Twitch, there are many other reasons for needing to be able to make a highlight from a VOD that is unpublished. The biggest reason is for reasons of safety and privacy. For streamers, there is nothing worse than having something happen on the stream that causes something that you don't want shown on the stream. Whether you're in studio or out IRL the moment that happens, there is a panic to get the VOD unpublished so that these moments are not shown to viewers of the VOD. But doing so comes at great cost of people not being able to see a great VOD of other content. As an editor and a streamer, trying to savage a stream with a highlight is the best solution. But it's also very nerve-wracking that currently in order to do that, I have to quickly re-publish the VOD for a moment in order to get the highlight button available to do so, and then just as quickly un-publish it again to prevent others from being able to watch the VOD we don't want shown to the public.
**Please allow both streamers and editors to be able to click the highlight button for VODs that have been unplublished. There is no reason that this shouldn't be possible.**

You should have made a 1 click button what to allow everyone to download all of their highlights. Also one to be able to upload all of them to something like YouTube. Or to pay to have them downloaded onto an external drive. Just something. Also downloading the chat archives from the VOD is so important for us too.
One person that I'm going to be sad to see all theirs disappear is @Hitch. He's been here forever and has so so many hours of content. Days and Days of it. Your deleting of them down to 100 hours is like erasing part of history.

this would be important for IRL streamers that have their streaming device stolen.

My suggestion is that there is no need for this. Just use a browser that supports multiple browser window profiles. This feature is now available in Safari and you can use the Containers extension in Firefox and I'm sure that there is something for Chrome and other browsers. Account switching would only allow you to see one account at a time, whereas using the aforementioned you can be in all at once.

this is just common sense and really doesn't have any reason why a user can't wait a bit more to get into Twitch by verifying their address.

We’re reviewing this. Curious how long you think would be ok.

I'm against this. Sometimes users change their usernames temporarily for specific purposes. I would hate to see the likes of domain squatting coming to Twitch usernames.

It would be good if each Twitch account had a legacy plan. what to do if a streamer passes away. It should be the choice of the streamer of what to do with their content. If they choose to have their account completely deleted, that should be their choice; but if they choose to leave a legacy, it would be great for streamers to also decide what of their account remains, like the clips, or the highlights. Former subscribers might be able to continue to use their follower emotes in other channels.
The streamer should also be able to designate another Twitch user(s) as caretaker for the account that may be able to follow additional instructions left by the streamer, such as being able to remove clips or highlights that they don't want to outlive them; and also to be able to direct any grieving viewers and friends to places where they can share their memories.
I totally support this idea, but it would be great if the streamer had control of this while they are alive as so that Twitch knows exactly how to honour their wishes.

I have a big issue with point #3 and doesn't work well now into our workflow.
When I create clips for channels where I'm an Editor, I'm usually actively watching the livestream and hit the clip button and go back to watch the stream. When I have time when there's some downtime in the stream or after the stream is over, I would go back to the clip tab and properly create the clip. Being precise with the in/out marks and also coming up with titles that work well. For clips on music streamers, I often liked taking the time to craft a clip exactly so that if it loops the music is seamless. I now no longer have time to do this. The quality of my clips has plummeted or worse yet, no clips at all.
For streams that are sometimes 8 hours long or more, the time in which I need to come back to these clips can be long.
The way it stands now is that we've lost many many good clips because the tab has somehow "timed out" and we can no longer "finish" the clip.
Also having the markers in the VOD highlight of the clips that people didn't follow through with was extremely helpful in being able to go their ourselves and remake the clips at those points of interest.
Now when we go to the highlighting timeline all those useful points where people clipped the gold mine of where to zero in on a VOD are now gone. This is extremely disappointing to see this implemented without more testing.
So no, I disagree that this is actually a good thing because now we no longer have these indicators in our timeline. It doesn't give the users enough time to finish these clips that happen in an active stream. You are now requiring a clipper to stop, watching the stream and perhaps miss an even better clipping moment because they are now forced to finish the clip immediately. When you are watching and clipping from multiple streams at the same time, this requirement makes things even more difficult.
So I would like to elect that you give clippers more time to finish clips. Allow the clipper to have the clip in an editing stage that they can go and create the quality clips they want to. Also return the ability to see all the attempted clips in the VOD timeline so that we know where to create our own clips for ones that didn't get created or highlights for longer moments.

I want this feature so so so much. for someone that clips a lot, there are often times that you don't have time to finish the clip and want to come back later after the stream to rename it because you want to get back to the stream as soon as possible.
What would be good is that clips can be held in some sort of editing stage so that a user can come back later and finish setting the in/out points of the clip and title it. I've lost so many good clips because I wasn't able to come back to the clip in time to name it and publish it. I've had tabs open and try to fix it, later, but I usually have to do it within the next few hours before I'm hooped.

Another user mentioned that creating a highlight of the VOD with the sections you don't want in edited out.
This is all good and dandy, but the two biggest issues is that a Highlight is not seen to users coming to channels as being the previous stream VOD to watch. As a result the viewership of a highlight is immensely smaller than that which an actual VOD gets. If we can have a way to point users to a particular Highlight to stand in for the last stream, this would solve a big problem.
There are even more important reasons beside DMCA where this is needed. When issues of privacy and safety are inadvertently shown during a stream. The result is a mad panic to get the VOD taken down so that users don't see this unwanted content.
A highlight can get made, editing out these portions, but the scary part is to be able to even make the highlight, the VOD needs to be temporarily republished so that the Streamer or Editor can even click the Highlight button, and then just as quickly re-unpublished to prevent others from seeing the VOD.
Once the Highlight is made, it's almost never worth the effort because subscribers never seem to see the VOD's Highlight as it's not recommended or autoplayed when a user visits the channel page. Maybe 10% or even less actually see the edited version.
