IP Ban from channel
IP Ban makes it possible to permanently ban a user with the same IP Address, thus not allowing them to crate other account to try and troll/spam, etc.
This poses a couple of hard problems. We’ll look for feedback on these points in comments before declining.
1) IPs change. A lot. A broadcaster might lose a significant portion of their audience, and viewers might get confused if there are a lot of banned IPs (such as universities).
2) System load. Looking up a enormous list of IPs to see who is allowed to watch on every single video play is an enormous system load I’m not sure we’re willing to take on.
3) Support costs. “Why can’t I watch X/Y/Z, I don’t know who they are” would come up. Our support isn’t free, and we’d like to be able to focus on issues like passwords, bugs, etc.
Game developers and streaming platforms must take responsibility for cyber bullying!

I consider it because I'm being stalked by someone who made multiple twitch accounts to harass me and I had them banned from the chat and reported them but they still do it anyway for the sake of trouble. before starting a private chat you have to make sure that your device is connected to the internet or not for the wifi service I mostly use Linksys router if you want to know about Linksys router take help from https://www.linksysroutersupportnumber.com/
Please ban maceij_maciomen9, he is using multiple accounts and coming in stream to tell me "FAT MURICAN VIRGIN IS UGLY AS HELL" and "I WILL LAUGH TOO CAUSE I WILL JUST RESET ROUTER YOU FAT PIG"
I'm happy this was never implemented. This can be very easy to abuse - very quickly too. Some users will be able to maliciously use VPN to ban people they don't like.
What if the user had a VPN for the streamer's IP address? Can the streamer ban himself from viewing his own stream?
What if a user finds out a mods IP address, and gets them banned by adding their IP address to the VPN?
It can be abused - and when something has no solution, it is best left alone.
Then just make it so you can toggle if you want only people with verified accounts to be able to watch.
Implement IRC kick command.... problem solved. SIMPLE!
1) No IP ban required. (IP banning hurts innocents & the bad ppl just spoof or proxy, pointless)
2) Zero impact on system load... Casters/Mods can simply !kick and then !ban suspect accounts/bots and rekick when/if they ever rejoin your chat.
The process could even be scripted by the channels own bot to auto kick offending/unwanted accounts who persistently make rejoin attempts.
3) No torrents flooding twitch support. (As the caster/mods are in control and working with usernames not IP addresses only the intended parties will be dealt with. No innocents affected - errors and ommision accepted.
Please perminatly ban madamcutthroat for cruel language and being extreacly rude
idk what is going on because i have been block from twich and i can't even remember what i do or what i did wrong ...
How can I get unbanned on twitch chat

My ex comes into my stream every single time and is extremely abusive and makes threats towards myself, my co-streamers (usually my boyfriend) and harasses my viewers via whispers every time he gets banned. He makes a new account and comes back again each time he gets banned. He has been reported on numerous occasions by different people. Yesterday he posted my home address in my stream chat and was making vile threats of violence towards my other's half's little girl in my stream.
Let's get to my main point though, which is the fact that he uses a VPN so that his IP address can't be traced. He has openly admitted this as well. So basically, IP bans are ineffective for those who use a VPN. That's why a lot of people use them.
FYI the person who I am talking about is Psychosocialite on Twitch (his main account) and he is a VERY nasty piece of work and likes to think himself untouchable.
I would love to see this feature allowed for broadcasters only!
I know that this is probably a dumb question, but is there a way to IP ban someone that is in your chat room. Recently I've been having a bit of a problem with a "viewer" of mine coming onto my stream chat and saying some very inappropriate things that I and I'm sure others wouldn't want to see in their stream chat. I timed him out the first time, the second time I banned him, and he goes off and makes another account so he can proceed with the unwanted content. I then ban that account and rinse and repeat. So I was wondering if there was a way to IP ban and how.
So a mod today and the whole chat and video guy was being very innapropriate and i was asking them to stop and then some guy named deaf or something was watching and everyone was being hateful towards me and saying them i was om them asking for naked pic sending them racial slurs even tho i wasnt (if you have the ability to) check but then a moderator timed me out for 15 minutes for no reason and then everyone was laughing and i couldnt stick up for myself they were so mean not to mention they were talking about s*x they should be banned themselves and the streamers were drinking bear and one was smoking (probably ecig) they were so mean
There is 2 streamers called MGCFifa and Javier_0930 they said they were glad that my dad died and they are threatening me because I have ADHD I have picture proof if someone were to email me.

Hurray4homicide same thing for MrArcaniner and other Mods and me at the his stream
I got a kid doing the same stuff ppl r saying below, spending hours making vulgar names to try and troll. Has happened for two days now. So far he has exhibited acts that are grounds for: harrasment, racial slurs, and intent on bodly harm. So at points twitch needs to step in despite there would be costs and do the ip bans from twitch, not just the channel.
me and my friends are constantly harassed by a user that keeps making twitch accounts and follows to do the follow sigh and harnessing our viewers and us.
So this hasn't been mentioned yet, but there are other reasons why IP bans are rather useless against dedicated trolls. People can mask their original IP address behind VPNs and proxy servers, or by using such as Tor to hide their original IP address.
IP bans are not a magic silver bullet. Sometimes they might stop a troll dead in his tracks, but it won't stop all trolls competely.
I consider it because I'm being stalked by someone who made multiple twitch accounts to harass me and I had them banned from the chat and reported them but they still do it anyway for the sake of trouble. I wish something can be done.
