  1. AV1 encoding support should be a priority add to the website. AV1 encoding is a big improvement in visual quality to streams over CPU and GPU encoding options. Discord already added it, and I believe YouTube has it as well, it's very surprising to me that Twitch hasn't added this and there isn't even an ETA on it being added yet.

  2. At 11:00 (KST), I received a notification email that limit the video quality to 720p in Korea due to the network fee burden. Twitch should have informed Korean users at least a few weeks ago and had to come up with other alternatives. This is considered sufficiently discriminatory compared to global users. Please postpone these restrictions and come up with alternatives.

  3. While watching a stream if I leave a stream up for an extended amount of time I will sometimes come back to the video player ui having been frozen and unresponsive. I will hover over and click the player buttons without a response, additionally the hotkeys for the different player actions will also not work, spacebar for pausing and m for mute. I couldn't find anyone elses account on this issue.

Sidenote - This is for live broadcasts in particular

  5. I want to save some traffic, when watching streams on a background, but stream unexpectedly change the resolution from 160p to 1080p60 on regular and low latency modes. It looks like a bug because when I open the tab again it changes the resolution back to 160p.

  6. I am a Korean Twitch user.

Not long ago, the maximum video quality for watching Twitch in Korea was fixed at 720p.

I heard that the reason was that the cost of using the network in Korea was a burden to the operation.

In addition, I understand that Korea's new network fee bill has made it even more burdensome.

Koreans fully understand this and are opposed to Korea's additional network usage fee bill.

As a result, there is a prevailing expectation that this bill will be difficult to pass due to opposition from the National Assembly even in Korea.

    Anyway,…

  7. you're teaching people how to do twitch but you're not teaching them how to act write perform or what the quality of a unique niche is or what the difference of value between videos is or a history breakdown of styles and where we are now and where entertainment is going. art theory music theory entertainment theory and acting theory and what appeals to certain people as well as what is a genre and why it means something to the people it does and the basic understanding of finding what it is they really want to make. basically understanding the…

  8. On macOS Ventura/Sonoma (May affect earlier versions and is on Apple Silicon) using the latest stable build of Safari, after watching a Twitch stream for so long, it either pauses or brings up the error refresh button or I am forced to refresh the page as a whole.

This has persisted over several formats of the entire system and seems to randomly happen with no consistency, it can happen every 5 minutes or even 60 seconds-ish or sometimes not happen at all although rare.

I have tested this with and without extensions as well as enabling all Preview features in…

  11. Steps to reproduce:

Open any stream in theater mode.
Go to any button with an upward tooltip
    Hover over the above tooltip

    Actual result:
The UI parts of the screen stutter, see the attached video.

  12. I really hate how I can no longer use Twitch. Ever since I moved, my internet has been too bad and the streamers I am interested in watching and supporting are not partnered. For some reason, despite the fact that competitors have found a way not to do this, Twitch feels the need to force me to stream in 1080p, a quality that I cannot watch. I can't stream anything anywhere in that quality and Twitch has no option for me to change it because it's locked behind the partner program or something like that. It's just such a weird…

  13. I am watching https://www.twitch.tv/quin69 and randomly the video changed to another streamer https://www.twitch.tv/irunshibb twice while staying on the quin69 URL. To fix I need to refresh the page. I am not following irunshibb and I did not click on anything. This happened to me on 03/19/24 from 9am-12pm EST. It has not happened again since. I am using Chrome Version 122.0.6261.112.

  14. We understand that broadcasting at higher bit rates costs Twitch more money, so why not enable it as a paid feature, such as for Twitch turbo subscribers?

  18. I used to stream from an affiliate account before and used to get all the resolution change options for my streams. Now I am using a new twitch account to stream, while I am using same streaming options on OBS as before, my viewers don't get the resolution change on current streams. It's always 1080p and it's driving viewers away due to lag issues.

  20. 1080p in 2023 is a tad dated given the advancement in panel resolution standards and accessibility, coupled with the widespread availability high bandwidth internet connectivity - An option to stream at 1440p 60fps would be great. It'll be playable and crisp on a 4k display without looking too grainy, and streams will be most crisp for all using 1440p displays (I don't have any 1080p displays and my viewing experience is unimpressive as this doesn't upscale as well). Details and clarity are important when viewing competitive esports content.
