1. Let streamers use amazon blacksmith in place of video ads.

   Instead of having disruptive and user experience unfriendly pre-roll and midroll ads automatically play for streamers, with their only alternative being still disrupting their own content by playing ads manually to turn off preroll ads for a period of time, allow streamers and content creators to fill in an amazon blacksmith list of recommended purchases for the viewers. Viewers are a lot more likely to take the list seriously vs a 10-15 second ad by a big corporation, and is more valuable to all parties involved. Twitch/amazon could even suggest items for the viewer to possibly add to the list to improve it, or, although slightly worse, include "paid ad content" within the list itself that people have to click to view and will actively be browsing. Move the video ads to the top right corner if you still want to play them, but please stop disrupting the streamers content with the ads and hurting stream discoverability with ads, it totally kills raids. A blacksmith list will do infinitely better than any premade video ad, while being infinitely less disruptive and negatively impactful to the user experience.

2. Ad immunity with Ad gamification

   User controlled ad experience:

   -Users run their own ads to build up an "ad immunity" duration for their current account.
   -This ad immunity duration will allow the user to view streams without encountering preroll/midroll/other ads for this period.
   -Longer the ads watched the longer the ad free duration.
   -Can have an upper limit of ad free viewing time, requiring additional ad viewing to top off the duration.
   -Users can choose who gets the ad revenue share, depending on where they trigger the ads to view. Either with a channel they want to support, or give the share to Twitch. Use button prompt to choose revenue split and keep user engaged with the ads.

   Ad Gamification:
   Give users more incentive to run ads themselves via daily/weekly/monthly goals to work towards.
   +Rewards can include but not limited to:
   -bits
   -exclusive emotes
   -exclusive temporary emote edit options
   -exclusive badges

   Example,
   Ads season pass goal can include:
   -Watch ten 30 seconds ads: rewards X bits
   -Shared ad revenue with X amount of channels: thumbs up emote edit option for 24 hours
   -Viewed one hundred 30 seconds ads: 1 random ad emote
   -Viewed one thousand 30 seconds or longer ads: tier 1 ads badge

   The main idea is to allow users to run ads on their own time, and give themselves an uninterrupted time to visit Twitch and view familiar or new content creators. Users understand the importance of advertising, but they do not have any control over how that is presented to them (currently being slammed with ads with every visit/refresh).
   Give users the control for ads, allow them to customize their ad experience, and even personalized ad preferences so they're more open to the idea of the product/services being shown.

   Let the ads be a positive experience for everyone, Twitch users understand games, let this be fun and profitable at the same time.

4. when an ad plays, another ad plays in the window for the stream

   its only happened a couple of times, but when an ad plays, the smaller window that opens in the top left above chat for the stream just plays another ad

5. Ad Redesign

   If you guys are going to completely FORCE ads down our throats, you need to do one of three things:
   1) By far the easiest solution - Make Ads Skippable after X seconds.
   2) Make ads something that pops up as a Picture in Picture in the corner or something when a stream is running. I honestly like this one the best because I honestly wouldn't have an issue checking out whatever is being advertisted as well as (and I cant stress this enough) NOT MISSING STREAM CONTENT because someone wants to run 7-10 15-30 second ads in a row. That's beyond insane.
   3) Make Prime Subs ad free.

   Ads are ENTIRELY too intrusive now and I've found a workaround for Ads now, fortunately, but this needs to be fixed. I don't mind ads if they support the streamer but NOT at the expense of my viewing experience. Joining a stream to check out what's happening and then being forced to wait 30 seconds to actually see something is by far one of the worst things about the ad viewing experience. STOP.

6. Ads should be based on watch time, not based on stream.

   If I'm switching between channels looking for a good stream, I have to sit through a minute-long ad each time. More often than not, this leads me to stop watching Twitch as I don't have the patience to sit through so many ads.

8. There is an Audio Bug

   I wanted to give some feedback on the new ad experience. There is an audio bug that resets the volume to maximum after setting it to a predefined setting. So I turn it down during one ad then the next ad sets volume to max and screams at me. Using Microsoft Edge (Chromium), Windows 10 Pro.

9. maybe DON'T put a commercial in live stream play ?

   Congrats, you have succeeded in being shittier then Youtube, They at least pause videos when they cram advertisers down your throat. It kinda ruins the point in watching live streams (as apposed to pre recorded video) when you miss chunks of the live stream to feed corporate greed. thanks!

10. Provide Clear Feedback On Mid-Roll Ad Testing and Future Plans

    In a tweet today Twitch Support stated "Thank you for all of your feedback. We have completed the mid-roll ads test. Ads are an essential part of keeping Twitch freely available and we understand your concerns. We'll continue to work on ways to improve the viewer ad experience and give streamers more control."

    Please do more to communicate that the concerns of broadcasters and viewers were understood.

    I am interested in what Twitch learned from the testing of mid-roll ads. What concerns did you notice trending and what feedback specifically are you accounting for in making "improvements" to advertising on the platform. Will Twitch make adjustments to their testing process, such as smaller batch size (e.g. Twitch Ambassadors)?

    Some transparency on implementation of a site mechanic that can (and did) have extremely damaging results on viewership for broadcaster is vital to our ability to plan and implement content around these changes. Thank you.

12. Werbung komplett weg lassen oder zu Beginn des streams

    Wenn man jedem streamer nen sub gibt den man schaut ist man am Ende pleite, es verdient nicht jeder so viel. Und wenn ich alle 30min. Werbung an schauen muss verpasst man mind. Die Hälfte und die wichtigsten schlüsselszenen vom Stream. Da kann ich gleich zum normalen tv umschalten. Es werden sicher einige dadurch abspringen weil die keine **** auf Werbung haben. Wenn man nem stream joint ist es ok mal Werbung einzublenden, aber während dessen bitte nicht

13. [mobile] UX improvements

    Picture-In-Picture was a good idea to roll ads non invasively. It initially dawned on my but I was unsure how to provide that feedback.

    The UX on mobile is still rather rough when it comes to pre-roll ads, especially when people are co-streaming and you want to quickly swap between two channels.

    I propose that on mobile, rather than play a video for an advertisement, a silent banner is placed under the video player, which could be used to embed dynamic content, for maybe ~5 seconds and then it could be dismissed. Keeping in mind that users might not have the best connection on mobile, this banner would ideally contain something that is lightweight.

    As they are, advertisements on can also be quite jarring. If, for example, a user is wearing earphones and the stream volume is lower than the ad volume, then the user will experience possibly pain and discomfort while the louder advertisement is playing. Something perhaps to feedback to Amazon and your partners. This is a relatively frequent experience when watching a VoD.

    I think in general, invasive advertisements are not appreciated, and more so on mobile, but it is one which is inescapable for the platform. Your attempts to address these challenges are appreciated of course. There are solutions to this problem but they are beyond the scope of this initial proposal.

15. Please don't run ads at source quality as some of us have low bandwidth.

    This can also be a problem if we already have another stream running as it will pause/buffer due to the bandwidth being sucked up by the ad.

16. Disable "Live shopping" section for twitch turbo subscribers

    I pay for twitch turbo specifically to avoid being served ads. The "Live Shopping" section is trying to sell stuff, which is not something I go to twitch for, and I haven't seen it show up without the "Sponsored" label below it.

    That is an ad. I'm paying $12 a month to get rid of ads; I should not have a section of the sidebar perpetually taken up by an ad.

    Can't remove "Live Shopping". I will NEVER buy anything advertised to me on twitch. I NEVER want to see my side panel filled up with commercial slop channels. Could you just not. Have to use adblockers just to use the ****ing user interface.

    There is no idea accompanying this. This is absolutely a complaint. Advert "breaks" that can last anything between 15 seconds and THREE AND A HALF MINUTES when a streamer is clearly not in a position to allow for it, does not incentivise me to give the platform my money. It's pushing me away to other platforms that do allow me to skip ads relatively quickly.

Care to share the results of the "experiment" that led the company to continue with the disruptive approach to a streamer and viewer's livelihood and user experience? Or are you going to disregard this feedback as merely a disgruntled user who contributes nothing who's getting a frustration off their chest?
