  1. Like 2 years ago we used to have servers in Chile and Argentina and those used to work amazing, no frame drops, no buffering for my viewers, better streaming quality.
Now I have been trying to stream for 2 years with the Brazil server, but the quality has decreased way too much, that it always drops a big amount of frames, and in many days it buffers for my viewers. Making it uncomfortable to watch and reducing the amount of viewers.

  2. Improve servers over big streamings events.

This is just logical, but it is quite frustrating that the platform literally looks the other way. I'm talking here about Spain particularily. Whenever some of the biggest streamers make a special streaming, or an event, the rest of the platform falls. And I mean all of it. The rest of streamers won't even have enough bandwidth to stream themselves, which honestly is insulting given how much benefits the platform registers over time. Fortify your servers or die trying, because this happens now more than ever, the rate is increasing and you are disabling…

  3. Bitrate is a funny little thing. When a stream pushes the limit of the bitrate selected in OBS/Xplit (due to high resolution/framerate/visual effects), artifacting occurs, and the stream will appear distorted (pixelated? mosaic-y?).

On Twitch, the current maximum upload bitrate is stated to be 6000 kbps, with a hard cut-off a bit above that number. From what I understand, this is to keep server costs at a reasonable level, and to maintain a smooth viewing experience on channels without transcoding.

That said, YouTube, a platform mainly focused on hosting pre-recorded and edited content, encourages streamers to stream to their website…

  4. In you have the a streamers page open.

    And the streamer goes live

    The stream does not autostart

    This is related to https://github.com/twitchdev/issues/issues/235

  5. There's frankly no excuse for Twitch to not provide transcodes readily for all streams in the Year of Our Lord 2022. This is arguably the world's biggest streaming site; they obviously have the resources, yet they refuse to use them. It doesn't help that buffering issues on the site have been record-breakingly bad over the past two weeks or so. Transcodes would at the very least alleviate them in that watching a stream at a lower quality (such as 360p) has a chance to make the watching experience much less of a bufferfest.

  6. As the streaming industry embraces new technology, alongside increased internet speed standards, I would love for Twitch to adopt full transcoding for all active streamers as well as an increase in the bitrate cap to 10k.

The current issue with the 6k bitrate cap for non-partners is inherently-lowered viewer experience. Viewers are consistently looking for superior quality streams as the first impression of long-term engagement and retention, which the current 6k bitrate cap severely inhibits due to automatic pixelation for high-movement games such as FPS. Since partners have the automatic 8-8.5k bitrate cap increase, this gives partnered content creators an…

  7. https://www.twitch.tv/zfg1 frequently has an error where everyone watching on desktop/web has to manually refresh the stream. He says he is running the latest version of OBS, and his chat says this happens to his stream more frequently than others (about once per 20/30 minutes).

  9. I've noticed that Twitch seems to have a major garbage collection problem. I use Firefox (97.0.1 currently).

Granted, I currently have 5 streams open with 4 of them tiled on my TV, however, the memory usage can be seen in excess of 10 GB.

When I do manual garbage collection via about:memory?verbose, it can drop back down to about 2-3 GB total usage on the main process with 5 streams open.

This sort of memory bloat only happens when I use Twitch. Firefox reports that the memory is under control (less than 1 GB total) in about:performance, but…

  10. I have a chrome extension installed that allows me to change the speed of any video I watch. Due to this, I can always see the speed of videos in the top left corner. I've noticed that any time a stream I'm watching lags or I fall too far behind live, Twitch will automatically change the speed of the stream from 1x to 1.03x speed. I believe this is a good idea and the change in speed is small enough to not affect the video. However, this speed change DOES affect the audio and in the case of music streams,…

  12. It's extremely annoying to have videos and streams that haven't been specifically selected to just start playing when accessing the site home page or visiting a channel.
Add an EASY TO LOCATE toggle so these auto play options are PERMANENTY disabled.

I come here to watch what I CHOOSE to watch, and NOT what ever garbage you want to pollute my eyes and ears with.

  13. Santiago and Buenos Aires servers are with low performance. not able to reach 6000kbps. Tested with several ISP and none hits 6k and red light are on while streamin. This came like a week ago. Before that everything worked fine, i think you're limiting speed. The are working worst than brazilian servers that are miles and miles away, While Santiago server is like 80 miles away works awful

  14. I have found a concrete solution to the lag that causes many streamers the issue of the stream lagging when a stream is occurring and have written a small solution paper to address the solution.

    Twitch Stream Lagging Solution

If you a gamer many people are engaged in streaming on one of the platforms
for gaming such as twitch. The focus of this article is to hopefully provide an

insight into an issue which many people find after they’ve been streaming for
a bit. Consider this, you finally got your status as paid in twitch and you’re

    starting to get…

  15. Viewing live streams prompts an AntiVirus Warning that an embedded Security Certificate is currently expired. Warning reads: "attempted to establish a connection relying on an expired certificate to global.poe.live-video.net. We blocked the connection to keep your data safe since websites must renew their certificates with a certification authority to stay current, and outdated security certificates represent a risk."

  16. Hallo,

  17. Twtich server upgrade so also more bitrate upload and users pay a small pocket money for this :)

You know it from server hosters "You want more upload or more storage, then rent at Twitch-Turbo the server package" For +5,90$ or 9,90$ you can upload and stream up to 13K/ 15K.
So Twitch would have less problems with the costs and who does not want to pay such a server upgrade remains with Free and 6-8K upload depending on Twitch contract.

Possible would be this Year, because it's time for an Upgrade at Twitch :)
    YT has long been at…

  18. The vertical scrollbars on most pages don't extend to the edge of the window (Browser dev tools indicate a 2 pixel gap between scollbar and the edge). Which means that when the window is maximized, you can't just jam the cursor to the right of the screen and click to grab the scrollbar. You have to make effort to very carefully move the cursor into the extremely tiny 6 pixel wide scrollbar and then grab it.

  19. Error 2000 in my experience has been due to the Anti-tracking software I use. This makes the stream crash and quit playing. You need to refresh to get the stream going again. Usually this will cause an ad to play as soon as it is refreshed but not always in my experience. Anti-tracking software does not prevent other streaming websites to run smoothly for me, only Twitch. On my latest Twitch watching stint, my Anti-tracking software shows 13 advertising trackers blocked, 3 site analytics trackers blocked, and 0 essential trackers blocked. My Anti-tracking software states that essential trackers are critical…

  20. Player becomes dim when pausing. Please give toggle or solution to this problem so that we can have the option to view stream with proper lighting when paused. As it currently stands, this problem has frustrated and an inconvenience to people who need to pause the video to look at a certain detail, I'm sure this fix would significantly improve user experience as it would give a convenience to those who need to see the stream when paused, thank you!
