How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

  1. It's great that you have a "mature content" label as an option, but any kid can still simply click through that, they don't even need an account. Many creators that I watch simply don't want kids in their streams for various reasons.

Make it so that creators can also require a login for the video stream of their channel to show up. Maybe when you click into the full stream it gives you an alert that you need to login.

  2. I'm here today to talk about an idea. It would help a lot of the twitch community that plays mainly FPS games. As we all know twitch streamers are always receiving stream snipe, unfortunately, so I was thinking today that it should exist a new command to help our streamers, it would be used to black out the screen of a certain viewer (That will be stream snipping or not) including the audio and video of course.

  3. I have been suspend since April 2022 of this year. The Twitch staff has not told me how long I am suspend for. Can you please make it more clear when accounts are suspend.

  4. Those who make a purchase (e.g. bits, subscriptions, etc.) should be treated as phone-verified. I only use a VoIP phone number, so I can't phone verify. But I do have an Amazon Prime subscription, so I can get 1 free Twitch subscription every month. My payment information is on file, so if I end up being a creepy stalker guy, you can easily trace me through the credit card, right? That should be good enough to stave off trolls. Let me be treated as Stage 2 Verified (stage 1 only requires an email address) if I either have my payment…

  5. Just an idea that the person who is banned from a channel should be informed of who banned them from the channel (broadcaster or moderator of the channel) and the reason included (if a reason was given).

This shouldn't just be for the mods and broadcaster of the channel. This wouldn't be shown to those who aren't banned from the channel unless they're also banned from the same channel.

    "<User 1>, <User 2>, etc. are banned from <channel name> by <broadcaster/mod's name> because of <applicable reasons>"

This would help the person understand why they're banned and if it was an…

  6. Many streamers does timeout on mods as joke or redeem by channel points.

But is a hassle to have to put it back mod and editor on some of them.

Would be better to have an option to the mod/editor role to be not removed on timeout, and act like the vips who can be timmed out without losing the role.

  7. If a user is banned from the streamer's chat they shouldn't allowed to lurk in the streamers stream because it's like stalking it's not cool for someone who is lurking someone's stream if they are banned.

  8. The Twitch Rule enforcement system needs to be updated. The hardline enforcement is incompatible with the "per-case" approach when it comes to users being reported on the platform.

I believe that the system in its current state makes it too easy for bad actors to abuse the reporting system and use it as a means to remove streamers for violations that didn't happen, and I also believe that it makes it harder for streamers to defend the violations (via appeals), as when a streamer is suspended/banned they cannot review their VODs to see if or even when a violation took…

  9. Why won't you enable human authentication???????????

Such as, "Select all photos that are showing traffic lights..." etc...
Twitch bots are ruining your platform.
Honestly its not that hard to get rid of them. Your monitoring/authentication process is atrocious. It wouldn't surprise me if Twitch was supporting these botting sites and allowing BOTS for more ad revenue/publicity and numbers.
Embedded and fake views should not count.

It's not that hard to get a server, run some simple python commands that create accounts in the thousands. Then let them chat, and even mimic other user's input to make them seem authentic.

    Force…

  10. Personally I do not like that we have to use the same reporting process to follow through with reporting a bot incident in one's own stream. There have been multiple cases of accounts being mistakenly banned on Twitch's end, this reporting process only encourages that to repeat itself.

I believe we should get a new bot reporting process that is separate from the regular reporting process as to avoid any complications that could result in unjust bans of streamers trying to help the whole community.

  12. I started checking out lower viewer count streamers and noticed a trend of groups of people targeting new streamers with fake donation messages.

e.g. Username: has donated $1500.00! :TwitchVotes:

They use the TwitchVotes emote to make the message to make it look legitimate, as it's a Twitch icon with a checkmark. They use these donations to pressure people into doing things, everything from small pranks, to more dangerous stuff, to more sexual requests. It's surprisingly effective, as a lot of these people are non-technical or new to streaming, and feel pressured into doing these dares. I've reported these users, but…

  13. I've seen quite a few people get banned now and they cannot decipher what they got banned for in the vague email you send. More to this; streamers can be streaming for 10 hours a day and you expect them to remember 10 seconds of discourse that got them banned? Just attach the "bannable" clip to the email. How are people supposed to consciously appeal a ban when you don't explicity tell them what they did was wrong instead of give a vague "category"?

  16. This might not be within twitch's power, but perhaps some kind of SWAT safety database made available specifically for law enforcement. Just something for law enforcement to reconcile an accusation (swat worthy) against streamers, as they are easily targeted. I acknowledge this is a rare event, however this seems like a small overhead to implement

  17. When a streamer is suspended or banned, that streamer has no idea what the actual violation was and when it took place.

The violation is too vague and doesn't offer any specific details to the streamer and they have no idea when the specific violation took place. This is something streamers need so they don't make the same mistake again. If the TOS and Community Violations are being clarified, the same should go for the reason why a streamer was banned.

A clearer understanding of the rules should come with a clearer understanding of when a violation occurred and will…

  18. There should be an option on Twitch to report moderators that are going on power trips and abusing their power. There are some viewers on Twitch who are getting wrongfully and unfairly banned from chats, or are getting sent derogatory messages from a moderator after sending an unban request. If a mod abuses their status as a moderator, then there should be some sort of form that allows viewers who have been unfairly banned and even been picked on by certain mods to send a complaint to have the specific mod in question investigated, even if they don't actually know…

  19. I consider them 100% necessary.

    1) Accounts with many bans in other channels:
    - Accounts with "some warning" on all their comments that is only seen by the mods.
    - Option for the streamer to decide if accounts with +5 /+10 /+10 /+20 / +50 bans in other channels are considered "accounts with warnings" in their channel.
    - Mods and streamer can disable "account with warnings" status for any account in their channel.
    - Mods and streamers by selecting only one option can ban/timeout all "accounts with warning" that are currently on their channel.

    2) Accounts created 1 hour /…

  20. Sometimes a new game gets released and its not listed under banned games even though it should definitely get banned from Twitch. There should be a way to suggest new games to get added to the list... Don't know why you don't have one already.. this is a gaming site...........
