Just gonna bump this again in light of the recent announcement about partnering with OpenAI. Your users clearly do not want this, please listen to them.

Please, please don't force creators to have AI on their channels or allow any sort of training on streamer content for AI datasets. One of the major selling points of Twitch as a large social platform is that artists and musicians especially can share their work without fear of being automatically scraped. The use of AI in emotes and category images was a big slap in the face to the art community on the platform already. Especially after a history of hiring artists for emotes and creating good will there for a while. Please consider how this will effect trust with your streamers who are ethically opposed to this high energy using, data stealing, water wasting tech.

I am commenting to boost this because a better response to this is needed to regain any faith from the creative communities.
Twitch needs to be better about 1) ensuring no genAI imagery is used in official twitch assets (including category images, emotes, banners, marketing, etc) and 2) continuing to offer that sort of work to your MANY incredible artists who would be more than happy to work with the platform on designs of all sorts.
The hype train emotes being largely created Twitch artists lately has been wonderful. Anything other than continuing that trend is a huge step back and undoes a lot of trust within creative communities already wary of tech companies as only wanting to take advantage of our collective life's work to save a buck.

It is no secret that LLM databases have unethically scraped and stolen any and all images without regard to copyright or consent and that those images are required to make the generated visuals that they spit out. Because of this blatant theft, artists almost universally feel betrayed when these programs are used to manufacture images.
Using AI generated images to represent any category, but especially creative categories, feels like a slap in the face to those of us who have dedicated our lives to art making. Please reconsider this, I am sure MANY of us would leap at the chance to design new category images.
Using AI is a bad look that is not aging well and will continue to age poorly and read as cheap and sloppy. Let's do better.

I have also had this problem a few times on streams that I swear I have followed but when I go back I have to follow again. I have also had chatters that have to refollow even though they are always hanging out in my streams and definitely followed before. Some have had this happen more than once. Please fix this, it is embarrassing when it looks like you have been enjoying a community for a long time but never followed.
If our last Uservoice on the forced opt-in of GenAI was not enough, please hear your users with this. This is extremely tone deaf. We are asking staff to pass our strong distaste for this on to the higher ups.
Creative communities are especially wary of things like this and you will only further alienate those communities from using your platform by going forward with this. For a long time I was able to point artists to Twitch and say "it's the only social media where you're safe from data theft." I am sad to say this is no longer the case.
If you haven't heard, GenAI is broadly unpopular with most people globally, and moves like this will certainly discourage new users from trying the platform and turn people off from continuing to stream or subscribe through Twitch to support streamers. It's a bad move from a PR standpoint and a revenue standpoint. Many in my community and others are expressing a desire to stop giving Twitch money for subs and bits over these decisions.
Conversely, think of how many people all over the internet would FLOCK to Twitch if you were to be staunchly against forcing slop onto your users. Twitch has an opportunity here to basically roll out the welcome mat to many creators all over the internet fleeing most social spaces. People remember when platforms protect them, and it would do so much for brand loyalty.
