  1. There is a clear and present epidemic of bot accounts on Twitch (eg: The innumerable 'hoss_###' accounts) harassing streamers and viewers on Twitch, especially smaller content creators.

These bots are using a malicious third-party extension which can capture and log users' IP addresses whenever said user clicks on their name in chat, to view information about them as a user or views their channel.

Since the report feature currently requires clicking on a user's name, this exploit undermines users' ability to moderate and combat these bot accounts. There are ways of banning these users directly from chat, such as Nightbot,…

  3. "Under attack mode" to get rid of all bots.

Twitch should introduce an "under attack mode" similar to the one in Cloudflare that many sites use. If you are exposed to an attack by bots, you switch on the attack mode and everyone who then tries to reach the site must first solve a captcha (in twitch cases, everyone who wants to write in the chat). Then all bots will be filtered out.
When the attack is gone, which is usually 20min-30min, this mode is turned off and everything is as usual again.

This is better than having your stream…

  4. A raid-allow whitelist of channels, that is toggled on/off, will allow streamers to control the channels that are allowed to raid, removing one of the current threats to safety for marginalized communities trying to operate on Twitch in the context of hate raiders often performed by bot accounts.

  5. Many ideas have been discussed here about adding 2FA as a next level security for accounts to verify they're legit and not just a spam bot account and chat. (See: https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/933812-safety/suggestions/41306257-adding-2fa-to-chat-as-optional-filter)

What I propose here that is different those ideas is adding a CAPTCHA solver puzzle for people who want to follow a channel. And I'm not talking about those silly Text Based CAPTCHA solver puzzles that are distorted with upper and lower case characters and other things, but an image based CAPTCHA solver puzzle.

    1. New followers will have to solve a CAPTCHA, a One-time Only process before the…

  6. I noticed when attempting to login in to my Twitch account with the wrong password an error message stating "That password was incorrect. Please try again" appears. Also, in the case where there is no existing username the page displays, "This username does not exist." This is bad! Never do this! When the username or password is incorrect the page should display "Username or Password was incorrect. Please try again" or something to the same extent. The reason why the to warning should never be separate is a security issue. If an attacker were to try to get into someone's…

  7. Given the widespread use of hostile bots on Twitch right now by bad actors, particularly those targeting LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities, it would be great if we could have a RegEx pattern block/ban/follow restriction option. A number of the accounts being spun up for the purpose of harassing and stealing the identities of streamers have consistent name patterns, and being able to issue a regex block/ban on those patterns would be useful.

This sort of feature would obviously be something that streamers would have to use at their own risk. Overly inclusive block/ban patterns could potentially limit legitimate viewers. But…

  8. Greetings,

I am unable to find where to submit feedback about reports of streamer violations not being acted upon. That is, Twitch's platform moderation ignoring reported TOS violations. There needs to be a way to contact someone higher up when this is occurring.

The specific reports being ignored are of streamers violating the "Nudity and Attire" rules in Just Chatting, some every stream, whoever is receiving reports of this is not doing anything because the streams continue without being moved to Pools, Hot Tubs & Beaches category.

    Please get better moderators.

"For all streamers, you must cover the area extending…

  9. As a mod for an LGBTQ+ and trans streamer, we have been hit with a ton of followbots coming in and spamming chat with hateful intent. I had an idea for a command that would ban all accounts that have followed in a recent timeframe.

For example, (/banall 10) would ban all accounts that have followed in the last 10 minutes. This would greatly reduce the amount of time that moderators have to spend on banning all accounts separately. I spent an hour last night doing so, and while I had backup to monitor chat, I know that many smaller…

  10. Having a leveling system that streamers can set the parameters of leveling So that the streamer has more control over there stream bassed on the level of that person thats in there, the nore they chat and interact the higher the level goes, also makes it easier for mods knowing if they have been in there bassed on the level rather than looking at when they followed, the streamer can even set perks for that viewer when they reached a level in the channel, this if more for putting guildlines in place to safe guard the channels plus make it…

  11. Streamers like (Admin Edit - don't call out people directly, please) are bringing the quality of TTV down, and fast. A lot of people share the same sentiment in thinking this kind of content doesn't belong on twitch.

I'm also calling for an age restriction on these like-minded streamers. No child should be able to access these streams from Twitches home page. You should also have to confirm your age on twitch so that no children are seeing this kind of content.

  12. Block users banned from a channel from joining a raid from the channel the users are banned from to the raided channel, and also not notifying the banned users the name of the raid target channel (specifically the notification appearing on the top of the chat when the raid is about to happen).

As with a raid, the raiding streamer will be in the chat of the raided channel, and the raiding and raided channels usually have related communities, malicious users can use this opportunity to continue harassing the streamer or spreading damage to related communities, despite being banned from…

  13. Just either a message that would be sent out to all people following which seems difficult or a notice on the streamers page saying why they were removed instead of just deleting the page entirely. Thanks

  14. immediate permanent bans shouldn't be allowed. give a warning in whispers. if warning appears in chat it can be easily missed. also if the person doesn't understand what they did wrong have it explained first instead of permanent banned. good people can get permanently banned to easily.

  15. BTTV is trash, and the entire community is cringe. I would appreciate it if Twitch allowed users to block their content, as it is not a part of the platform and 3rd party apps should not dominate chat. I would also like to point out that the BOOBA emote is extremely sexist, and only enables children to continue a mindset that has historically oppressed women as sexual objects. Finally, I would like an option to not have animated emojis in Twitch chat, because it is annoying and cringe.

  16. At the discretion of streamers and moderators, the reasons for the ban vary depending on the atmosphere of the room.

Sometimes, some users cannot remember what they said on the day of the ban

When they were asked to cancel after being banned,

it would be nice if the users could simply check why they were banned.

  18. Here's a catch of the Followers-Only mode that is bad: A spambot can follow anyone at any time and never talk anything. By the point someone turns on Followers-Only mode the bot has followed long enough to be allowed to taint the chat with spam.

    And here's the solution:
Authy Badge: this would be a better "Verified Badge" than the Verified Badge, because it would confirm that the person activated 2FA, which typically involves having a phone, which typically means bots have a harder time verified themselves as a legitimate user and the Verified Badge is nothing more than "this…

  19. The problem: Blocking someone does two things:
    1. Makes them unable to interact with you in a poor manner (their messages won't show to you)
    2. Makes it so they CAN'T follow you and will be forced to unfollow (which doesn't make sense and you'll see why)

Now, how to fix it so it isn't garbage:
    1. Make it so permanent ban forces the person to unfollow instead and prevents them from joining hosts or raids that goes to whoever banned them.
    2. Instead of hiding chat messages from a blocked person, take the Discord approach (add a "this message…

  20. The onslaught of content that is borderline porographic, highly suggestive because and obvious adult content and because of the repetitiveness of underage accounts created on a daily basis. Not to mention you aren't required to have an account to view ANY subject matter. As of today accounts have no viewing/streaming restricts on them unless what is divulged by the creator. There is no current method of authentication for accounts. Amazon is the parent company and has the abilities to verify accounts with bank/credit card information require THIS same method for all twitch user 18+ that want to stream. Require it…
