Make all AI features optional, and opt-out by default.
For any features on Twitch which use AI, allow all creators to opt in or opt out of them individually, and set the default to Opt Out for all new AI features. We as creators should have the choice whether to use AI or not on our channels. If we do not want to use it at all, it's important for us to be able to have that choice, AND for us not to be opted in by default.

Just gonna bump this again in light of the recent announcement about partnering with OpenAI. Your users clearly do not want this, please listen to them.

If Twitch wants AI, that will be the fastest exodus of real life creators using the platform.
So basically you actively want to reduce payouts to real people, charge your advertisers millions, then pay your own bots so you're keeping all the profits.
So... that's that, then. :)

Giving creators full control over channel customization and automated features is so important for building authentic community experiences. Whether streaming IRL community IRL broadcasts, outdoor events, or local gatherings, creators need tools that offer flexibility and clear controls without adding unnecessary friction.
For streamers who host outdoor IRL streams or cover local community celebrations, having reliable event schedules is super helpful—resources like Annual Festivals in My County: https://countyfestivals.com/ make planning live outdoor broadcasts much easier.
Giving creators opt-in choice over feature rollouts ensures everyone can tailor their channel setup to fit their specific stream format!

AI shouldn't even belong on a platform like this

i’m so tired of AI infesting everything. i’m tired of hearing about it. creators should have a choice and definitely opt out by default! i’m sure a lot of us are tired of it in many forms. it can have its uses but until things are properly done regarding genAI
/ IP property infringements, the use of people’s likeness without consent, the water usage issues…as a whole? not interested -

What's even the point of user voice if they're just going to steamroll over it.

It should always be an option, but it's horrible they're doing it in the first place.

Game publishers should chime in about how they feel about their game footage and intellectual property being ingested on an industrial scale. Class action lawsuits abound.

Totally agree, if they want to integrate it that bad, at least
give the rest of us a choice about it. -

It should be illegal. Enabling it by default and selling my data. WTH? Totally disgustin' behavior and zero respect to my privacy. You turn something ON without MY confirmation and harvest MY data. Next what? Collecting my voice and face data (and why I'm not sure that you don't do it already)? Maybe activating auto-sub to random strangers? Who cares, right? Never gonna use your services for going live anymore, even if you change it. Go ahead and find other fools

I agree. All AI features should be optional, defaulting to opt-out.

I personally think if an exec can go on record and say "if it was opt-in, no one would do it", maybe whether those policies should be put in place should be reconsidered.

I don't know which is worse: the fact this was opt-in by default or the fact it was rolled out so quietly and most of us only found out via others reporting it on socials. For this to have been on by default should have required a change in TOS which would have required notifying users. So this was a deliberate act to avoid notifying users and attempt to get ppl on-board via ignorance. They hoped most ppl wouldn't notice. It has since been confirmed by Twitch staff that they did it on purpose because they knew no one would opt in by choice. It is utterly disgraceful conduct from a global company and I'd be surprised if this wasn't actually illegal in some territories. Amazon need to remember they aren't just bound by US law but by the laws of all territories it operates in and provides services to. It is theft of our art, our words and our content but they know that most ppl won't jump ship to other services as no one else offers quite the same features as they do and they're so ingrained as "the place to stream" they aren't worried about the few who will leave and they know ppl will begrudgingly stay so they can get away with stunts like this regardless of how they conduct themselves. If we took people's content and tried to pass it off as our own, it'd be a copyright infringement; but for some reason these corporations seem to think that AI scraping is somehow above copyright law. We must draw the line and show these companies that we don't want our data harvested by AI.

It has been a month now, and it's become incredibly clear to all of us by now that Twitch and the parent company Amazon do not care about the input of the userbase.
They will not retract on the use of GenAI scraping and training. They will not avoid using GenAI for graphics across the website. They will continue doing everything they can to create a use-case for GenAI to keep that bubble going.
I have since packed up my Twitch Account and have begun to migration elsewhere. If you're a smaller content creator with a good support group, I recommend looking into alternative websites like Picarto (which has a Gaming section nowadays).
Be the change you want to see, because Twitch and Amazon are not going to do it. Monsters like this do not change unless you starve them.
Consider researching into alternatives as much as you can.
I will not be returning to the platform myself unless extensive changes are made. An ultimatum from someone like me may not be nothing on its own, but if enough people do it, there's a tiny chance something can happen.
It's been fun. But it's time to start over. Again.

I do not support AI or companies that use AI. AI should be optional, not forced upon everyone.
