was wondering if a possible fix might be that if a channel gets an exceptional amount of flags / reports in a short period of time that those reports are thrown out or logged as possible hate raid? Might allow your automated systems to avoid banning streamers in these situations while not removing the ability to still report content.

    Why is twerking allowed without a label, despite being potentially seen as sexual, while nudity, a natural act, results in legal consequences?

18. Toggle for Content Classification Labels for Personalized Homepages

    ...Streams that are labeled as including -Drugs, -Intoxication, or -Excessive Tobacco Use; -Violent and Graphic Depictions; -Gambling; and/or -Sexual Themes will no longer be included in homepage recommendations shelves due to the visual nature of those topics..."

    "...Viewers can still search for, or go directly to channels they follow that are streaming labeled content via the left bar of the home page..."

    "...Streams with these labels will still be included in Category page recommendations so viewers can navigate to the appropriate category for this content..."

    This technically still hides content creators away and will not let the people who do want to see that content in their own home page enjoy what they like.

    so creating a toggle that allows people to individually see that content classification label - content should be made, specifically if it ever comes down to creating parental controls in the futures it'll be useful for even the Twitch App.

    Which will act as an Age Filter for groups.

    Please consider this.

19. Clarity on the meaning of "Realistically doctored nudity"

    Your "Safety" policy prohibits "realistically doctored nudity" without any explanation or examples of what that even means. I suggest updating the policy to provide clarity on that.

20. Just chatting sexual

    Can we have a separate version on just chatting for sexualy explicit content, whenever viewing the just chatting tab it's nothing but sexually explicit things. Now that it is explicitly allowed by Twitch, why not make it it's own category so just chatting can actually just be chatting.
