GenAI is one of the most horrible things that has been developing online. If GenAI becomes something that’s forced onto streamers who are vehemently against it, then it *will* destroy any platform for artists/genuine content creators and cause Twitch to lose a *LOT* more revenue than it would gain by allowing GenAI to be forced onto streamers.

It's a betrayal of the people who offer up thousands of hours of content for people, and the millions of dollars they make for you, that you'd cast us all aside in favour of an infinitely worse alternative which WONT even make you any money, since we all know that's what the bottom line is. Don't do this. You have so many talented streamers who depend on you for their livelihood, don't cast them aside for the flavour of the week fad that'll be dead come next year.

This comment is being posted based on information that Twitch plans to train AI using streams and content on the platform. Two words: ABSOLUTELY NOT. We as creators should not have our original content stolen from us and used to train genAI slop. It is theft of intellectual rights and our hard work. If this system, or any genAI features, are not opt-in, I will personally be leaving Twitch.

I do not want AI to be forced on the creators. At minimum, creators should be able to opt-out of AI being used on their channels. I WILL leave Twitch if AI is forced on us, I can always switch to something else.

You're already destroying yourselves with every "update" to viewers/lurkers, so why are you pulling out a bigger gun to shoot the other foot? Doesn't this fall under your Intellectual Property Rights in your own TOS where you will be using our created content without our permission? (Sure, people can claim it's not because of the HOPEFUL opt in/out function serving as consent, but there shouldn't even HAVE to be this discussion.) Let alone the damage it does to the environment, the theft of content, and the absolute lack of reading the room and regards to any of the streamers making you money. Don't do this; it's not needed, not wanted, and not welcomed.

AI advocates really need to start paying attention to the backlash for once in their lives. Like maybe you don't care about others but when the bubble bursts (and it will) it will bring everything down adjacent to it. This needs to stop.

I would rather quit/stop using Twitch entirely than be forced to help train AI garbage.

If I am not able to completely opt out of all AI features I will stop streaming on twitch and never put another cent into the site. Not only is using streams to train AI heinous theft, generative AI is killing our planet, and ruining the lives of every person in the vicinity of each and every data center. Implementing AI on your platform will have huge repercussions and many people will similarly swear off twitch for good. This is a mistake.

Given that GenAI used here would steal our work *and* the work of game studios, this shouldn't have even been considered as an option just due to the sheer pile of IP theft lawsuits Twitch would suddenly need to work through. (And that's on top of the sheer amount of environmental harm GenAI is actively causing, along with everything else.) Please focus on improving Twitch without the use of GenAI!
