Even if tvOS 17 broke it, it’s up to the app developer to fix their app. Looks like we just got lucky that the changes in tvOS 18 resolved it since twitch didn’t seem to have any intentions to fix it themselves.

We absolutely do not owe Twitch an apology, they could have fixed it, since no other streaming video app has the issue, and they never even acknowledged there was an issue.

I upgraded today and the issue seems to be resolved. I've only had time to watch about 20 minutes but the problem didn't happen and normally it would.

This has started happening on live streams in the past week or so. Apple TV 4k on tvOS 17.5.1.

I found that many of the streamers I watch stream simultaneously to YT and also save VODs there as well. So I watch both now on YT. I guess Twitch rather lose viewers.

Same here still not fixed on vod keeps going black randomly… twitch indie company that is just looking for money… ridiculous

It's the number 2 idea under all idea's and has been for a while. They are not fixing it on purpose.
