Hey all! Thanks for this thread. We recently deprecated anonymous Cheering after we discovered it was being abused. While we understand some viewers prefer not being recognized for Cheering, we made this change to ensure a safer experience for those who were negatively impacted.
We’ve also heard your concerns on what this means for the future of Bits. This deprecation is not related to any plans to limit Cheering with Bits on Twitch, and is solely focused on providing a safer experience for our community.

After the new Tier 1 price increase, I cancelled subscribing to 2 different channels. It's getting to be too expensive for the value I was getting back. So instead of getting an extra few cents, those 2 streamers now get even less money.
Edit: After watching the pricing update livestream, I decided to cancel all my tier 1 subs. I'll just rotate with Prime now.
If Twitch wanted to increase revenue, they did it in the worst possible way.

Adding to the complaints about the featured clips button being on by default. It makes looking at clips more annoying than it has to be.

Twitch you guys know you can make things *publicly* anonymous, right? You can still log the gifter and make them reportable for abuse if abuse happens. If I hypothetically wanted to gift 50k bits to a streamer but didn't want their entire chat bothering me afterwards, I don't really have many options.
Safety goes both ways.
