  1. Currently, the basic search algorithm on IGDB seems to value popularity over anything -- even the title of the game being searched.
When I searched for "Persona 2", it being a 2-part game, the games "Persona 2: Innocent Sin" and "Persona 2: Eternal Punishment" appear as the 16th and 19th entries down the list respectively, while "Persona 5", by dar the most popular game in the series, showed up first.
The algorithm needs to prioritize the search input much more than it currently does, as the current system renders inputting sequel or series entry numbers (2, 5 etc.) quite useless.

  2. Games listed as Bundles on IGDB aren't selectable as Twitch categories, and for things like Gunvolt Striker Pack where you're either playing Gunvolt 1 or Gunvolt 2 that makes sense.

Certain Bundles feel like experiences of their own though. I've been streaming the Game & Watch Gallery series recently and its frustrating that there's no category for it, the games it bundles together are small games, so you're naturally going to be playing around the collection, but Twitch has each individual game selectable rather than the bundle as a whole. I think it would be much better to just have…

  3. Do it by using both:

Content filtering (content-based filtering): a user rates games and/or adds games to their personal library or lists, and then is shown stuff that has similar metadata to the games that that user has rated highly and/or added to their library. For example, games within the same genres, games from the same developers, games released in the same year, etc.

Collaborative filtering (user-library-based filtering): a user rates games and/or adds games to their personal library, and then is shown stuff that other users who highly rated those same games and/or have those same games in their…

  4. The element used for browsing lists of games that fit a certain page’s criteria (e.g. game engine pages, category/keyword pages, franchise pages) sometimes does not display the pagination, preventing users from seeing any games beyond the first 10 shown. Changing the sort mode can allow you to see a different slice of 10 games, thus verifying that there should be additional pages visible.

Heya! Indeed definitely a bug, we’ve added this into our backlog and will look at a fix as soon as possible.
    Thanks!

  5. I think IGDB should borrow the "All DLC page" from Steam.

So, on a page that has lots of DLC, say

    Snowrunner - https://www.igdb.com/games/snowrunner (12 DLC)
    or
    Euro Truck Sim 2 - https://www.igdb.com/games/euro-truck-simulator-2 (11 DLC)

A page should be added say https://www.igdb.com/games/euro-truck-simulator-2/dlc

Which has a layout simial to https://store.steampowered.com/dlc/1465360/SnowRunner/#browse

So a vertical list of all the DLC's with the box art and the summary (maybe the website links along side)

Then you can more easily see all the DLC without having to use the arrows to navigate the list.

This can also help karma hunters to easily revise/update data on…

  6. By showing the version title, it would be easier to know which version is which for games with the same name in different versions. It could be shown in front of the release date.

  7. The remake of work, Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer (IGDB ID: 78341, NDS Shiren) appears on Twitch, but the original, Fushigi no Dungeon 2: Furai no Shiren (IGDB ID: 103496, original Shiren), is registered with IGDB but does not appear on Twitch. NDS Shiren is not just a port, it's a completely new remake, and there's no way original Shiren can be broadcast under the NDS Shiren category.
Twitch shows other remakes, but why doesn't it show Shiren? The reason may be that it's considered an alternative to other games, as shown on the following page.

  8. Have more options in the personalise home screen that change the categories that show, and maybe change the locations like widgets.

Bee able to see suggested games (based on ratings), see karma hunter categories (missing credits, missing screenshots), be able to make the coming soon big like the popular games right now etc.

    Hey!

Awesome suggestion thank you. Revisiting the homepage is definitely planned in the future. Right now we do have filters by platforms that will impact the games reviewed and the coming soon/recently released sections.

Being able to showcase more community driven games, such as rated, reviewed or contributed is definitely one good option.

We’ll have announcements when we return to this! thanks

  9. Currently if you look at a series collection page, the main games, dlc and expansions are listed, but not standalone expansions.

    Examples:
https://www.igdb.com/games/nostalgia-forte is not listed on its series collection page https://www.igdb.com/collections/nostalgia

https://www.igdb.com/games/far-cry-3-blood-dragon is not listed on its series collection page https://www.igdb.com/collections/far-cry

I think it is hard to find those stand alone expansions from the perspective of trying to find all standalone games in a series and would really like to have them represented.

  10. Currently to discover more titles using advanced search, you have to keep scrolling until you hit Load more. Further, after a few of those it dead ends and and you can't look anymore into whatever parameters you want, especially when searching in very wide criteria such as release date alone. Adding more "Load More" scrolls would just slow down the website and not be a feasible solution. A great quality of life change would be to just make it simple pages or do some kind of hybrid with the current, due to it's inconsistency alone it makes the database difficult…

  11. Add an option to the /advanced_search to filter something out, like a platform. This way people can more easily find platform exclusives.

  12. There is the coming soon section which can be filter by platform but there is no way that I can find to see if there are upcoming games for a specific genre. Having the feature will be a nice way to discover upcoming games of a specific genre a person might like which they are not aware of.

Easiest solution I can think of is in advanced search it would be nice if there was a field for "not released" or "coming soon" in the years section. Any game which is not cancelled and is not less than or equal…

  13. Would be great to navigate the database of a Plataform letter by letter, like Gamefaqs website, is a chore to manually reach the page of a plataform if you are seeing the games starting with M for example.

    Thanks would be much appreciated!!

  14. Please consider adding filters to lists based on the platforms contained in the list (or predefined).

This will help, for instance, to find what to play next for people who own multiple platforms.

Just imagine, you open your wishlist filter it by “switch”, and voila: you see only games that you wanted to play on switch.

  15. It would be nice to add an option to search for game that let you play either multiplayer or co-op with X amount of people.

Here is our problem as of right now:

We are looking for a game to play as a friend group, however when you look for co-op games there is no way to quickly sort for game's that allow for lets say 4 or 5 players to play together. or with BIG multiplayer game to look for games that allow for x party size.

  18. Feedback...
Have been using the site for a few weeks to compile release lists. There are some pros and cons to consider vs Metacritic and other sources.
Games are frequently missing from search and upcoming releases. These tend to be smaller titles such as Vincemus - Air Combat (a WWII aerial combat game on Steam that at time of writing has sub100 followers according to Steamdb.)
Other titles have missing platform associations, such as Catie in Meowmeowland which was missing PS4/5 and Xbox O/S/X, and similarly Weird West was assigned last gen PS4 and next gen Xbox S|X but missing…

  19. right now you can see games in a specific month or a specific year. But you can't search by a exact day regardless what year, like today in history in mobygames https://www.mobygames.com/stats/this-day. I think you have all the data, just need add some buttons. Thanks.

  20. On a number of company pages, the game list does not appear, and games associated with the company can only be viewed within the timeline element (which does not display games without a release date, and is slow to reflect updates). This issue seems prevalent among company pages with relatively few games, although that might not be the direct cause.
