Epilepsy I was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and I've been super nervous about what can trigger seizures. Some ads flash a lot of lights. The Post Malone one is what made me contact. I already have to be careful what streams to click on but it doesn't matter if the ads don't care. Maybe an epilepsy option could be added that filter out those ads and even give warnings on games with flashing or bright lights. Thanks.

I’ll leave this post open for the underlying request.

Ads during VODs restarts the entire VOD instead of resuming playback Currently ads played during VODs seems to break the playback position, and instead resets the VOD to the start instead of continuing where the advertisements interrupted.
This is a common issue on mobile, and has been for a while.
Fixing this would go a long way to help making ads less antagonizing, as this is furthering the stigma that ads are making Twitch worse to view.17 votes -
Fix ads bugging out stream audio. I've seen multiple people talking about this on reddit and twitter, there seems to be a fair few people who are experiencing distorted audio after an ad plays. Seems to mostly be firefox users.

Make the Mid rolls silent and use the smaller picture for them. Pretty much as it says in the title. Interrupting live content is the most patently stupid way of going about this. I suggest the following:
1. Make the forced mid rolls use the smaller picture-by-picture player and make them silent so the stream doesn't need to be muted.
2. Use banner ads instead.
3. Pause the live stream in the background while the ad plays so that viewers don't miss anything.
4. Abandon the idea altogether.
5. Give creators full control of when they play and what ads get played.17 votes -
Disable mid-roll ads IF the streamer rolls an ad-break themselves Right now theres not enough control over how a streamer runs an their stream with the new mid-rolling. However, a feature that can be added is to disable for 20 - 30 minutes mid-rolls for the stream per 30 second ad break and mid and pre-roll per 60 second. That way, a streamer can plan their ad breaks and work around them, especially for competitive games like overwatch, LOL, CSGO, etc. Even for non-competitive games, allowing a streamer the ability to control the flow of the stream by implementing an ad break to avoid mid rolls allows them to build…

Allow 10-20 seconds of the channel feed before playing a commercial! I don't mind watching commercials to support channels, but I bet you a vast majority of people use Adblock because they dont want to deal with a 40 second commercial just to find out the person isn't playing the game their channel said it was, or that their voice is annoyingly loud, or that they are terrible at the game. I use adblock on my computers and would take it off in a heartbeat if this was fixed...

Disable Prerolls while a Hypetrain is active Preroll-disable functionality already exists, just have hypetrains add 5 minutes to that when they start, if the counter is at zero. Add more time if level-ups extend the hypetrain duration.
If a hypetrain is going, something hype is happening, right? Who wants to come into a channel during a HYPE moment, only to get slapped in the face with a preroll instead of joining in with everyone immediately?
The preroll revenue loss would be minimal, would encourage hypetrains (so a potential positive ROI), and be a win for everyone involved; adds functionality to the hypetrain product, and shows that Twitch…

Ad-free experience for all viewers I would like to see a subscription to make a channel ad-free for all viewers, not just people with accounts, subscribers, followers or anything, I know turbo exists, but that's only for the person broadcasting that goes and watches someone else's channel. What about the opposite, what if a broadcaster wants the viewers to have an ad-free experience?

Show total ad time left instead of or in addition to the number of ads left. When a streamer runs a block of ads, we select the amount of time we want the ads to run for, and that can be anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. However when we do that, all the viewer sees is the number of ads left, not the total time left. Since ads vary in length, that doesn't actually tell them how long until they're over.
Speaking for myself, it's pretty much a daily occurance to have someone post a message like "8 ads??" in my chat. And sometimes that number can be in the double digits. If viewers…

Receiving ads when I shouldn't be Recently I've been occasionally experiencing ads for a channel (specifically xQcOW) and I've been subbed while he has ads for subscribers disabled. I access his channel primarily from my Chrome web browser. Usually they are ads from what seems like a different country, specifically from what seemed like European countries in European languages. I do not use a VPN and I also do not have an ad block program enabled on his webpage. Usually refreshing the page removes them but it is frustrating to experience nonetheless.

30 seconds of pre-roll ads is too long for live content Pre-roll ads don’t belong on live content to begin with, but they should never be as long as typical commercials/ads. Imagine clicking on a stream that you’re excited about watching in that very moment (because you saw something interesting in the thumbnail or someone tweeted about something happening on that stream) and then after the website loaded and the video player loaded, waiting another 30+ seconds for the live stream to load. That’s the current experience with pre-roll ads. It breaks the in the moment or “you had to be there” experience of live content.
A 5 second pre-roll ad…15 votes -
Ad on the top of chat Maybe you can show the ad but give the stream at the top of the chat like webcam in watch party.

Reasonably scale mid-roll time/number required to disable pre-roll ads to the size of the channel. The size of a channel matters when you are looking to make ad revenue. Larger audiences are likely to have a larger number of potential ad viewers. Obviously, the sub/non-sub viewer ratio is important, but larger channels are likely to have a higher potential for ad revenue than smaller channels.
Scaling the time needed to disable pre-roll ads will encourage smaller channels to run ads. When pre-roll ads are disabled, there is a higher chance a new viewer will enter the channel potentially helping to grow that channel.
To "tag" along with the idea, add a tag under a preview…

Custom image with Stream Display Ads Where the black space is on Stream Display Ads, let broadcasters upload their own custom images depending on if the content is live, vod, or a rerun.
Would help with channel branding, call to actions, and clear identity of content.

They say capitalism is innovative.... This is awful. I want to receive bits that I can use for whoever I want. I don't want to watch an ad with a moshpit of people I don't know for only ONE streamer. As an individual consumer, I am allowed to watch multiple people, and should be allowed to award multiple people with bits. Why fix something when it isn't broken?

Disable Ads? I wish there was a option for affiliates and Partners alike to turn off preroll ads, a lot of us especially the smaller streamers hate that this is a thing and having a option to turn it off would make a lot of our streams a lot better. The reason why I say a toggle feature is because some streamers have a living from this so its not fair for them not to have it but the smaller streamers we dont like it and it drives away a lot from us
Thank you for reading this and taking this into…

Freezing adds prevent me from watching streams Not sure if I'm the only one who has this problem. I can't watch any stream that has adds enabled because the add freezes after 5 seconds and the timer doesn't update/go down. I restarted my pc but the problem remains (Using twitch for many years but never had this problem).

Ads without music wont be as disturbing. Ads without music won't be as disturbing. Also, ads which sounds like TTS give minor disturbance and attribute the stream with a level of engagement.

Running midrolls makes me lose 75% of my viewers Running midrolls every 30 minutes to prevent pre-rolls is insane. A single midroll as a streamer with 50-100 viewers will lose me half of my viewers per adrun.
This is not something I'll EVER do. The running of midroll ads simply is not something that's viable in any way ever for small streamers..
Give me an option to run a non-intrusive ad that does NOT interrupt live content and sure, I'll run it to prevent pre-rolls. But cutting the entire stream? Never ever
