Seriously. In what world is automatically opting every user in to to you using their data for Gen AI training OK?? You thought this was a good idea?

When even you Twitch understand that no one would have it turn on by default gives the whole game away. This is messed up, and knowing this is for your own profit scraping when a majority of streamers are in the age range that has AI affected the most, let alone artists, is the most scummy part.

Step. The. ****. Up. Twitch.

Adding in my two cents here that while there should be zero gen AI anywhere on twitch, making the default choice for the user to be automatically opted out is a start in the correct direction. I did not and never will consent to gen AI.

There needs and should be clear and precise information about this for all twitch users regardless of if they stream or are just viewers on the platform. Ensure there is clear communication and steps to allow for all twitch users to decide and opt out of anything AI involved. GenAI shouldn't even be an automatic default for anyone...therefore this needs to be turned off. I just spent 30 mins looking on my channel for anything having to do with where I can opt out of the use of GenAI...and am not surprised to have discovered that NOTHING about it or where / how to opt out can even be found! This is unacceptable in my opinion. If you're going to automatically opt users into something, you need to make it to where those users can easily identify and locate such options and be able to turn them off if they choose to!!

The fact that this is opt out and not opt in is insane. I have signed agreements with artists that I won’t use my assets in any generative AI content or to train generative AI. I’m sure some artists are going to revoke rights to use their work on Twitch at all! I personally am going to be looking into alternate platforms now because I don’t want to be associated with genAI. This isn’t my career, so even “less successful” platforms are more appealing than a platform that will train generative AI on everyone that uses it unless they know about the feature and opt out.

What the **** is wrong with these Twitch executives?! Not only should we NOT be opted into anything that trains GenAI by default, it shouldn't even be a thing on Twitch in the first place!

How many times have we seen this disgusting artificial disease, this plague upon society and the environment, implemented in other spaces online, only for it to cause so much destruction to the platform that tools had to be implemented to fight back against it? YouTube, DeviantArt, Instagram, Pinterest just to name a few. And that's before you consider the scams that utilize it on drop shipping sites!

This needs to be removed and a formal apology issued to every creator on the platform. Its very existence is a message to legitimate creators, and that message is "You are not wanted, and we want to replace you."

I am very disappointed in this decision to move forward with this feature. As you can see from this user voice, there is so many of us that do not want this for the platform that we are actively on. A lot of us love this platform and are proud of what we have gained from Twitch, what we have built and what we hope to achieve.

this is my second time posting on this but wow, wish i could say im surprised but not really. we all know that the twitch execs stopped giving a **** about their platforms users but this is just... par for the course. twitch used to be part of my dream for actually getting to do what i love as a living, and for the past few years has been what i've been working *******. not anymore though. sincerly twitch execs, go **** yourselves. opt in by default? shove it up your *****. not that it matters cause theres no way in **** anyone should even trust that opting out works anyways, you absolute scumbags

It is quite concerning that the default assumption by businesses is that AI has free reign without directly saying no. That is how AI developed, however, so it's not that much of a surprise. At least we have a way to say "Yeah no thanks," unlike thousands of artists who had their work stolen while AI was in development but not yet good enough to attract the majority of people's attention. By default, we are not okay with this.

I would say I'm shocked that you didn't listen to the over 14 thousand voices in here, but I know the executives at Twitch HQ don't actually care about what the users of the platform think. You only care about how much money you stand to gain off of constantly exploiting us. I hope people get fired for the choices you made that led to Generative AI being made Opt In by default. You are a pathetic platform and as soon as there is a viable alternative to Twitch I will be more than happy to abandon my 14 years with this wretched platform.

It's insane that we have to opt-out of this. And that if a channel doesn't opt-out, regardless of what we as users have chosen via our own settings, then we are unwillingly used to train GenAI models.

My creator contract had nothing regarding Gen AI in it when I became affiliate. That this feature was opt-out by default is shady as ****, and an attempt at theft. Especially since there was no email or anything informing me of the change

Nobody wants this and nobody asked for it. Adding this to all of our accounts when none of us asked for this while ignoring the simple asks we have been asking for for years is a slap in the face.

This not being optional makes Twitch as a platform a pill to swallow for streamers and would make any other service better by miles. AI training should always be Opt-In less you violate every streamers artistic merit and personality.

I did not consent for any of my content to be used and scraped to train AI in the first place. That was not in my original creator contact, and I was not legally informed of any change. This is theft.
