Import Previously Entered Data from Full Title entries into DLC/Addons, Bundles, Expansions, Versions etc. Something that can become rather repetitive and even prevent users from adding all the Add-ons for a given title is repetitively entering the same data points over and over.
It would be extremely helpful if you set an entry to be an Addon, Expansion, Version or other relevant entry to copy all data relevant data from the original title.
Such as:
- Categorization fields
- Company fields
- Websites
- Engine
- Age RatingsEx. LittleBigPlanet
20 votesHey! Excellent suggestion, in fact we have something very similar in our Backlog already, with a ‘inherit data from parent’ feature.
It’s just at an idea stage for now, but we’ll look into planning in in accordance with our roadmap as soon as possible.

Add "Character Trailer" as a video type These types of trailers are common for fighting games and even games like Overwatch had them back in the day.
18 votesHi! We think this is a great idea, and wouldn't be hard to do. It's indeed a good way to mark all those character trailers (there are a lot of them). We have put this in our backlog and will try to get to it as soon as possible. Thanks!

Add gamepass / other subscription services Add information about if a game is on/included in a subscription service.
Such as gamepass or stadia (included with the stadia sub)
And if a removal date exists (as games will leave gamepass)

Random Game Button Just a button on IGDB to go to a random game in the database. Maybe you can set a date frame or different filters to it but in general a button to show a random game would be awesome.
16 votesHey!
This is a good suggestion thank you! This has been discussed a couple of times in the past. We can’t promise any ETA on such a feature but it would be interesting to investigate.
Our main concerns so far would be what can be included is random: should it have filters, should it be games on all platforms or only selected ones, all age ratings etc..
If you have more ideas or specifics that always helps, we’ll leave this ticket open meanwhile!
Thank you! -
Automatically sync our libraries from Steam, GOG, Microsoft Store, Nintendo eShop, Playstation store, etc. Including subscriptions. To build up our personal libraries on IGDB, we wouldn't have to manually search for and add each game. We could simply connect our IGDB accounts to our accounts on all of those services, and IGDB would automatically populate our libraries with the games that exist in our libraries on each of those retailers. Steam, for example, has a 'sign in with Steam' function that IGDB could implement, and we could use it to connect our IGDB accounts to our Steam accounts. Other game retailers have similar functions; that's how GOG Galaxy 2.0's integrations work.
This way, in IGDB I'd…16 votes -

Games + Demos Category Cover Art Submission The popular category 'Games + Demo's' currently has missing cover art.
I reached out to the IGDB team and they said "As these specific categories are directly handled by Twitch and generally handled internally, it would best be submitted to their UserVoice" with that being said, I would like to submit a piece of Cover Art for approval for the category.
As I can't attach a photo, here are my two submissions (I prefer option 2):

Users recommendation Instead of using random algorithm for similar games on IGDB pages. Make users enable recommend games based on their review. See MyAnimeList for the implementation. Its something like this :
If you like [Insert game title], then you can try this based on users recommendation and similar theme.

Bring back "time_to_beat" game field or similar Was really sad to see it removed, as it's a nice metric to be able to sort and filter on.

Boxart/Coverart submissions need to be fixed Previously, I had been able to submit coverart for games on Twitch via a form located on the Twitch support website. This was a critical feature of Twitch to ensure that smaller and/or older games on the Twitch platform wouldn't be left with incorrect or generic artwork. However, as of late, my submissions of coverart via the form have gone unanswered, and the link to the form has been removed from Twitch's support site as well.
For context, the form is located here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeHi3k8F8Vmu_uayd-ynHWh0fZ8O5FkAc3Smp4lJrj6r-I5eg/viewform
And it was referenced on this support page: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/adding-a-game-and-box-art-to-the-directory?language=en_US
In the past, similar issues have occurred…

game music Allow a link to a theme song (or theme songs) for a game. For example a direct link to a song.
download link: http://gamethemesongs.com/song/download/12052
page link: http://gamethemesongs.com/Goldeneye_007_-_N64.html14 votesHeya! This could indeed be interesting, however there’s a lot of possible legal investigation to look into when it comes to music copyrights.
In the short term it’s hard to say how we could approach this. Long term we of course would love to expand our data and game info with music, sounds like an obvious fit!

Merging companies Many companies exist on the site under two or more names, with a number of games attributed to each of the various forms of their name. A procedure to flag and combine these disparate developer and publisher listings under a single company name would allow this data to be cleaned up and made more useful.

On duplication (Webhook/API) When a entry is "deleted" in favor of a duplicate.
Send a update for and update both entries.
The old/dead entry, remove all data (consider the remove optional) and add a

Add certain Bundles as selectable categories Games listed as Bundles on IGDB aren't selectable as Twitch categories, and for things like Gunvolt Striker Pack where you're either playing Gunvolt 1 or Gunvolt 2 that makes sense.
Certain Bundles feel like experiences of their own though. I've been streaming the Game & Watch Gallery series recently and its frustrating that there's no category for it, the games it bundles together are small games, so you're naturally going to be playing around the collection, but Twitch has each individual game selectable rather than the bundle as a whole. I think it would be much better to just have…

Dota 1 Please add Dota 1 as separate category, as presented here:
https://www.igdb.com/games/defense-of-the-ancientsCurrently streamers are forced to use Warcraft III as game even though they are playing strictly Dota.
12 votesHi!
Unfortunately Twitch does not ingest MODs as streaming categories, and from a categorisation point of view that is nonetheless correct for us on IGDB: Dota 1 is indeed a MOD of Warcraft 3.
What we'd recommend is to reach out to Twitch Support directly for the creation of a bespoke category, they are able to do override on certain categories.
Alternatively you may ask here directly for a new category to be created: https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310210-discover?category_id=367945
Hope this helps!

Add a tag for denoting ROM hacks, fan games, and other unofficial works. TL;DR: Some way to differentiate canonical franchise entries from noncanonical ones would be awesome.
First off, I love that IGDB accepts and maintains data about ROM hacks, fan games, and other "unofficial" titles. It really helps the platform's position and usability as a database for all games of all kinds.
That being said, when looking through the search results for a franchise like Pokemon, there are an incredible number of these unofficial games mixed into the results, many of which are built off of the existing, official games. There's nothing (as far as I can tell, anyway) in the metadata…
12 votesHi there! We couldn't agree more that we need something to differentiate official and unofficial content and we've been discussing for a while how we can do that. We are currently investigating ways forward to make sure that when we do this, it's done correctly. Thanks for the great suggestion!

Minecraft Bedrock edition as a category Hello
I noticed that there are so many Minecraft categories but none from the Minecraft Bedrock edition.
In general, this is my suggestion. An extra category for the Minecraft Bedrock edition. I'm from the Minecraft Bedfrock edition scene and because there is no category for which many of my colleagues stream Minecraft Bedrock edition only on YouTube and not on Twitch. It is even often said that the Minecraft Bedrock edition would not be wanted on Twitch and something like that. And I think something should change so that another community can find its place on Twitch.
