If you guys do incorporate this idea, can you guys create a new badge like 'glhf' badge or Twitch prime badge specifically for people who have requested a feature that has been implemented into the Twitch system so we can get recognition and have proof to tell friends and show chat. I think that by making these badges, it would encourage more people to request for new features that could improve Twitch quality and the community as a whole. We could call it the 'Uservoice' badge or something along those lines and the badge icon could be a cute little light bulb that's sparkling. That's all from me though. It would be really nice if you guys could implement little mini-games that chat could play while watching the stream. It could be sort of like 'Marbles on stream' that chat could engage in. I feel like when the stream is taking a short break or if there are ads running on the stream, for people in chat to stay engaged with the stream, making little mini-games for them to play would be the best way to do it. It could be Pac-Man, Tic-Tac-Toe, Snake, Connect 4, Uno, 8-ball, and Breakout. You guys can even make your own little 'Marbles on stream' game built into chat which would be really fun and interesting to play with hundreds of people in chat whenever you want without the streamer having to use do it themselves. The feature would be really cool and I'm sure everyone would want to join it, but for people that don't want to can have the option to opt-out of the game or opt back in when they feel like it. Some of these games like Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect 4, Uno, and 8-ball can be played with other people in the chat. If some games have copyright issues, just rename them something similar to what the game is. One last thing. For example when the words "ban" "unban" or "moderator" are mentioned, more than likely the user is trying to reach out to the Moderators of the channel.
In a similar approach, we can also track users of the last X amount of messages sent because the user may also be likely to be replying to a comment. If the content of the previous messages match what the user is typing, then they will likely tag that former person as well.

I see that a lot of ideas posted regarding chat are about improving this tagging experience, and what better way to improve it based on what the user has already written down. :)

Sometimes smaller channels get a large influx of people to the point that the existing community is drowned out and can't talk to each other. A channel I've been a part of for a year has 4000 viewers more than normal, and chat's moving so quickly the regulars can't even talk to each other. What about an auxiliary chat people can move to if the streamer has added them there for being a longtime community member? The streamer could either see both chats or the two chats weave into one on their end. And maybe this chat has a size limit, either in total or at a single time. So for example, 250 qualifying people at a time can be in this chat. If one leaves, then a spot opens up and another can come in.

I would like to have the ability to enable an option where new viewers to a stream can see previous messages posted in chat. There are times when viewers may come into a chat, but have no context, with what the streamer is discussing as they are unable to see previous messages in chat. There are also times where regular viewers may have to temporarily leave the stream, but then when they return only a little bit later, they are unable to see what was previously posted in chat. I know other streaming services, such as YouTube and Mixer, by default, allow viewers to see messages previously posted in chat when someone new joins a stream.

So, my issue with Highlighted Messages is that almost all the time they get drowned out by the other messages anyways, especially with larger streamers. The whole point (To my understanding) of highlighted messages is to make them more visible to the streamer, which often doesn't happen for the reason I stated earlier.

So here's how I think this can be improved: Separate regular chat from Highlighted Chat. This way the highlighted messages won't be drowned out. Even though the cost, and by extension the frequency of Highlighted Messages will vary and could be low OR high, it still won't go by fast enough to be missed completely... most of the time, at least, and while they still might not be seen right away, they WILL be seen eventually.
