1. Toggle ads

Steamers should be able to toggle ads on their streams instead of being forced to have ads that they might not want or even profit from

2. Change how ads are delivered completely.

   Here's a few ideas:
   • Banner Ads - Delivered SPECIALLY on Live content and VOD. Shows a banner when the viewer joins and every 30 minutes up to 8 times.
   • Video Ads - Delivered ONLY in VODs, and only before playing out the VOD.
   • Intermission Ads - Delivered manually by the streamer by using a custom command, the ad takes over the player and puts the stream on a corner of the player (a little less of 1/4 of the player itself), playing non-repeated ads until the ad limit is reached, 10 minutes passes, or the streamer enters the command again. Consider this a "BRB ad break".

Another option: allow the users to pick how they want ads to be delivered to them. I saw this in a "booru" image gallery once where the users were allowed to pick at least 1 out of 3 (and later 4) methods they could deliver ads.

Lastly: Instead of VICIOUSLY competing against ad blockers and people wanting to block ads, POLL THEM ON WHY THEY ARE BLOCKING IT. Know your userbase, so you can know how to have them be comfortable with the ads. Remember: if the people are resorting to third parties to enjoy your content, it's because there's a problem with the service you offer.

3. Delay Ads After Asking A Question

When looking for new streamers, it's common to interact with the streamer and ask questions, especially before subscribing. It would be great if ads were delayed after a user asks a question in chat. I was recently watching a streamer with 200-300 viewers while actively engaging with his chat. I asked a question and then as soon as he began responding, was given four ads. Personally, I see value in mitigating this. Let me know if you agree!

5. If you're going to force ads on us, at least put it in the right language.

You (twitch) clearly don't give a **** about it's users. I am English. I live in Eastern Ontario (Canada) STOP GIVING ME ADS IN FRENCH, GERMAN AND OTHER LANGUAGES. MY PREFERENCE IS SET FOR ENGLISH.

OBVIOUSLY THAT MEANS IM ENGLISH SPEAKING AND PREFER ENGLISH INTERFACE. WHY THE **** WOULD YOU THEN PLAY ADS IN OTHER RANDOM LANGUAGES.

You people are complete idiots that can't even get something this simple correct.

8. ads

Same Ads will run twice or more on Xbox twitch app and twitch mobile for iphone. and there seems to be no fix to this unless i completely close the app and reopen the app completely and sometimes re entering a stream after closing while restart the process from the start. This must be a bug that needs to be fixed soon, its really lame to be watching a competetive event and getting a roll of 6 ads that wont ever stop running

10. tired of ads

Every content has ads. But running 5 30-second commercials in 10 minutes ****** viewers off. We don't watch ads by subscribing to a publisher I like to avoid watching Prime ads, but we don't have to subscribe to everyone to avoid watching ads. Reduce advertising to prime members. tired of ads

15. You lost me due to ads

Intro ads are fine, closing/raid ads are fine, streamer chosen time ads are fine, banner ads on the website are fine, buying in for an ad free experience is fine. Look at all that. Now look how you are destroying your website. Nobody is fine with this. Stop at what you can actually get away with and leave the rest alone. I'm done and moving on.

17. Blocking Streams with Ads Means Twitch will NEVER be Profitable

Twitch will never be profitable with broadcast-blocking advertisements. You block the LIVE VIDEO MID BROADCAST!

What you accomplish with this is frustrating the users or deterring them from testing the service or new streamers.

You then ask for subs or turbo to stop the interuptions or encourage people to use third-party software to just be able to enjoy the main use of your service without missing LIVE VIDEO DURING THE LIVE BROADCAST defeating the entire purpose of the service/Twitch, the ads or the potential revenue.

This is further exasperated by increasing the number of mid-roll ads based on chat activity and other metrics to actively interrupt high-tension moments to encourage subs or turbo.

Therefore you get far less revenue from each ad, sub and turbo than you would from any of them otherwise such as with scaling non-intrusive ads and no pre-roll/mid-roll FULL VIDEO BLOCKING advertisements.

Instead, you could have a mix of in-page ads, on-video ads in set spots for set games or categories or as moveable widgets for streamers. These wouldn't frustrate users nearly as much, viewers or streamers. This would improve discovery, user retention and would exponentially improve scaleable ad and subscriber revenue.

P.S. I was here. In an ad break. Missing the moment. Getting frustrated and disengaged instead of enjoying the content and community.

18. monetize clips / VODs / Highlights with banner ads

I found myself watching vods of one of my favorite streamers, but I left to watch it on youtube so that he could get ad revenue. There should be a way to monetize pre recorded content too with banner ads and possibly gifting bits and subs directly to a clip/ moment/ vod/ etc.
