1. Expired Security Certificate embedded in streams

   Viewing live streams prompts an AntiVirus Warning that an embedded Security Certificate is currently expired. Warning reads: "attempted to establish a connection relying on an expired certificate to global.poe.live-video.net. We blocked the connection to keep your data safe since websites must renew their certificates with a certification authority to stay current, and outdated security certificates represent a risk."

2. Fix error 2000 regarding Anti-tracking software blocking

   Error 2000 in my experience has been due to the Anti-tracking software I use. This makes the stream crash and quit playing. You need to refresh to get the stream going again. Usually this will cause an ad to play as soon as it is refreshed but not always in my experience. Anti-tracking software does not prevent other streaming websites to run smoothly for me, only Twitch. On my latest Twitch watching stint, my Anti-tracking software shows 13 advertising trackers blocked, 3 site analytics trackers blocked, and 0 essential trackers blocked. My Anti-tracking software states that essential trackers are critical for website functionality. Twitch's website is not functioning correctly though my Anti-tracking software blocked ZERO essential trackers. This makes no sense. The error is not on my part, it is the fault of Twitch and needs to be fixed on their end. I could turn off tracking protection but I have it and use it for a reason, and I am keeping it on. The tracking protection I use does not cause any other website streaming to stop working correctly. This issue has been ongoing for years. Fix your streaming errors regarding Anti-tracking software.

3. Spain: Improve servers for big events

   Improve servers over big streamings events.

   This is just logical, but it is quite frustrating that the platform literally looks the other way. I'm talking here about Spain particularily. Whenever some of the biggest streamers make a special streaming, or an event, the rest of the platform falls. And I mean all of it. The rest of streamers won't even have enough bandwidth to stream themselves, which honestly is insulting given how much benefits the platform registers over time. Fortify your servers or die trying, because this happens now more than ever, the rate is increasing and you are disabling hundreds and thousands of streamers for the big fish in the plate that night.

4. Show the CDN the broadcaster is streaming to and the CDN you are pulling from in "Advanced -> Video Stats"

   So, on desktop, when you click cogwheel -> "Advanced" -> "Video stats" - you will see advanced stats, such as the estimated latency, the number of skipped frames, the FPS, and so on.

   Would be good to see the server the broadcaster is uploading to, and the server you are downloading from - would greatly help with reporting and/or solving connection issues. And since it'd be under "Advanced", the average user wouldn't see that, so it wouldn't generate a lot of complaints.

5. Change content provider for Hungary

   As I got informed by my ISP you changed provider locally for content distribution some weeks ago. Since that all the streams are laggy, buffering, stopping etc.. Using VPN would solve the issue but that shouldn't be a must have to watch streams.

6. Improve Garbage Collection of Webapp

   I've noticed that Twitch seems to have a major garbage collection problem. I use Firefox (97.0.1 currently).

   Granted, I currently have 5 streams open with 4 of them tiled on my TV, however, the memory usage can be seen in excess of 10 GB.

   When I do manual garbage collection via about:memory?verbose, it can drop back down to about 2-3 GB total usage on the main process with 5 streams open.

   This sort of memory bloat only happens when I use Twitch. Firefox reports that the memory is under control (less than 1 GB total) in about:performance, but it seems to only happen when Twitch is open.

   Edit: To add to this, since I think it's related:

   I am currently watching ironmouse for example. For some reason the entire UI seems to choke, as well as the video will stutter. It is completely random. It seems to happen on her stream most often and not really anyone else's that much.

7. Aspect ratio settings update and support

   As much as every other platform not just Twitch the lack of information for those who stream at other aspect ratios rather than 16:9 is lacking to non-existing.

   It would be nice to have more support for those content creators who do not follow the standard.

   The best example would be in my case is when streaming at 1080p my stream width is 2560 and not 1920.
   This effect the stream in ways that sometimes it shows and sometimes it's just a black screen (Reported by viewers)

   Better support for other aspect ratios rather than 16:9
   Better docs to support a variety of aspect ratios (At least the most common ones 4:3 | 16:9 | 21:9 | 32:9) Which will include the required bit rate and stream settings. For example, for the best setting for ultrawide 21:9, I found that 2560x1080 resolution is problematic altho better performance can be found when streaming at 2292x960.

   Twitch step up :)

8. Make vertical scrollbars extend to the edge of the window

   The vertical scrollbars on most pages don't extend to the edge of the window (Browser dev tools indicate a 2 pixel gap between scollbar and the edge). Which means that when the window is maximized, you can't just jam the cursor to the right of the screen and click to grab the scrollbar. You have to make effort to very carefully move the cursor into the extremely tiny 6 pixel wide scrollbar and then grab it.

9. I have found a solution to lagging that occurs for many twitch streamers

   I have found a concrete solution to the lag that causes many streamers the issue of the stream lagging when a stream is occurring and have written a small solution paper to address the solution.

   Twitch Stream Lagging Solution

   If you a gamer many people are engaged in streaming on one of the platforms
   for gaming such as twitch. The focus of this article is to hopefully provide an

   insight into an issue which many people find after they’ve been streaming for
   a bit. Consider this, you finally got your status as paid in twitch and you’re

   starting to get money in your account and than it starts to happen. Your

   stream begins to lag every time that your on it.

    You become really concerned, begin to do all your research on it.  What 
   

   really bites is that your dad perhaps or even you just got that new pc installed

   and your thinking to yourself, how could this be? So you begin to make all

   normal troubleshooting moves with twitch. Your using Streamlabs Obs, most
   likely, or twitch studio, you check all the settings for streaming, changing the

   recommended settings you find on every article on streaming and lagging

   that you find on the internet.

    Here is the issue, the solution lies in the connectivity, windows 10 has 
   

   different upgrades since windows 7 & windows 8. One of those upgrades is

   Windows has built into it a set of algorithms that automatically choose

   which connection is best for your use on the network. For example, if your

   used to using ethernet cable, you might be surprised to find out when your

   gaming and you begin to lag. To cut to the chase, I was researching this for

   my son’s issue and here is where the rabbit hole took me.

   On my home system which is with Cox network 1 gb connection because

   we’re both into gaming and streaming, I checked the router logs and found

   that the IPv6 which is the wi-fi was getting wan-attacks on the firewall logs.

   Wan stands for “wide area network”, and the numbers were significant, at

   least between 1500-7058, on a daily basis. When there was “black ice” on

   windows side, and also Linux ubuntu, there was a few programs that would

   identify the ip address from where the attack originated. I found out that a

   a lot of them originated from China and the orient.

   I m going to weave this to relevance now, what has been happening is that

   windows will switch your connection from the ethernet to the wif-fi network

   connection and so what happens is that your busy streaming and it begins to

   lag, and you want to quit. It can be quite , maddening and to say the least

   frustrating, because you thought that you had a solid connection, at least

   thats what your paying for right ?

    So we go back to the windows command shell, cmd at the search field in 
   

   windows and type the command “ipconfig” and it shows that our ethernet is

   disconnected, but the wifi does show a connection. Heres the thing, your

   connections to your network shifted to the wifi instead of the ethernet

   connection you have directly via ethernet cable to the router. You can thanks

   windows metric algorithms for changing your connection automatically.

      The reason for the lag is that most folks in the US are being attacked on 
   

   wifi networks on a daily basis at some point in the day you can look at the

   router logs and see the attacks on the network. Yes the firewall will block

   them however, it will still have the effects of causing lags when your playing

   your favorite games, and Streaming to your favorite platform, like Twitch.

    The solution to this dilemma is to in the windows 10 search field on the 
   

   task bar, type in wifi. It will take you to the settings tab when you click on it

   where you can simply turn off the wifi connection manually and it will stay

   off, so that you can just use your static internet connection you created in

   your network adapter, instead of your wifi connection. So at this point ,

   your lagging issue will go bye bye, happiness will return as well as the

   money for streaming and all will be well.

    The attacks will probably continue as Korea and China are still training 
   

   their army of hackers , so the rule of thumb here is to sidestep your troubles

   and stick to using your ethernet cable connection to your router, and use a

   static IP address for your gaming connection or for that fact any other type of

   work I as a business that connects to the internet .

    Else-wise, one will find themselves vulnerable to the continuing attacks.
   

   On a side note, if the wifi doesn’t show up in windows 10 you have to go

   through a few additional steps, such as opening device manager, finding the

   wifi driver listed, right click and choose, update driver, and choose search on

   your machine. Once that is done choose the driver it finds on your machine

   most likely it will show intel and also Microsoft. I choose Microsoft,

   because the driver on wifi was showing intel, and the wifi on my son’s pc

   was not showing up in the network connections. After this then , hit

   “scan hardware for changes” on the little icon in the menu area ..After this

   open the task manager up and highlight windows explorer and restart it.

    After doing this you will notice in the taskbar that the wifi does now in
   

   fact show up and you can manually click on it to turn it off so that your

   connection to the internet will be thru your ethernet cable to your router.

    I wrote this because my son asked me to write him a text so he could 
   

   check it before he starts his computer for gaming , lol. I hope this has been

   helpful and of course check your streaming settings if you’re feeling that

   could be the cause, and by all means check to see which connection your

   gaming is actually using !

10. Egypt Can't stream Directly to Twitch EU servers

    There are routing problems between Egypt and Twitch EU servers that cause frame drops (A lot ) during live streams, by using restreaming platforms FPS drops is solved, however, I lose the perks I get from streaming directly to twitch such as (VODS audio track in OBS Chat extensions) and many others.

    We would like Twitch to keep taking care of the MENA region.

11. Twtich Server Upgrade, Pay Money for more Bitrate / Upload ???

    Twtich server upgrade so also more bitrate upload and users pay a small pocket money for this :)

    You know it from server hosters "You want more upload or more storage, then rent at Twitch-Turbo the server package" For +5,90$ or 9,90$ you can upload and stream up to 13K/ 15K.
    So Twitch would have less problems with the costs and who does not want to pay such a server upgrade remains with Free and 6-8K upload depending on Twitch contract.

    Possible would be this Year, because it's time for an Upgrade at Twitch :)
    YT has long been at Good (Hype) Quality and Twitchazon ;) would be well positioned with Amazon AWS Servers and their Data Centers.

12. (Bug Report) Specific VoD with error #3000 example at a timestamp and fix

    This is more of a bug report rather than any sort of suggestion, but this seems like the most applicable place to post it.

    I was running into error #3000 frequently when watching a particular VOD, and eventually realized that the errors were not occurring randomly, but at specific time stamps in the video. One solution was to disable my chrome browser's hardware acceleration, but that resulted in heavy tearing on the video no matter what my vsync and other related settings were set to. Eventually, I found the solution in the form of using chrome://flags to explicitly either

    1) Disable Hardware acceleration on video Decode (no tearing, but slightly reduced performance) or
    2) Chose ANGLE graphics backend - set to openGL (no tearing, no performance lost, optimal solution)

    Based on this solution, I can safely say that the following VOD, on my set up with an NVIDIA RTX 2070 GPU on Win10, will always encounter an error #3000 at this timestamp: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1187291672?t=3h55m42s when using D3D11. There are various other spots that cause it too, that's just the one I caught when I realized it was at a specific time in playback.

    Hopefully you'll be able to reproduce the issue using that information, and maybe figure out /why/ it's happening to find a fix, if it's not something just specific to my environment.

    Ich wurde hierher verwiesen vom Twitch Support...
    Es geht darum, dass es eine Vielzahl von Vodafone DE Kunden gibt, die mit Twitch extreme Probleme haben: Schwankende Bitrate, kaum Bitrate... Ich bin ebenso betroffen. Ich hab 40 Mbit/s im Upload und kann original nicht streamen weil die Bitrate extrem schwankt. Da es früher mit VPNs gut funktioniert hat und immer noch mit "restream.io" teilweise funktioniert, ist offenbar die Peering-Schnittstelle mit Vodafone DE (AS3209) überlastet. Dadurch kommt auch, dass Streams immer wieder buffern müssen.

    Ich wäre Ihnen sehr verbunden, wenn Sie endlich was gegen die Probleme mit Vodafone DE machen würden. Vodafone DE weist jede Schuld von sich.

14. Multi quality for people with poor connection/data saving for mobile or pc

    For people with bad internet, I would like these users to be able to see the affiliate streams at a lower resolution or at least 30 fps, that way apart from helping people with bad connection it also helps the streamer to be known without that quality barrier.

15. Add indonesia Video Injest Server

    so ive been streaming from my home wifi and its not pretty good even if i conenct to singapore or australia and since they get their own server why not indonesia doesnt get a chance to get one to? it will 100% helps indonesian streamer with bad wifi like me and others

16. Limit the default quality to 720p and 30 fps. 1080p and 60 fps is excessive and wastes bandwidth.

    A stream does not require 60FPS playback. Ever. It's a complete waste of bandwidth and should not even be an option. For people like me that have slower internet it makes it impossible to watch a lot of streamers. Many streamers don't even realize that they're streaming at 60 FPS and how it literally DOUBLES the bandwidth requirements but does not give any benefit to the quality of the stream. I wish Twitch would make the default 720p 30 FPS and allow some users to increase to 1080p 30FPS once they reach partner or something. Not only would this decrease the bandwidth Twitch requires for their servers (saving you a BUTTLOAD OF MONEY and allow you to offer transcoding to more users) it would generally make the experience better for all people with slower internet worlwide! I really hope someone considers this seriously because the savings are there and it wouldn't take much to make this happen and it's a win win for everyone!

17. Ingest Switching

    Add a streamer configurable delay from when stream is ended in software until stream ends on the website. It is already possible in some way as disconnection protection exsits but it would allow streamers to change ingest servers while they're live if one is currently experiencing issues.

    Essentially just expand disconnection protection to all scenarios. If Twitch detects no feed, give us time to come back even if it is a delieberate disconnection. You can currently get lucky and see the NotLikeThis error screen when you disconnect normally and switch ingests but I'd like to see it be controlled.

18. Internet rural

    Vivo en una zona rural y las compañías restringen mi acceso a plataformas como la suya en las que soy usuario, mediante la limitación de datos por consumos que ellos consideran indebidos. Comprar juegos, ver series en Amazon prime, consumir Twitch, es para las compañías de mi país un uso indebido de la red. Sería importante su apoyo en nuestra relación con las operadoras, que entiendan la realidad del consumo de datos de un usuario medio que consume todos estos datos legalmente y muchas veces pagando por es contenido.

19. Add more Ingest servers to South America.

    The only servers at the moment in SA are located in Brazil. Even though we are in the same continent, that doesn't means that the connection would be great for those who use the servers. I'm from Chile and even though I have 600m/s upload connection I'm losing frames constantly. Adding a server for those who live to the South part(Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru) could have at least one server in any of those countries and the North part can use the server at Brazil or add another server even more to the North.

20. Allowing affiliates to "buy" transcoding ability.

    Since I only stream for 4 hours a week, I'll never see Partner in my future. However as an affiliate, we are not always guaranteed a transcodeable stream. I know I have viewers that can not even handle the 720P stream I'm pushing, but I don't want to bump my overall stream setting down for 2-3 viewers, leaving the other 100 with a lesser experience. Since I'm not in this for monetizing, I would welcome the ability to "purchase" the ability to transcode my streams with guaranteed ability like Partners have.
