[Feature] Featured Clips
Featured Clips help you show up on new and existing Twitch discovery spaces in ways that best represent you and your community. We recently shared our plans (https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2023/07/08/everything-we-announced-at-twitchcon-paris/) to launch the upcoming mobile Discovery Feed. As we work towards building new onsite discovery tools like the Discovery Feed, we want to give you more control over which Clips are shown to viewers on Twitch with Featured Clips.
We're already working on improvements to Featured Clips, including:
- Allowing you to opt-in to automatically featuring Clips created by you or your editors.
- Giving Featured Clips access to Mods and other trusted members of your community.
- Adding the ability to feature Clips from the Clip creation flow, the Clip editor, and on mobile.
- Adding more Featured Clips analytics.
We'd love to hear your feedback and suggestions on how to improve this feature.

I cannot feature clips from the page "clips I've created".

Looking over the How-to information, it says that you can mass "feature" clips, but I see no such option in my clips manager

Another problem with featured clips at the moment is that unfeaturing is extremely unintuitive. The "Feature This Clip" button should be replaced by an "Unfeature This Clip" button after pressing it, instead of just being greyed out. Also, maybe the three dot menu in the featured clips section, which currently only has a "Report Clip" button, should have an "Unfeature Clip" button as well. The only way I could find out how to unfeature a clip was by carefully reading the Featured Clips article.

I'd love to be able to have the clips connect better with Top Clips, instead of completely replacing them. One idea I had would be having them stuck to the top with a small "Featured" text bubble on them, which can let a viewer know that it's a featured clip instead of a top viewed clip, and then as they scroll they end up back on the old Popular Clips shelf, while still allowing streamers to show up specific clips above others

This seems like an interesting feature for discovery!
One thing that bothers me a lot is that the old "Popular Clips" shelf has disappeared. It's cool that streamers will be able to choose clips that represent them well, but constantly keeping up with new clips on the channel, only to have to manually feature the most popular ones, seems to be a lot of work for something that has already existed before: the popular clips shelf. As GreatSphynx says, streamers should have the option to customize the shelves and put popular clips at the top again. Featured clips can then still be used for discovery purposes elsewhere on Twitch, but the streamer needs control over their own channel. -

Please add an option for the streamer to continue to show all top clips by default, as the layout was before. I enjoyed having my top clips of the week at the top of my channel page, as it helped new viewers discover more about my stream.
Many viewers and streamers don't know of this change and just assume there are no clips on the channel or that the clips are now privated. -

A few things
1) There needs to be a way to easily change the order of the featured clips on the channel front page. I get this is for algo discovery, but if its the first thing on our page people see then we should be able to choose the order of the videos. Right now it seems like to change the order you have to remove and re-add videos but it just puts them at the end of the list.2) There needs to be an option to show the former video shelves like prior to this change. It's extremely weird that you would go from a customizable layout where we could pick and order which shelves we wanted to appear, to literally only having one and then hiding every single VOD and Highlight on the videos tab instead of just letting us have it front and center. When people come to my page offline they usually want to see my most recent vods and highlights, not popular clips.
3) please just add a button to the new clip list to add a single clip to featured. if you've already featured a clip and keep it checked, and then check off another clip the button just grays out. Especially if we can't pick the order of our clips on the shelf, this is the only way to put what we want in what order we want and it's tedious to check and uncheck every single clip. also as far as i can tell there is no draggable scrollbar in the new clips list, and my mouse when middle mouse clicking only allows horizontal scrolling not vertical? It takes forever to scroll through a large list of clips with just the mouse wheel....
4) im not totally sure what the point of clip analytics is considering clips are not a form of direct revenue for streamers as far as i know. I don't really know what use that information is other than to show us "more people will watch your featured clips vs unfeatured" which makes sense but yeah, not sure why we need another analytics set when the analytics window itself needs some improvements (like being able to see your analytics sorted by stream, not by date).

id love on exactly how it will work, can we only select clips directly clipped from vods or could we upload and select clips that have been edited? if so how should said clips be formatted, should they be horizontal or vertical?

Adding to the complaints about the featured clips button being on by default. It makes looking at clips more annoying than it has to be.

Allow streamers to rearrange the order of their featured clips manually and/or by other variables (e.g. creation date) rather than sorting automatically by view count.
Also, provide more explicit information about how clips will be selected and shown on the mobile Discovery Feed. A few questions: will clips be shown in their entirety or is there an upper time limit less than the clip maximum of one minute?; will the clip title be displayed?; will chat be displayed?

Add an option for a viewer to show all clips by default. Currently many streamers which I follow seems to not be aware of this feature and clips tab is shown empty by default. Now I need to toogle this switch every time I want to see a clip

Add an option into Channel settings > Featured content for the ability to have multiple shelves so that featured clips and past broadcasts can be viewed at the same time from the homepage, or just display both by default.
Some viewers are unaware about the videos tab and filtering so using the featured clips currently will confuse people about how to view vods, Having an option to show both would benefit viewers and streamers as it allows for discoverability without compromising on easy access to vods.

Why does the "Featured Clips Only"-switch turn on again after clicking each clip when viewing clips of a channel by top 24h/7d/30d?
Which is horrendous for viewers in the desktop UI when they want to watch those clips in succession but have to set this switch to off again after each clip.

Can "all clips" and "featured clips" be totally separate categories? It'd be better to let us choose how we'd like to showcase our clips on our main channel pages! Not all of us want to feel pressured to comb through our clips to pick ones to feature just to make the category visible.
Also, I was messing around with featuring clips and now I can no longer feature any. Whenever I try to I'm given the error "Could not feature this clip" and the "Try again" button doesn't do anything.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't seem to feature clips I've created of my own channel. Is that normal? If I should be able to, please let me know how!

Thank you because in mi opinion is one amazing idea. I want to share other posible idea. The possibility to create folders for the same content or similar. When one person see one later appear another similar … maybe is not a good idea, I don’t know. Thank you all support
