Since the creation of twitch creative last year, there's been a great community growing. Twitch has made a new and exciting platform for artists to connect with their audience that hasn't really existed before. It allows for such a personal connection between the art, artist, and viewer. When I see artwork from an artist that I watch regularly, not only do I see their beautiful creation, I remember special moments when they completed a section of their work.
On October 28th, 2015, when Twitch creative was announced on the Twitch blog they wrote, ”We expect to learn much about what is, and is not, appropriate for Twitch as the community grows.”
After a year of silence, I hope that the community can get some answers and solutions to this important issue.
For clarity here are the terms of service regarding nudity.
For Twitch gaming:
“Nudity can't be a core focus or feature of the game in question, and modded nudity is disallowed in its entirety. Occurrences of in-game nudity are permitted, so long as you do not make them a primary focus of your broadcast and only spend as much time as needed in the area to progress the game's story.”
For Twitch Creative:
“We are working on ways to ensure that artists can produce the work that they want, while also fostering a safe space for the community as a whole. We ask that you refrain from creating or using depictions of nudity or extreme violence until those features are implemented.”
For gaming, nudity can't be the primary focus. For creative, nudity can't be shown at all.
These rules imposed upon the creative community, cripple creators and the viewers knowledge from such a fundamental core of drawing, the human anatomy. Artists want to share their creative process, including their skills as they improve. How can they improve when the necessary knowledge of human anatomy is forbidden?
When game designers make a choice to have nudity in their games, the majority of the time it's for sexualized purposes.
However what the creative community wants is to at least have nudity as an educational tool to build upon our skills as artists to further our understanding of anatomy.
Today you can view nudity in games, however if there's a drawing thats somewhat suggestive it's a bannable offense.
Just as flowers, sunsets, and mountains are useful tools in the artist’s toolkit, the unadorned human body can be an essential tool to express the pure emotion of what the artist is trying to convey. Artists use nudity as a tool to focus attention on the human form, and not irrelevant aspects like how their shirts are buttoned, how clothing is being draped, or whether they are wearing the most stylish kind of hat. And if the point of art is to primarily express ideas about the nature of humanity and our role in the world, then it would be natural to expect the nude body would be among the most powerful of those expressive tools.
Artists deserve the same level of freedom as gamers. To put a lid on our talent diminishes the range of appreciation for the human condition and causes us to constantly edit our creativity.
I want the artwork I experience to be created with the best training, the most creative ideas, and the widest freedom to use all those things to make the most excellent works that best efforts can achieve. To do any less would make the world a worse place to live.
You allow gamers to play their games. Allow artists to create their masterpieces.
OMFG... I couldn't find a word too describe your thought's...
But I guess that you are such a Sneaky Pete, that is only in "Just Chatting"-Channels like you described yourself!
I'm Gamer and a Hardware-*****, some People would say...
But thx for your pointless Input :D
Well put, thanks for this.
Think Twitch is well overdue for a Twitch After Dark Adult Content Category already.
This would be incredibly useful for artists who host figure drawing or anatomy study sessions. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time, and haven't been able to do, due to the guidelines. I would like to add that I am not a NSFW artist, just someone who draws the human form. Typically, artists will draw the human form first, then clothing / accessories later.
jamiechestnut: Hey artists shouldn't be getting banned for barbie doll anatomy that they just haven't drawn the clothes onto yet, we should have some leniency for artistic nudity if the subject isn't provocative.
Someone else, inevitably: B-B-BUT HOTTUB STREAMER THOTS BAD
THE POST IS NOT ABOUT REAL LIFE NUDITY jesus.
Servus nach Austria. du darft gerne contact aufnemen info is auf miene twitch
I stream german as a dutch, next to a dutch channel which is totally dead in a small country the netherlands and belgium.
So I read German yes, I don't speak perfect. I have read your opinion well.
This is exactly as you mentioned, only Twitch is usa doesn't read German, so I'll keep it in English.
The faq is Twitch has a double standard, even though they don't like to hear this. But I say this anyway.
Beach hottube, you see more than on a usa television.
Example a millionaire like amrath becomes twitch rich. we call this **** Papa. But the double standard is, creative footographers, body painters (NOT PARTNER) Belemert are sometimes cheated by Twitch with bans.
Gelijke moniken Gelijken kappen (English Equal Monks Equal Hoods ) German Gleiche Mönche, gleiche Hauben.
Always ban B content.
4- As a photographer I often work with contracts in which the use of photo / video content is stated, for use purpose is / is not allowed by model as photographer.
I will be 60 in 3 years, my time is running down a bit, to 4x brain stroke. This is only noticeable in my voice, everything else works reasonably well except voice and language control is gone. I can look back on 40 years of success full Not a professional photographer, I have seen more women in front of the camera, with and without clothes, this means nothing to me anymore, yes I can say from contacts counted for 40 years 31,599 working with models, Besides nature / Landscape / urban photography.
The future for other Artists in art and photography will be very limited in a sick Woke and Gender War thing where people are pitted against each other by corporations, governments, sick Elites.
Unfortunately, Twitch has also fallen very doep woke and Gender Agenda, in accordance with Agenda 2030 and 2050. Stop this Twitch.
Do normal stop woke stop gender nonsense, And stop that double moral daddy, It's still like Equal Monks Equal Hoods, both parties same rights, and income and its content.
Many people have already commented here, plenty of examples, how to work, handle, give tips.
I say again,
Beach hotube / photography lingerie bikini allow yes.
But Never Hardcore pron, no webcam ****, for this you have lslive ect and pron hub, go there if you still have. I agree with Twitch on this. anyway. we are only a small **** streamer Not Partners but small tricky affiliate streamers that's how many streamers feel this. This topic has been going on for a long time, nothing will ever change folks. because Partners like Amerah have become rich and twitch takes 50% for those who don't know this. 50%/50% Partners income.
Affiliate is only 30% worldwide in revenue.
So nothing will ever change, and especially if you turn 60 in 3 years, the time is still short, may be happy I can turn 60.
I'm not going to put my good driving and energy into Twitch anymore
discssies, Twitch is USA and usa is pruets, woke and gender nonsense.
Twitch should be neutral, treat everyone the same.
I don't care if you're a man, a woman, or a woman with penises. for me all this is allowed, all welcome for coffee with me.
Are you a content creator photographer, bodypaint, or some bech hottube. this is allowed. at Twitchtvfalcons everyone is equal how she/he feels.
I don't have double standards. and whoever does this on my channel will receive a perma ban FAQ.
Twitch Netherlands is too cowardly Moroons don't dare to argue with me, they are scared like a dog with the start between the legs. They are afraid of me as an almost 60 year old game straemer, and photographer. You always get standard answers, without substantive understudy bikes, also twitchgermany and usa. says more about them Than all of us.
I challenge Twitch Germany Twitch Nederland and Twitch usa HQ.
Come in zoom call Discuss, substantiate your prohibitions. I know I'm talking to you under the table. Oh wait Twitch don't want this Can't stand the truth. double standard of morality. But I challenge them to talk. you have my address, 2023 is twitch sick with double standards, and woke and gender war. this doesn't belong in a company , Equal Monks Equal Hoods And not one does the other.
Good luck with it folks, content creators like twich
Twitchtvfalcons german channel
Korhoender (mean in eng Black grouse ) dutch flemish channel
It's hilarious how none of the people responding to this read the thread and are just equating all nudity to ****.
The problem is that **artists are being banned for having sketches that they simply haven't drawn the clothes on yet**. Artists are being banned for drawing a base figure with, at worst, barbie doll anatomy that they fully intend to put clothes on later down the line (because you need to have something to put the clothes onto first) but nudity in games and even full on r*pe scenes like in Silent Hill 2 are totally fine??
Read the room. If you don't understand what the question is about, don't vote. Don't post.
Guten Tag erstmal, Servus!
Problem with Twitch.tv, Americans are very squeamish, with a double standard.
All these streamer girls, are Partners, allowed naked in a thong, toples bodypaint, look amerath, hotube beach small bikini, thong. on a banana, looks more like a cheap pron.
But as a Model Photographer in Art, Lingegrie, Bikni, (No Nude) gets banned from streaming his/her work, even banned.
I myself am also quite opposed. Because I'm Not a Partner.
Twitch hinders, creator work, for the future. and income.
Twitch ***** on that. Because twitch is the pimpdady for Beach Hotube pools Partner streamers, making billions of dollars in profits off those girls' backs. This is an FAQ.
Double standard, double standard, And pointing a finger at non partners and artists especially photographers. Well Twitch has been showing its true face for some time now.
art shouldnt be censored over this, I know a streamer that was banned for drawing a top on a body sketch. Twitch took it as lingere or a bra but it was just the start of the drawing and was punished. Thats ridiculous and inexcusable especially for someone who streams full time.
I hate how its demonized, its so excessive while theres still so much other content thats blatantly more sexual.
raise the age for entry from 13 to something like 16, or better yet for younger viewers lock them out viewing any streams with the MATURE setting, or go the way of youtube kids.
Also some people talking about how whitelisting yourself for this content is suspicious but when anyone with a sub button on twitch has ALREADY provided this information so they can already be cleared for that. IMO its not something Id like to do as a casual viewer but for content by someone I support Id probably oblige.
Also with the fact that becoming a twitch partner forbids you from streaming on other services in the contract they cant LEGALLY do this can they without voiding what they mainly do.
(No Spoilers, tranquilos <3) Y yo preocupado por seguir retransmitiendo en el Outlast 2, en esa "Parte" en concreta...
when you start breaking down the barriers of normality then you set very dangerous standards
Nudity, in the context of art (especially things like anatomy practice for artists) should be categorized as an +18 Art Stream. Explicit artwork of things like pornography should obviously be put up on another platform due to the nature of the content, but if for example a user was recreating an old Renaissance piece for study where the person(s) may be engaged in a violent, suggestive and/or lewd scene for personal practice, the individual should not be punished for such.
This would also be incredibly useful for monitoring creatives - who may do things such as 3D sculpting - to be able to create & share slightly Gorey/Suggestive WIPs with their audience, so long as it does not directly cross into a realm of illegal, morally wrong, or pornographic content.
In the context of regular streamers, an 18+ category blocked by a age-restriction wall/account verification would be beneficial to streamers looking to have less wholesome streams and *not* looking to advertise themselves to younger users in order to have serious or mature conversation going in their chat. If the platform is still wanting to support female streamers doing Hot Tub/Hot Yoga/Etc. (usually borderline lewd streams), then having a category for casual adult streamers to browse through may filter better for some users to find their new favorite content creators/genres. There are genuine streamers interested in fitness & others who could be or are abusing the tag for potentially borderline suggestive content.
So after reading some comments and some other information as such, there's no reason for people that don't do art, or watch artist to get a vote/comment here, if you don't understand the issue, or are not affected by it then you don't have that issue.
All and every people who is saying "nudity shouldn't be allowed" is just a purist/******* who just sexualizes everything and everyone for no reason at all, grow up, drink your respect juice and stfu, you are the reason why we can't have nice things.
And if you're a parent who doesn't want this because childs and such, guess what, if they watch those streams is your fault, for being a terrible parent and not knowing what your kid is watching, its no ones faults but your's if your kid use your credit card to buy something online, so suck it up and stop bullying artist or any other type of streams with 18+ content.
Someone writes down really good reasons as to why (artistic) nudity isn't necessarily sexuality and all you read in the comments is "BUT HOTTUB". Like, bruv, get over your ego, stop being jealous and stop sexualising women.
All in all, take nudity and everything similar to a different website. And please fix the hot tub issue. Thanks.
Also, someone mentioned filling out a ton of sensitive info to verify your identity (info including your physical address, ID, phone number, and other sensitive info). If God forbid another "accidental" leak occurs at twitch, all of our sensitive info has the potential of being put out into the ether for anyone's taking. If you're an anonymous streamer, you won't be anymore, the second you hit upload on any one of those files.
Nudity is already practically allowed on twitch. Just type in "hot tub" or "yoga" or "stretching". It sucks because some people actually do have exercising channels where they do ACTUAL yoga, but the much bigger streamers who profit off their physical appearance overcast those people drastically. Trust twitch to not do anything about it, despite smaller streamers being banned for less severe infractions. Twitch is making WAYYYY too much money off these streamers to care about how people feel regarding this topic.
Nudity shouldn't be that big a deal in 2021, humans have bodies just like every other creature on this planet. Twitter has allowed nudity & even sex for years at this point & Instagram allows some partial nudity. Any advertiser who would break ties with Twitch over a naked body is not worth Twitch's time, money & massive audience. Some people say this wouldn't be "fair" because female streamers would make more money then their male counterparts, I feel this is a lackluster argument. The audience some female streamers have are already made up of different folks then the people who watch Warzone streamers for example. It's like saying K Dramas take away money from Michael Bay movies. Also the top earners on Twitch are male, just look at the top 20 on TwitchTracker. Also the people who tend to have these negative sentiments/arguments towards nudity tend to come from online communities with not the best views of women. As for users under 18, Twitch can add strict age verification rules, All Korean streaming sites already do this. At the end of the day though, it's up to parents because even with the strictest rules on Twitch, kids can still access Google, Bing & Yandex & view socially inappropriate sites & content for their age if parents don't step in. Also it's worth pointing out that nudity & sex are different things, so the argument that nude = 18+ is more of a cultural one & not necessarily true. I think if Twitch were to allow nudity, it would be a bold progressive move in the right direction towards more inclusivity & social acceptance. It would also help normalize the human body, which has been a problem in America in particular for quite some time.
