1. Get rid of Fire Alarm Ad

   I don’t know what made someone think adding an ad about batteries (I believe) that involves a smoke detector going off right at the start was a great ad revenue option. I can think of literally thousands of other ads that I’d prefer to encounter. Horrific for headphone users. Can’t imagine trying to watch a stream late at night and having that ad be the one to go off. Absolutely unpleasant experience.

2. Make it a choice to participate in the ad, and give individual users credit.

   Make it optional to even watch the multiplayer ad, and incentivize participating by awarding the viewers with the bits. This is not a great replacement for bit ads, all individuality is taken away, and this is just another thing to obscure or block the content I'm currently trying to watch, and being FORCED into, instead of CHOOSING to support by watching ads. In addition, if I'm subbed to a creator, ad breaks and ads when joining the stream do not play, so if I suddenly wind up being forced into ads so the streamer can give himself some bits by making all/most of chat watch an ad, I'm going to be pretty upsetti spaghetti.

3. Selective ad punishment

   Give mods and streamer ability to give specific users an ad break.

   Limit it only to three times before real ban.

   Reasoning:
   sometimes users will say dumb stuff in chat and/or something offensive instead of banning (which just causes user to make a new account or wait etc) make them watch an ad. Can be a minor punishment. And also can be a reward to spend channel points on. Give another user an ad break could be fun.

   However this will make channels toxic in some cases so maybe have it as a feature toggle that a streamer can enable on their channel at will. Also could result in worse chats if they think they can get away with something. Probably better to make an a/b testing for streamers to try out and see if community is less or more toxic.

4. use my mother tongue für advertisement

   It's kind of stupid to run ads in a language I don't understand or from a country I don't live in. I neither buy products abroad nor watch movies in a language I do not understand. Finally stop sending advertisements based on IP address when my language is on my profile.

5. Reformat the Ad Structure.

   Content obtrusive ads are bad for live form content. They work for YouTube and Television where the content can be put on a break until the advertisement is done, however for Twitch the ads will often block important content especially when first joining a stream.

   1. Pre-roll ads need to use unobtrusive forms of advertisement. Since pre-roll ads are the only ads forced to run without authorization from the streamer, they are the ads that most likely will directly affect viewing content the streamer does not want you to miss. As a result these ads will discourage viewers from watching, especially when having to click through streamers to see exactly what is going on with their content.

   2. The pop out window for the stream when an obtrusive ad is being played is extremely small, having an alternative viewer for this would be greatly appreciated. This could include allowing for use of multiple monitors if available, or an alternative viewer like full screen and theater modes which allow for the ad remain large but give a larger section of screen real estate to the stream as well. These should be optional toggles.

7. Not running random mid-roll ads that completely cut the audio and reduce the stream to a size that's worthless to view.

   If I am subbed to a streamer, it is because I want to support them and not see ads. If you're going to run random 3 min mid-rolls on the channel ANYWAY, then I don't see the point in giving you or them my money. The current twitch advertisement model is irritating, breaks the flow of content, and is VASTLY devistating to the chat interaction of smaller streamers; especially the ones who are taking the time to kindly answer specific questions, only to be interrupted by multiple mid-roll ads they have no control over. If this isn't intended, fix it. If it is, then change it.

8. Front page streams dont get preroll ads.

   If I see a stream on the front page, and whatever is going on on that stream has hooked my attention, that attention is immediately destroyed upon clicking on the stream and an ad plays. Whatever topic is passed, whatever song they may be playing is missed, whatever fight they may be in is over. This then makes me want to simply not watch the stream, and remain on front page, lest I miss out on what is SUPPOSED to get me clicking on the stream. And then instead of joining that stream after I watched the hook that was supposed to get me into the stream but didnt because I want to watch the stream and not watch twitch make money on other peoples work, I then click on one of the streams I follow or sub.

10. please add Pre roll count down on chat

    having pre roll count down on the twitch chat similar to where the hype train is - so streamers dont need to keep an additional browser source open to watch the dashboard.

    Id like to be able to tell from within my obs software when ads are playing

    you want us to run ads - please make it accessible and easy for us to do so from within our streaming software so the process isn't disruptive for viewers.

11. Reward the Individual for Multiplayer Ads

    It sounds like the viewer won't be rewarded for participating in multiplayer ads. When one plays and bits are unlocked, I feel that it should count towards how many bits the individual has cheered. It adds a bit more incentive to doing it and also helps now that ads for bits are gone.

12. I'm thinking of never visiting Twitch again because of bad ad experience

    Especially the "Meica Flashking Ad" here in Germany is really driving me crazy. It's a cool idea, and I even looked it up manually only seeing this campaign is already 2 years old. Why run ads with that?
    But the real problem is, I only get THAT ad, I must have watched it at least a 100 times already, it keeps coming up.
    When I finally decided which channel to stick by and give them the 15 second ad revenue, I am briefly excited to watch the streamer. But that does not last very long because 5 minutes into the stream the ad comes up AGAIN. I then close Twitch because I'm so frustrated.

    When will Twitch realize its creators are producing LIVE content and stream ads are so disruptive when you miss 15 to 30 seconds of it.
    I truly understand this business runs off of ads - but trust me, I wouldn't write here if the current situation was anywhere near acceptable.
    Here's my suggestions:
    - Run banner ads
    - Run small overlay ads (as YouTube does)
    - Run pip ads like in television where the streamer content shrinks a bit and then there's ads on the side

    Los anuncios son más que en la tv. Adicional tapa el audio y te pierdes mucho. 5 anuncios de casi un minuto cada 3 minutos, insólito. Estoy considerando dejar de usar twitch.

14. Multiplayer Ads: Benefit both, the creator and the viewer

    The idea of rewarding only the creator for every vote seems like a wasted opportunity for me, normal ads do that already.

    Instead, what about giving back to both, the creator and the viewer?

    The way I understand it, every vote seems to get a certain value (e.g. 5 bits) which will then be all added together and sent to the creator after the ad is over.

    What if instead of bits, this value would be divided into gifted subs and every participant then gets a chance to win one of them, while any possible remainder gets paid in bits to the creator.

    This way, viewers would have more of an incentive to participate in these interactive ads, the creator would have more of an incentive to run them, and all sides have the chance to get something in return.

17. Muted Stream After ADS

    Everytime after a add is rolled, when it is over the stream comes back muted, and is really annoying having to got back and unmute the stream.

18. Streamers need to be told about ads..

    I have my ads set to run 3.7 times per hour but if the streamer isn’t told a Ad is running the viewers will miss out along with the streamer… you need to put the Following in chat. “Ad has started” only the streamer an see this … or “Ad will start in 10secs and last 2 minutes etc… then “AD ENDED”

19. Ad revenue improvment for twitch and streamers

    Showing Ads while the streamer takes a 1 min rest or so by the choice of the streamer.
    That will increase the Ad revenue to the streamer and to Twitch as well.
    but, it has to be a minimum of 1 hour between each Ad display so that it would be acceptable.
    Regions based Ads are better in that situation, by a click of a button by a streamer an Ad will display for a maximum of 1 min then display the streamer screen afterward.

    upvote for the idea to mainly benefit small streamer.

20. Its just to much

    I watch several streams, every night, for years. At first I had no problem with ads, but now every 15 minutes there is an ad. I dont enjoy watchings streams anymore. Sometimes I opened up 5 different Streams at the same time and every stream has an ad running. I just want to see what they are doing and have a good time. Most of the time I instant close twitch. As a streamer im really worried about this but as a viewer im just sad and dont enjoy streams anymore and the streamers arent even to blame.. I dont want to leave twitch but thats too much ads.
