How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

  1. Several games have interesting or obscure caveats in terms of their release or their playability, and it's worth mentioning them for the sake of completeness. For example, Donkey Kong Junior is listed as a Gameboy Advance release, which is technically correct, but it was only playable via the e-Reader, which is not obvious. Additionally, Donkey Kong Junior also exists as a playable game within Game and Watch Gallery 3 and 4, which may technically not count as a release but deserves mentioning somewhere. There are several examples of games with unique scenarios like this, and this data doesn't really have…

Hey! This is excellent, we ourselves have been wanting Triva data for a long time. Although this isn’t a high priority data it would offer a lot in terms of general knowledge.

However this is a difficult data to handle, as verifying it can be quite difficult and time consuming. Eventually we will revisit the concept and see what options we can come up with to faciliate this.

Leaving this ticket open if other users have suggestions, such as sources of gaming trivia that could be researched.

    Thanks!

  2. Just a button on IGDB to go to a random game in the database. Maybe you can set a date frame or different filters to it but in general a button to show a random game would be awesome.

    Hey!

This is a good suggestion thank you! This has been discussed a couple of times in the past. We can’t promise any ETA on such a feature but it would be interesting to investigate.

Our main concerns so far would be what can be included is random: should it have filters, should it be games on all platforms or only selected ones, all age ratings etc..

If you have more ideas or specifics that always helps, we’ll leave this ticket open meanwhile!
    Thank you!

  3. Maybe this is just me, but I almost always miss something when I edit, update or submit a New Game, and never see it until I see the full list of changes on the Pending Submission page.

It might help to have an "Are you sure?" page between Previewing all Changes and Submit/Update.

There’s a good suggestion here, although it could also add some friction. In particular for users doing a lot of edits in a row.

Adding a page between would add extra pages and clicks, making the contribution flow slower.

I would picture more like having a recap visible at all times through in the sidebar maybe, somewhat like an online store shopping cart (-Cover, Keywords X2, Genre, Screenshots X5 etc..).
