Opt out of AI by default would've been the better play. Honestly disappointed there wasn't some sort of pop up upon sign in to make our own choice as viewers / creators

It's absolutely terrible they'd allow AI to train off user data and it's an extra layer of terrible that they would switch it ON for everybody by default. They KNOW nobody (or at least a huge margin of users) would want their data taken and used to train these things and yet they did this without any huge warning to make people aware. It's insidious. So anybody who wasn't made aware of this would just have their data used to train AI without their permission until it was too late. If they're gonna allow AI training into the system, at least have the decency to let people choose to turn it on or not.

Dear twitch higher-ups who want to force AI on your users: eat fresh turds. For every second you're thinking about forcing AI on your users: Eat another steamy wet **** out of a butt. That would give you a sense of what it's like to be force-fed AI. SURE, there's some people who are gonna' be into that sort of thing, but most people are not. Sincerely, get ******. :D

Friendly reminder twitch that a lot of artists have in their contracts and terms of service that their art CANNOT be used to train AI. By making this feature on by default and sucking everything into your AI models, you are forcing every creator that draws people to the platform so you can make money to violate all of their contracts. I also don't know specifics since I'm not a lawyer, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could be held liable for the violation of contract.

The only reason this is on by default is because Twitch (let's be real here, Amazon) knows no one would turn this on manually and are hoping to predate upon the ignorance of the masses to satisfy shareholders with the buzzword of the day (AI). Our data is already being harvested and sold without consent, and now they hope to steal and capitalized on even more stolen data. Shameful and disgusting behaviour by greedy cowards.

This absolutely needs to be set to auto-Opt Out. It's an egregious disregard for privacy and creator agency to force us to opt-in by default. Even worse, if we chat in someone else's stream and THEY haven't opted out, then our chat messages can be used to train gen AI because someone ELSE has consented for us. And we don't even get to know whether they've opted in or out to make an informed decision (unless I'm mistaken here). Absolutely not.

And please give MORE CLARIFICATION on ALL of the details! What does it mean for shared chat in collabs? What exactly is the generative AI used for? We need and want details (it's still a no from me, but I've seen people throwing around that there's not enough specifics)

Do not train AI models on streamers! It's disrespectful to the creators that use the platform. If we aren't valued here, we will go elsewhere as content creators.

Do better, trying to use farming of content for generative AI without expressed opt in consent is disheartening and clearly indicates that Amazon/Twitch desire to benefit from creatives without compensating them to drive their replacements by generative slop that requires no share of ad revenue/subscription split. Welcome to living long enough to become the villain.

It's so scummy that Twitch silently rolled out this new "allow us so use your streams for training AI models" setting and that it's on by default. Shows how much you care about us! We can take our streams somewhere else.

For those who don't know: This isn't a twitch issue. Amazon is the reason this was pushed through. If enough of us opt-out, they'll have data to show big daddy amazon that this was a poor business decision. Amazon has invested billions with zero return in AI, and is trying to flail -hard- at making it work in some way, including stealing from its own content creators.

You already get millions of hours of free content because you pay nothing to creators and now you want to use that data to train AI without consent. Sad.
