  1. Twitch Editorials

    Hello!

Recently I've been writing a series of articles to do with streamers, game reviews, and Twitch-related opinions. I have felt that the community has been very supportive and enthusiastic about my work and I wanted to contact Twitch to discuss the work. The title of the series is 'The Sunshine Experience' and it was found on the 'about' page of my Twitch profile.

I've taken down the work as of yesterday, but would be happy to send over some samples. Twitch has and always will be a home for me, and I would like to move towards…

  2. Sometimes I have to cancel a stream last minute, and I don't have an easy way to notify my regular visitors. I would be nice if there was some kind of a notice board or banner or something you could have come up so that when people come onto your stream expecting to see your stream they can get a notice letting them know that it's cancelled for the day and it'll be rescheduled for xyz time or whatever.

  3. My accumulative channel views have been bugged for quite a while now, I'm not too sure as to why, and even though the twitch stats page since I've started streaming says i have 83.5K views https://gyazo.com/2a0dce85ec82cd2ad9d1b852d2816155 my app only says i have 26.7K views. is there a reason for this being a thing?

  4. It would be cool if twitch has a news section, where all the latest announcements about the game, updates, events, can be posted. The content could be the game developers or even the games community and streamers. An example - the WoW section would be full of wotlk hype, dragonflight hype, updates on talent builds, streamer reviews on the game features. This section could evolve from a news section into even a game bulletin section, where you can feature articles, streamer posts/videos, live streams, links to Amazon / steam to buy the game, merch links. How you don’t have such…

  5. It looks better to have top performing clips as the first thing people see.

If I have 5 clips visible that have 500 views, people are more likely to continue browsing through my content than if the 5 clips visible had 10 views.

It would be great to be able to control this somehow, either through pinning or toggling which filter applies by default (of all time, last 30 days, last 7 days, last 24 hr)

  6. Currently all apostrophes are being displayed as HTML code: &#39semicolon (where "semicolon" is an actual semicolon)

This appears to be the case for all user-entered information across all twitch.tv sections: video titles, video descriptions, profile information pages, etc. Anywhere I can enter information into my twitch.tv account for web display, apostrophes are replaced by the HTML code. It even replaces apostrophes with the HTML code when casting a twitch video/stream to another device, eg: "Now casting to user&#39semicolons device"

  7. When it comes to designing the panels and the diagrams to be able to distribute the information, it is currently poorly done.

We have two types of plot and even playing with empty panels to structure the placement, everything goes crazy, ruining all the work.

When we go to 'About' we have a maximum frame of 5 panels wide and once everything is placed and structured it is perfect, but... when we are live and we simply use the mouse scroll to see the information, the frame varies to a maximum of 6, making all the information appear completely out…

  8. I've changed my username months ago, and since then my avatars images are broken. Avatar url is updated with the new username, but there's no image on the actual url. On inspect, if I change the url path to the old username, the image shows up. If we re-upload the avatars it should fix it, but we shouldn't have to re-upload the avatar every time we change the username.

  9. Appearing on the side of a twitch stream; a bar graph or bar meter that displays the energy or "turntness" of one or more select subscribers. Maybe "judges".

The meter is controlled by a virtual sliding switch or maybe a knob on a viewers twitch panel.

The viewers avatar is displayed under the bar meter to show who's cranking the like meter

    or

Every viewer has access to the sliding switch and an average of each input is implemented into the like meter displayed on screen

For added flair if the meter maxes out, some kind of animation plays

  10. "Chat" sidescreen and "Following channels" sidescreen aren't the same width which makes the stream to be offcenter on screen.

I love to watch stream with both "Chat" sidescreen and "Following channels" sidescreen open so I can see who's online and whatever is going on in chat.

    I suggest two settings :
    - Fixed equal-width
    - User Adjustable width

  11. The title describes it pretty well.

But it would be MUCH better for discoverability and would provide a better idea of what a streamers channel is actually like instead of some random out of context clip that could potentially reflect poorly on the streamer or not be a true reflection of the experience a viewer would have.

  12. A badge/emote showcase on your profile for viewers to showcase their earned/favorite badges or emotes. Maybe this could replace the list of channel-specific badges that show up when you click someone's name in chat.

  14. I follow and unfollow streamers regularly. For new streamers I discover, I follow and check their "Schedule" tab. When we click the next broadcast scheduled we are allowed to click on a "Remind Me" feature.

It would be great to have a live (24/7) page of all these Reminders we set for ourselves (of upcoming streams including dates and duration times).

It would help followers (who use this feature a lot) to plan their non-Twitch time around the streamers they want to see.

As for me, I use this feature heavy, so I cannot remember everyone I follow and set…

  16. Information on the "home" tab is useful, but I don't want it to be the first thing people see when they come to my channel. I'd much rather they see the panels that I paid to have designed, and the information I put there specifically to be front and center.
I do like the information such as Recent games played, and the other channels to check out. I'd like it if there were a way to merge the two so that the information on the home tab is readily accessible, but NOT what immediately greets the viewers.

  17. In our panels we're able to use markdown, which is great. One of those options is quotes. This indents the text and places a bar at the beginning of the line. This bar, however, is twitch-purple. This clashes with a lot of streamers' chosen colors. I know it certainly looks horrible in mine.

In our channel settings under brand, we set an accent color for our channel. I would very much appreciate it if that color was used for quotes in our panels too.

  19. Basically, this idea would be for if a person were to unfollow a channel, a prompt would show up asking them to give a reason as to why they're unfollowing. For example, a streamer's content has been "getting old or repetitive" could be a reason, or they are "not interacting with their chat" as much, or any other reason like that. A streamer could enable or disable this feature depending on whether or not they want feedback from the people who unfollow them. The Twitch users who do unfollow can also choose to not answer why they are unfollowing, and…

  20. Hello today I want to talk about an idea that came to my mind today, the introduction of a "community" page, what will this community section allow to do? will allow you to write or view your followers through a "comment" that is read if a user goes to the "community" section to avoid the problem that not all followers follow their creators on our social networks, maybe it would be nice even with the addition of leaving reactions, but not a like or a dislike but reactions with the emoij available on twitch.
