Proposed Fix for Frame Drop Buffer: 30s chat delay, then start stutter When streamers experience frame drops: Twitch currently buffers by adding chat delay for smoothness. While this does effectively buffer the video, it adds unnecessary confusion and frustration between the streamer and chat. If there is a several minute delay, chat is basically removed from the stream experience. Other platforms use stuttering to buffer, resuming stream live after the dropped frame. This makes it obvious that there is a drop, but chat is engaged: which is preferable for most streamers I've met experiencing this. I propose using a blend: allowing the stream to buffer for a short time, maybe 30 seconds,…

Upgrade to AMD encoder I've been struggling to manage a high quality stream with my AMD RX 7800XT. No matter what bitrate I am using, the quality is blurry, while other streamers on NVIDIA and or a 9000 series AMD GPUs have access to great encoders.
Please consider implementing a better low bitrate encoder for all AMD users as the card mentioned is already a high tier GPU, but it still cannot stream a clear image on the platform.

VODs rewind and start over on mobile background player Open a VOD
Lock phone screen and listen to stream
Eventually the stream will skip backwards several minutes and continue playing from there
This seems to be mostly Android.
App version 24.6.0
There are several complaints on reddit
One comment noted similar issue with quality set to auto. It may be related but I haven't tested thoroughly

Restore NA ingest servers Ever since the last week of September, I've been unable to stream on Twitch due to the removal of the Dallas and Atlanta ingest servers. There are no ingest servers with a stable connection for me to connect to. Yet, I'm not the only one having this issue. To limit all of North America to only 3 ingest servers is incredibly harmful to streamers in both the southwest and southeast US and Canada.
I opened a ticket with Twitch Support inquiring why this was done, and was told "The best way to ensure your voice is heard is by submitting…

Bug Fix - Disabling Autoplay now causes an Infinite Loop I tried notifying twitch support but they don't read and just give automated responses.
My "idea" is for you to fix this very obvious bug that appeared a few days ago and significantly impacts both you and the end users..
Problem: When autoplay is disabled, it causes an infinite loop in twitch player which creates very high CPU usage and runaway memory usage that grows constantly until the tab crashes or video fails. It also causes incredibly poor performance on the site..
It's very easy to reproduce. My tests have been on multiple machines with multiple versions of Firefox with…

Video quality ratcheting down when stream hopping Every time you switch to another stream, it selects the highest quality that isn’t higher than what you were watching last time. One moment you’re watching 1440p60 9 Mbps HEVC, completely stably with low latency. Next you hop into a 720p30 stream. Fine, the source is what it is. Then you open a 1080p60 stream. You get 480p30 because 1080p60 and 720p60 are both more than 720p30. Completely uncalled for when your actual selection was 1440p60.
Auto quality is no solution. Its bandwidth estimation keeps having downward spikes. It may say 135 Mbps which is still an underestimate but plenty.…

Have option to view video in any quality with any fps. Atleast give us option to watch 1080p/720p 30fps and 60 fps. Both Have option to view video in any quality with any fps. If this is wishful thinking atleast give us option to not watch 1080/720p in 60 fps. My wifi can't handle it. But it can handle 30 fps. Would be cool to have 480p and below to have 60 fps and 30fps options also.

Enhanced Broadcasting variability under load — EB degrading on weekends I'm having issues where my internet and encoder are fine and under no pressure. Yesterday I ran into 3 separate instances where I'm using EB and my frames are dropping constantly. According to twitch inspector all my hardware/internet was working properly but something happened on the way to or at the ingest server which made my stream crash multiple times. I'm sure this is not a hardware issue as I've been using EB successfully for a couple weeks now. Didn't know where else to bring it to attention, thanks for your time.

Remove quality block for subscriber Right now, allegedly for cost-saving, some regions are limited to 720p quality.
My proposal is that this restriction should not apply to viewers who have purchased Prime or a subscription to a specific streamer.

Implement Per-Streamer Volume Boosting (up to 200%) with Persistent Settings Currently, audio levels vary wildly between creators. I often find myself watching a streamer whose output is much quieter than others, forcing me to crank my system or speaker volume to 100%. When I switch to a different stream or an ad plays, the audio is deafeningly loud, requiring constant manual adjustment.
The Proposed Feature:
Client-Side Gain/Boost: Allow the Twitch web player and app volume sliders to go past 100% (up to 200%) for individual viewers.
Persistent "Cached" Volume: The player should "remember" the specific volume level set for that creator. If I set Streamer A to 150% and Streamer…

streams freezing in chrome Streams crash when chrome is not in focus.
I have 2 streams on my 2nd monitor while I work, and the streams randomly start buffering with the spinning wheel.
I have to click back into the tab to get the stream to resume.
This is super annoying, not sure if this is a chrome update, or a bad twitch update.2 votes -

Stream Rewind has a bug that causes the resolution to switch to 720p after skipping back to live When using stream rewind, skipping back to live would set the player resolution to 720p even if it was on source before rewinding or during rewind

Add support for 20 & 40 FPS Streams Currently, Twitch can ingest 24, 25, 30, 48, 50, or 60 fps streams. I would like to have 20 and 40 FPS added as well.
Many retro games run at 20 fps, however, the only available multiple for these games is 60 fps, tripling the necessary frame count and wasting bitrate.
40 fps is becoming an increasingly common FPS target in modern console games, as variable refresh and 120hz displays are becoming more widespread. Presently, there is no way to stream at this framerate without stuttering, forcing players to lower their ingame settings to target 30 fps, or upload low…

make the video player size exactly 1920x1080 on 2k monitor When watching on 1440p monitor (100% display scale on windows) the video player size is 1980x1114 when not in fullscreen. This makes the image more blurry as most content is 1080p and it upscales it to this odd resolution. It would be better if the player was exactly 1920x1080 as no scaling would be needed. Now you have to manually resize the browser window to do it.

Power Regression Issue on Twitch in Chromium-Based Browsers (143 Stable) Hi Twitch,
Recently, we observed a 40%+ power consumption regression when users visit Twitch page (e.g., sample page: https://www.twitch.tv/twitch/clip/CrispyJollyGullHassaanChop-nPlLKGxGRcBj37e4) with Chrome / Edge v143 or newer on Windows. This regression creates a noticeably worse battery life experience for Twitch users.
Although Twitch’s source code is obfuscated, preventing a full inspection, our experiments show that disabling all invisible CSS animations can remove the regression. Through Chrome DevTools, we identified a likely source in a file similar to: 1882-89946-7e817d31.js (file name may vary). The relevant code snippet is shown below. Removing the infinite attribute from the animation definition prevents the regression…

Video quality does not revert to high quality after tabbing off the Twitch page Absolutely remarkable that after YEARS your video player still does not return to the original quality after tabbing to another screen for a moment.
